Because of election mishandling, the Princeton BDS-aligned referendum neither passes or fails. Now it’s up to the university administration to decide how to proceed.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the flyers were found “in a neighborhood on the northern end of Beverly Hills” as well as in West Los Angeles and Hollywood, per KTLA. The flyers stated “Every Single Aspect of the Media is Jewish” and “Every Single Aspect of the Ukraine-Russia War Is Jewish.”
After the Chief Elections Manager of Student Government informed Tigers for Israel that abstentions counted as votes cast, he reversed the decision. Opposition thought the referendum failed. Now it’s up in the air.
District to include synagogue, homes, schools, community center, and hotels
The referendum asked if the university should “immediately halt usage of all Caterpillar machinery in all ongoing construction projects given the violent role that Caterpillar machinery has play in the mass demolition of Palestinian homes, the murder of Palestinians and other innocent people.”
The shooting resulted in 29 people wounded––10 of whom were shot––but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police have named Frank James, 62, as a suspect in the shooting, and he was arrested on April 13. James has addresses in both Wisconsin and Philadelphia.
The recent JEI poll surveyed 800 American Jewish voters from March 28-April 3. Sixty-three percent of respondents said they approved of Biden’s presidency, while 37% said they did not.
