Michelle fell in love with the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, the system of Hatha Yoga taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, some 13 years ago while doing a play in San Francisco. Having grown up in the bustling suburbs of Chicago, dancing and singing and attending Labor Zionist Youth camp, she never thought the slow pace of yoga would suit her butterfly personality.  However, the dynamic, daily practice of Ashtanga drew her in, challenged her self-discipline, and inspired her to get certified as a yoga teacher in 2003 from Sacred Movement yoga and healing center in Venice, CA.

Michelle holds a BFA from NYU in acting, and a MA in Drama Therapy. Her work on Television and stage keeps her buoyant and balances any hope for getting TOO calm from all the yoga and meditation. Her life with her Rabbi husband and two cute daughters keeps her rooted in the observations and questionings of religion and ritual of all kinds.
