Dershowitz Cited for Soviet Jewry EffortsAlan Dershowitz will receive an award for his role in freeing Soviet Jews. Dershowitz, a Harvard law professor, will be honored with the Soviet Jewry Freedom Award Sunday by the Russian Jewish Community Foundation, a Massachusetts-based organization.
"Alan Dershowitz was a big part of the Soviet Jewry freedom movement," Greg Margolin, a foundation director, told the Boston Jewish Advocate. "Specifically he was instrumental in helping to secure Natan Sharansky's freedom."
