Two events in Ukraine are spotlighting Jewish culture.

About 10,000 people in Kharkov participated in the city’s Days of Jewish Culture, which ended Sunday. The weeklong event at the Beith Dan Jewish Community Center, which is sponsored by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, presented Jewish culture through the prism of music and dance performances, workshops, concerts, art exhibitions and other activities.

On Monday, more than 550 young Russian-speaking Jews from throughout Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and Belarus arrived in Odessa for the three-day Limmud Odessa. The program, the last of the Limmud FSU events for 2010, includes Jewish learning, culture, social interaction, Jewish identity and peoplehood.

Several senior Israeli journalists at the conference will be holding roundtable discussions on current issues, as well as on Israel and Jews in the contemporary world.
