Jewish World Watch Co-founder and President Janice Kamenir-Reznik and Executive Director Tzivia Schwartz Getzug have just returned from a trip to the Congo, where earlier this year JWW did an exploratory visit to see what the group could do to help stop the devastating brutality and exploitation of women and children there. On their return last week, they announced that JWW has become co-founding partners in the Eastern Congo Initiative, founded by actor Ben Affleck. The group will focus on advocacy and grantmaking, supporting the Congolese people through “local, community-based approaches.” For information go to jewishworldwatch.org or easterncongo.org.

I was touched on the interview Ben had with Christinamanpour on CNN, I am a Congolese who leaved in Goma town in the Eastern DRC and can tell of how good that place was, I am a humanitarian working outside Congo, few people have been able to advocate for the DRC may be because it is big and riches. I will be more than happy to have a direct communication with Ben Affleck if that can be possible and willing to contribute in any way to support the Initiative,
