From CBSNews.com:

CHICAGO (CBS) ― A father has been hit with an unusual restraining order: Keep his daughter away from any religion that is not Jewish. After the girl’s parents split up, the father went to a Catholic church and had the girl baptized, CBS station WBBM-TV reports.

Joseph Reyes, 35, had his daughter baptized and sent his ex-wife a picture of the ceremony.

The digital world rules in Smooth-E’s new music video for “Honikah Electronica” [VIDEO]

Posted by Ryan Torok

Read our complete coverage on “Honika Electronic” here

Smooth-E’s new music video for “Honikah Electronica” opens in high style. Clusters of Matrix-style computer text fall vertically like rain. It’s pretty cool. It looks exactly like how it did in the Wachowski brother’s 1999 sci-fi blockbuster about inhabiting a digital world, except for one thing: Smooth-E’s characters are Hebrew letters.

In the Matrix, Neo fights to bust out of the Matrix. In “Honikah Electronica,” Smooth-E is having all kinds of fun maneuvering around in the kitschy-low-budget, green-screened terrain of his digital world. Smooth-E’s grandma calls Smooth-E’s iPhone and tells him to hook up with her via the internet for a Hanukah celebration. Smooth-E doesn’t require much convincing. Before he can rap about his Facebook status update reading: “Honikah Electronica!” he’s surfing on a flying Menorah in outer space. The constellations are Jewish stars. Smooth-E avoids a meteor shower of matzah-balls like it’s nothing. He winds up on Mars with Lady Gaga. They freak-dance, spin dreidels and drink Manischevitz. He cooks latkes and exchanges presents with a blockhead robot on a disco space ship. Smooth-E is having a great time.

I had a great time watching the video. I’m not the only one. A lot of people are watching it. Very quickly the video is racking up loads of YouTube views. Only a few hours after it was posted last night, it had up over 500 views. Already this morning, that number more than doubled.

Will it surpass the viewership of “Hannukah Hey Ya!” one of Smooth-E’s biggest hits, which currently enjoys over 60,000 views? Will it be featured on YouTube? Stay tuned.

Top 60 Jewish Ghetto Names

Posted by Jay Firestone

An apparent spoof on Top 60 Ghetto Black Names, this video reminds me just how lucky I am that my last name was changed from Feurstein (pronounced: foyer-shteen) to Firestone.  A side tidbit, the translation of Feurstein is both Firestone and Flintstone.  I think I lucked out (though I probably could’ve sued Hanna Barbera).

Enjoy this master parody from “TwoFarkingJews Productions.”

Time for Miracles, Time for Adam Lambert to save ‘2012’ [VIDEO]

Posted by Jay Firestone

Just when I thought the disaster flick, “2012” couldn’t get any more unappealing, they do something like this…

and TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES.

In my mind, if you’re going to destroy God’s beautiful creations through over-the-top special effects, you better have a wicked soundtrack to accompany it.

Not sure what is more of a travesty though, the events that unfold in 2012 or the fact that Adam Lambert didn’t win American Idol.  Either way, we can all be glad that Lambert has come to rescue what seems like yet another sequel to Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, and 10000 BC. (Note: This movie will probably be just as fun and thrilling as all of those previously listed—they were all directed by Roland Emmerich.)

Here’s the synopsis from the official 2012 website:

Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments.  “2012” is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggles of the survivors.

Funny, isn’t that the same thing the Republicans said of Obama’s inauguration?

For your viewing and listening pleasure, Adam Lambert sings “Time for Miracles”

“2012”  opens Nov. 13

Seth Green Mugged

Posted by Jay Firestone

Is it that easy to mug a Jew these days?  Seth didn’t even put up a fight.  Of course, I probably wouldn’t either, considering I’m only about an inch or two taller than he is.

My G-20 Jewish Homecoming

Posted by Jay Firestone

This is my vacation…

Visiting my parents in Pittsburgh, PA was the initial reason for taking such a long break between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  But when I realized my visit would coincide with the G-20 summit, I decided to act fast.

Unfortunately I missed the deadline to receive the White House’s special press credentials.  Here’s an email from the Pittsburgh liaison.

The White House has been really tough about this.

Not sure we can help.

So I took it upon myself to scope out the Jewish scene of the G-20 Pittsburgh and the effect it had on my return to the ‘Burgh.
