I hate to start my blog off like this, but its necessary. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart totally ripped me off. As many of the VideoJew watchers know, I’m a huge fan of the elderly Jewish scene. I’ve learned Mah Jongg and even attended the 94th Annual Hadassah convention (see VideoJew Plays His Hits).
Now, let me preface – I love The Daily Show. In many ways, it is an inspiration to my work, but recently I have felt violated.
In his travels to South Florida to ‘research’ Barack Obama’s appeal to elderly Jews, newcomer correspondent Wyatt Cenac stole my muse. Unfortunately, the fun doesn’t stop there. This past June, The Daily Show also seems to have ripped off a joke from my colleague Brad Greenberg and his The God Blog.
In my opinion, that’s comedic trespassing.
However, I feel compelled to say that Cenac actually did a great job in capturing the ideals and traits of older Jews. For that I respect him and look forward to watching his future clips. I just pray he doesn’t decide to go to the kosher Subway on Pico.
Wyatt Cenac borrows VideoJew’s love for elderly Jews.

The Jewish character has become the American Jewish character, disassociated from an ethnic history and assimilated into American culture. And the assimilation hasn't only been for Jews.
The kosher meat market is in a tailspin as production at the Agriprocessors' meatpacking plant in Postville, Iowa, which had been operating at a fraction of its normal capacity since May, finally ground to a halt this week. The company, whose meat was sold under the labels

The start of the event was running late -- did I mention it was a Jewish event? -- and midway through our green room conversation, Hitchens pulled out a small bottle of Johnnie Walker Black. He emptied it into a 16-ounce clear-plastic cup and drizzled in some Crystal Geyser
The Comedy Central video is not that fun to watch. It keeps stopping and the way I had to get it start was to move the dial. It does not start properly.
I am guessing that another thing you and Wyatt Cenac have in common is that you are both Barack Obama supporters. This video is a good and indirect way to let your supporters know more about your political preferences.
Jay also grows a much better mustache than anyone on Jon Stewart’s staff.
