Bar Mitzvah boy Jorel rocks out to Queen, Psy in new video invitation

Posted by Jay Firestone

Jorel (Youtube)

Embossed letters, gold envelops, weird RSVP cards with unnecessary texture, and of course, the obiligatory "kiddish luncheon to follow."

Whatever happened to traditional bar mitzvah invitations?

Granted, I haven't received an actual bar mitzvah invitation in quite some time, but it seems a new method for transmitting a request for attendance is video...music video.

Jorel is the latest young man to digitally invite his guests.  A few weeks ago, we saw Daniel's save the date, featuring "Shaq and Barkley" (now at over 375k views).

This time, Jorel is playing off tracks from Queen and a little Psy...and it's not that bad, especially when he hits "Bohemian Rhapsody."

BTW if this trend becomes a real thing, the U.S. Post Office is in for a HUGE loss...I mean, imagine how much revenue they get from the invitation business...

“I Am Jewish” [VIDEO]

I am Jewish

By Andrew Lustig

I am the collective pride and excitement that is felt when we find out that that new actor, that great athlete, his chief of staff... is Jewish

I am the collective guilt and shame that is felt when we find out that that serial killer, that Ponzi schemer, that wife beater... is Jewish

I am the Jewish star tattooed on the chest of the teenager who chooses to rebel against his parents' and grandparents' warnings of a lonely goyim cemetery by embracing that same Judaism and making permanent his Jewish identity

It's that time again. Campaign season is in full swing, and the Super PACs are out to win your vote.

The Jewish Council on Education and Research (JCER) yesterday released a new ad for Obama featuring movie star Samuel L. Jackson. His message for voters: "Wake the f**k up!"

Also yesterday, the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) released a 9 minute "mini-documentary" called "Perilous Times," in which they attack Obama for his treatment of Netanyahu and question his pro-Israel credibility.

Among other notable campaign ads from the Jewish community are RJC's "Deeds" and JCER's "Let My People Vote 2012" with Sarah Silverman.

Watch them all below, and click here for the full "Perilous Times" video.
