Rainbows too politically charged for Catholic school
Unlike a bag of Skittles, Canadian schools are not tasting the rainbow. In fact, they’re straight discouraging the use of rainbows. Period.
Why? After all, rainbows are the sign of God’s covenant that he will never again flood the earth, right? Yes, but according to the Dufferin-Peel Catholic school board, rainbows are just too ... gay.

It’s a bit difficult to tell from this story, but what I gather is that there has been a push for clubs at Catholic high schools that combat homophobia. At the same time, the Catholic Church condemns homosexuality as sinful, so schools are finding themselves in a precarious position. The compromise has been groups like “Open Arms” at St. Joseph’s.
