Princess cruise skips Israeli port town

The waters of the Israeli port town of Ashdod, where the activists arrested on the now-infamous aid flotilla were detained, are a bit too choppy for Princess Cruises. Today the cruise line canceled a stop there.

A Princess Cruises spokeswoman told USA Today the ship was skipping the port call because of “the ongoing potential for unexpected violent protests” sparked by the flotilla incident.

The ship did make a scheduled visit to Haifa yesterday.
