Obama’s faith advisory council

Speaking of President Obama and religion, the president recently made some new appointments to his faith advisory council. From CNN’s Belief Blog:

In a statement released by the White House the President said, “I am pleased to announce that these experienced and committed individuals have agreed to join this Administration, and I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead.”

The Belief Blog has short bios of each of the 12 appointments. Stephen Prothero gave this quick analysis: “Obama’s new Faith Council seems to have 8 Christians and 2 Jews. Not exactly a multireligious group, is it?”
