June 5, 2009 Obama: Buchenwald ‘ultimate rebuke’ to Holocaust deniers |
![]() Buchenwald Memorial After giving a well-received speech at Cairo University—at least one American Jew (Jewish Journal editor-in-chief Rob Eshman) gave it an A—President Obama traveled to the Buchenwald concentration camp today and said the site stood as the “ultimate rebuke” to Holocaust deniers. JTA reports:
Obama also called out Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, possibly the most-infamous living denier after David Irving, for the second time in as many days. “He should make his own visit,“ Obama said. “I have no patience for people who would deny history. And the history of the Holocaust is not something speculative.“ That, however, could result in Ahmadinejad’s arrest under Germany’s anti-denial law. |
