The Virgin Mary was a devout, practicing Jew who lived a virtuous life. To capitalize on her status in order to sell pictures of naked women is really profane and tasteless.

I believe that Playboy got the idea from the new anti-Catholic book by Charles Webb.  “Sex with THE Virgin Mary” published by thekickasspress.com mocks the Roman Catholic Church and all its tenets

I have never been to Mexico but a friend of mine went to medical school there, and told me that there is an absolutely bizarre assortment of symbols in evidence like crosses, swastikas, stars of David etc., sometimes on the same windshield. It’s a mixed-up place.

clearly there is satire being used here, to poke a little fun at the church and sell magazines. in a free society, commentary like this must be protected, and should never be appologised for. shame on playboy US for saying they were sorry and denying involvement.

I just happened over to you website and saw this.  Wow! I think she is stunning.  Is there not always some sexual tension with the BMV (Blessed Virgin Mary)? At least there was with this altar boy.  You come of age up on the altar looking at the statues.  Compared to the other saints, she is quite lovely.  But the religious art work really takes the sexuality out of her.  I.E. flat chest.  You sit there thinking, “why couldn’t they have given her more top?”
I apologize for thinking that instead of concentrating on my duties at the time.
Anyway, again.  Very nice.

To me, this girl does not look like the Virgin Mary as painted and sculpted by Italian artists. None of us know what Mary looked like. I remember the pictures and statues of Virgin Mary for her lovely face. Like Jasno, I was once an altar boy.
This lovely Maria Florencia Onori, is just a typical Argentinian girl.
“Te adoramos, Maria” may sound like Latin but it is Spanish. Most girls of Spanish speaking countries are called Maria.
So what is the fuss about?

wait, you think jesus and mary WEREN’T jews? jesus was initally there to try and reform the jewish church, like any of the old school prophets. he grew up jewish and he died jewish. they even (mockingly) called him ‘king of the jews.’ If anything, jesus looked like any other jewish boy. Don’t be ignorant.

You think Mary even existed?  She is a literary device. The so-called new testament conveys meaning, not fact.  Note also that as the concept of God becomes too abstract, we choose something more understandable.  As Jesus became too Hellenized and perfect, Mary took over as the human link to the divine.  I’m just sayin’

It seems to me it isn’t the first time PLAYBOY provokes Christians. They think that mocking any religion is one of the best ways to destroy its grip over the masses? But it’s just annoying.
