Six degrees of separation: Obama and anti-Semitism

Posted by Brad A. Greenberg

Barack Obama has courted Jews early and often in his rapid political ascendancy, even if he did falter a bit in May. But there have been some rumors circulating that Obama’s not the philo-Semite he seems to be, culminating in a Richard Cohen column in today’s Washington Post.

Barack Obama is a member of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama’s spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright’s daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said “truly epitomized greatness.” That man is Louis Farrakhan.

Maybe for Wright and some others, Farrakhan “epitomized greatness.” For most Americans, though, Farrakhan epitomizes racism, particularly in the form of anti-Semitism. Over the years, he has compiled an awesome record of offensive statements, even denigrating the Holocaust by falsely attributing it to Jewish cooperation with Hitler—“They helped him get the Third Reich on the road.” His history is a rancid stew of lies.

M.J. Rosenberg sees something more insidious at play here: Dirty politics.

the whispers about Obama go like this. “You know, Obama’s minister is a big Farrakhan supporter.” “He’s also Muslim, or half Muslim.” “He studied in a madrassa.” “And he’s very anti-Israel.”

No one knows if any campaign is behind these charges. According to the informative analysis and poll by Shmuel Rosner in Ha’aretz, the right-wing of the Jewish community does not like Obama and strongly favors Giuliani and Clinton because of their hardline stances on Israel.

But I don’t think any campaign is behind this round of swiftboating because it bears all the markings of the Jewish far right, the camp that cheered Rabin’s assassination. Nevertheless, the smears will have an effect, regardless of its origins. It will be felt on Super Tuesday when hundreds of thousands of Jews vote in New York, California, and elsewhere.

It’s pretty ugly and today columnist Richard Cohen is taking it mainstream. Check out his column in the Washington Post. He shares the story of Obama’s Farrakhan-admiring minister and sounds the alarms to Jews everywhere. He demands Obama repudiate the pastor. What idiocy! ...

Cohen should be ashamed. But, rest assured, none of the people involved in the race-baiting of Barack Obama are capable of it.

Considering the number of Jews involved in Obama’s campaign, from the most official level to the grassroots, it’s hard to believe he’s really a closet Jew hater.

He’s definitely a Jew hater, and not a closet one in opinion.

This might be an entirely subliminal thing but Obama’s haircut and appearance always has reminded me of those bow-tie wearing Nation of Isalm people.

BTW, Obama is trying to portray himself as a Christian. A good Christian? Not in my opinion. He worked with the Gamaliel Foundation, whose agenda is wholly against traditional Christian beliefs such as abortion.

You should check out the Gamaliel Foundation. I also covered the public and private meetings of one of their affliate group and can say from first hand experience they are nothing but a control group. Very manipulative, too.

Members go for two weeks of Leadership Training during which they analyze biblical battles and use this knowledge to deceive and control others.

By all means, check out Obama and his work at the Gamaliel Foundation.

Don’t the media people ever get tired of shoving their candidate, Barak Obama, down the throats of Americans? From the beginning, we have had to endure their constant media bias and the lop sided promotion of THEIR candidate. They are supposed to report the news fairly, with an even hand, providing equal coverage and exposure for both candidates. The media may be able to influence the news, but they’re loosing their credibility in the process.

Obama’s proposal of CHANGE requires sound judgement to determine which things should change, and which things should be kept, cherished and embraced. Unfortunately Obama and his left wing supporters want to throw out the baby with the dirty bath water. They have no appreciation of U.S. history, or the blood, sweat, and sacrifice it’s taken to make America the greatest country in the world. They seem to believe that before you can create change, first you must discredit, or destroy everything that’s come before. Obama relies on young voters apathy and ignorance of American history and tradition, which makes it easier for them to buy into CHANGE, without any sense of what kind of change is needed. Evidence of this, is Obama supporters embracing his disrespectful alteration of the Presidential seal, to further his personal ambition. Or, Obama’s black liberation church discrediting Thomas Jefferson, because of an alleged affair with a black slave. If Obama is elected President, America’s history will be gradually revised, and I predict that America will become barely recognizable.

What’s most disturbing is how Obama is above reproach. It’s become almost blasphemy to criticize him in anyway. Kudos to John Stewart for pointing this out in his comedy routine, but he’ll probably catch flack for that, just like the rest of us. It’s as if Obama has been packaged and sold to us as some kind of diety, when he’s nothing more than a junior senator, with a thin resume, who voted present a hundred times at his job.

You need to read the blog about Obama’s GOP backers that are Pro-Palestine and Anti-Israel.  Does AIPAC know?

In the closet; out in the open?  Obama is anti-Israel.

You need to FORCE the LA Times to release the video tape that shows Obama attending a Jew bashing event and toasting Rashid Khalidi.

You had better think before you vote Nov. 4th!

Obama has not been forthright in telling Americans who he is, who he has been associated with, or what he will do if elected. If the media had done its job in vetting Obama from the beginning ... and if 18 months ago Americans knew what they know today about Obama, he would never have made it this far. I would be willing to bet that there are still volumes that we don’t know about Obama, and even more Obama is not telling us about what he would do once elected. We also don’t know where much of his 600 million dollars in campaign contributions came from ... possibly foreign nationals. Obama’s donations are literally enabling him to buy the Presidency of the United States. And then there’s Acorn, and voter fraud, which all seems to be favoring Obama. A socialistic agenda will ruin America ... whose 200+ year capitalistic ideology has made us the country where everyone wants to live ... even at risk of life and limb! It’s pretty obvious that McCain loves America, not just in words, but in deeds that cost him dearly. I don’t mind some changes, but changing our entire free enterprise system for socialism is NOT change I can believe in. I don’t trust Obama. I think he will say or do anything to get elected. These are just some of the reasons I’m voting for McCain/Palin on November 4th.
