Protesters chain themselves to Israeli consulate entrance

Posted by Brad A. Greenberg

My wife messaged me this morning to say Wilshire Boulevard had been shut down outside the Israeli consulate building. The reason? The protest that VideoJew Jay Firestone reports on in the video above. The protest, organized by the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, led group members to chain themselves to the entrance of the consulate building, preventing anyone from getting in and prompting consulate officials to tell workers not to bother coming in.

Danielle Berrin has more details. The money quote from one anti-Zionist organizer: “I don’t believe Hamas is a terrorist organization.”

And I, sir, don’t believe I can take you seriously.

So one organizer say this, and it’s OK to dismiss them all? I think Israel acts in the manner of a terrorist state, but I still think that they should be negotiated with. The same goes for Hamas and the Palestinians. Don’t forget, Hamas arose with the help of Israel when they sought a “divide and conquor” approach to the Palestinians.

While Jewish anti-Zionism saddens and disgusts me, it doesn’t surprise me.  Jews are known for being politically active.  So many “-isms” throughout history has intelligent, well-meaning Jews involved in them that why wouldn’t there be Jewish anti-Zionists?

The question on my mind is when there will be a Muslim American group that chants “U.S. Muslims say not in our name” in front of the Saudi Arabian consulate or the United Nations building or similar area.  If there has been an instance of this in recent years, please respond with a link or source.

Just because your Jewish doesn’t mean you can’t be a bunch of idiotic assholes.

Useful idiocy has its role in the world. The problem is that the people they are trying to protect would be just as happy to kill them too. Ignorance in the name of justice still leads to death.

From: The Palestinians, in Israeli officials’ own words

Anees, our Jerusalem correspondent, offers this roadmap of the Israeli relationship to the Palestinian minority:

Early 1970’s: “We have no solution… You [Palestinians] shall continue to live like dogs, and whoever wishes may leave, and we will see where this process leads.”

– Moshe Dayan (1915-1981) served as Chief of Staff of the IDF, defense minister, and leader of the Labor party in Israel. He said these words in a talk with members of his Labor cabinet.
