Sarah Palin was in town yesterday for a rally in Carson. In the following video, which is after the jump, Shelly Mandell, the L.A. president of the National Organization for Women says Palin is “what a feminist looks like.”
Mandell gets booed when she says she is a lifelong Democrat, “but I know Sarah Palin cares about women’s rights, she cares about equality, she cares about equal pay, and as vice president she will fight for it. ... Change must come to Washington and Sarah Palin has what it takes to lead that charge. ... She is a reformer who will break up that ol’ boys network.”
What the video doesn’t show is Palin’s comment that Barack Obama would “pal around with terrorists.”
Sadly, this passes as political rhetoric. We’ve heard before from John McCain that Obama would endanger Israel because he’s not hardline enough. I disagree. Of course, this association still draws suspicion that Obama seeks to change American course in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and his connection to Bill Ayers doesn’t help his street cred. But Palin has definitely taken past claims to a new level.

How about Palin hanging around—and accepting blessings from—a witch-craft believing African pastor who thinks ‘Israelites’ run the economy?
http://www.jewishjournal.com/video/article/video_palin_pastor_israelites_run_the_economy_20081001/
Oh, come on. An elected official accepting blessings from various characters is like kissing babies and eating pigs’ knuckles.
As long as it is intended as a compliment, it is only amusing that someone thinks we ‘run’ the economy. And Jews are Israelites. When we were just clans descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob we were (as a whole) Hebrews. In the events surrounding Sinai we became Israelites. We are Jews today because most branches of the Israelite nation in the brreakaway kingdom of Israel were exiled by Assyria and we derive from the Judean kingdom, comprised of Judah and Benjamin with a sprinkling of Kohanim and Levites. But until the ingathering the Jews are the sole authorized representative remnant of the Israelites. An outsider would not be expected to know or care about those details.
But to the topic (doin’ my Chris Rock), it’s about damn time. That statement by Shelly Mandell was incredibly strong and morally clear. Great lines following on POW! POW! POW! Too bad she couldn’t speak in the name of the corrupt hyprocrites at Big Sister NOW, who are evidently constrained from making common sense by orders from the Party Commissariat Czentral. Shades of Ms. Magazine rejecting the ad for Israeli feminists.
And Bill Ayers is a recently unrepentant and remorseless terrorist. A day before 9/11 he said that he was sorry he didn’t bomb some more.
I want to her to denounce this anti-Semitic pastor.
Your sentiment is ok. I’m just not feelin’ it. If you watch the tape he said it in a complimentary way. And above all it is just a fishbone from the bottom of the trash can. I guarante this character is not a part of Palin’s life, or of anybody much at all. it’s not as if she and her family spent twenty years with him. A candidate has to prioritize. If she were to mention it she would have to spend more time explaining what it was about than denouncing.
I would like to comment.
That it is Christianity that build this strong nation.
It was the willing of the Christian pilgrims that God use to build this country.
It was because christians believe so much in Israel as the people of God that decided to help them during second world war and open the Doors of this nation to them.
But there is a small problems americans are stepping away from Christianity and so will from Israel. This is not good. That means american are also stepping away from Bible/God’s principals and moral values and embracing liberalims and politics.
We might be able to get a Mcain today or a Palin but what about in the next elections, when I see the Universities full of kids who love liberalims and politics more than God or moral values.
ARE WE SITTING ON A SINKING SHIP?

Brad, thank you for posting the video so I could re-live that inspirational moment from the rally.
I loved Mandell’s saying of Palin, “This is what a feminist looks like.”
Mandell sees what I and a lot of women see: that Sarah Palin is an inspiration as a wife and mother who as Governor, tackled the oil companies and achieved a 5 billion dollar surplus for the state of Alaska - which led to her becoming the highest-rated Governor in the U.S.
For some Democrats, the DNC dumping of Hillary is causing them to vote for McCain-Palin. I am one of many lifelong Democrat Jews who are now voting Republican since my Party has aligned itself with far left anti-Israel groups and has now chosen a presidential nominee, Obama, who has many anti-Israel people on his campaign staff and among his friends.
Shelly Mandell, like Joe Lieberman, Lynn Forester de Rothschild and other Jewish-American Democrats, have the courage to put COUNTRY FIRST and to support the candidates who will best protect Israel. They also have the wisdom to see that here is an opportunity to finally put an exceptional woman into the White House.
Mandell is getting a lot of flack from the feminists, but some of them are supportive. You can read the comments here:

Thanks George. Many feel that America prospers for maintaining moral ideals. But there were always evil forces trying to counter them. It’s not just poliics, but when it is, In one generation they are Republicans, in another Democrats. Only God remains unchanging.
Ruth
Gotta give em partial credit for not deleting those. I wish I could read the ones they did delete. I wish we could bring them all over, but the one that went like this was well stated “Is it now the position of NOW that any woman who does not support the Obama/Biden ticket is not welcome in its organization?...
If you remove this brave woman from your organization because she voiced her own independent position, I hope she takes legal action against you.
You are now merely an arm of the Democrat Party, a party that marginalized women in this election, a party that stood by and said and did nothing when the most vile hateful sexism was leveled at Senator Clinton, and a nominee who leveled some of it himself.”
