More mini-Madoffs? Valley Jew accused of massive real estate fraud *

Swinder’s List has more bad news for the Jews:

Sherman Oaks-based mortgage banker Bruce Friedman, whose Friedman Charitable Foundation committed $10 million to the Children’s Museum of Los Angeles and $1 million to Brandon’s Village, a special-needs park in Calabasas, was indicted on securities fraud charges today by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC alleges Freidman, along with his two companies—Diversified Lending Group (DLG) and Applied Equities, Inc. (AEI)—perpetrated a $216 million real estate investment fraud, raising money from hundreds of investors nationwide, many of whom are seniors, promising guaranteed high returns via real estate investments.

The complaint alleges that Friedman diverted substantial investor money to ventures unrelated to real estate, and misappropriated at least $17 million to support his lavish lifestyle, including purchases of a luxury home, cars, vacations, jewelry, and designer clothing for himself and an alleged girlfriend.

The SEC has frozen DLG’s, AEI’s and Friedman’s assets.

So instead of allegedly working over the Jewish country club circuit, Friedman is accused of stealing from your bubbe and zadie. Oy. I don’t think I need to explain why this is bad for not just those who lost money but all Jews.

The charges against Friedman come three months after Bernard Madoff, a big macher who sat on the board of Yeshiva University, reportedly admitted to running a $50 billion Ponzi scheme—and that followed a collapse of the global financial markets that many, including 31 percent of western Europeans, blame on Jews.

I thought those numbers held true only for Europe, but I spoke Monday with Neil Malhotra, an associate professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business, and he told me his recent research yielded similar rate of Jewish blame here in the United States.

Last week I wrote:

Time magazine’s list this month of the “25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis” includes, by my count, six Jews – which means that more than 75 percent of the culpable were not Jewish. Among the blameworthy were former President Bush, disgraced subprime lender Angelo Mozilo and, ahem, the american consumer. There is little Jews can do to kill this old canard. But they can learn from the mistakes that enabled one of their own to use the communal bonds in American Jewry to orchestrate the biggest con in US history.

Though some Jewish money managers have proved to be scoundrels at best, like Shylock, it is not because they are Jewish – just as Christianity did not inspire Ken Lay to cheat Enron’s shareholders. Indeed, Jews may be the easy historical target, but scapegoating misses the moral of our own failures. The real responsibility lies with all of us.

And that is true. But the more Jewish names are connected with bad news and accused of financial misdoings, the harder it is to remind people that there isn’t some genetic or cultural connection.

I called Friedman’s office but could not reach him, or anyone. I really hope he’s innocent. Only that would be good for the Jews.

* Updated: Former KB Home chief Bruce Karatz also was indicted today too.

Fine title to feature on Google News you self-loathing hack. What writer of any merit or ability would ever dream of heralding, “Valley Catholic” or “Protestant” or any other ethic designation, (and especially when supposedly decrying its potentially deleterious effects?)  Furthermore, of what even vague relevance is it to discuss the religion of a man who for all you know hasn’t the slightest sense of Jewish self-hood or identity beyond his name? What in this world could possibly motivate such a loud and potentially dangerous clarion cry of self-contempt, (“Valley Jew..”) is an issue probably best left between you and your rabbi. And next time, do us all a favor, and keep it to yourself.

Jew or not, this guy is a nice man who tried to help people. I believe he is innocent until proven guilty.I can say this even after I lost my job as a result of this whole mess.

He who controls our money, controls our country. Greenspan, now Bernanke. World Bank - Wolfensohn, Wolfowitz, Zoellick. Biggest schemes at the moment - Madoff, Bruce Karatz, Bruce Friedman. Whether it was right or not, there is a reason Jews have been expelled from more countries and anyone else. Just as we can Right Wing Christians and Radical Islam, we have Jewish Extremists. We don’t need bankers. Our willingness to get into debt only makes prices rise. Rothschild, Lazard, Warburg, etc, should follow Sadaam Hussein

I believe it was Andrew Fastow who did all the stockholder screwing at Enron, not Kenneth Ley.  Ley’s crime was that he was not attentive to what his underling was doing, and he should have been.  In fact, he never should have hired Fastow in the first place given Fastows previous record.

I will accept the fact that only 6 Jewish individuals were among the 25 people believed most responsible for our collective financial mess. However, Jews constitute only about 3% of the population. I will leave the connection, if any, of A to B to others. I don’t get this self-loathing thing? Is any Jew who expresses any view other than tribal loyalty guilty of self-loathing? And I also don’t get this charity thing. It seems that every time there is an article about a financial crime involving Jews some of the money ends up in a charity named after the alleged criminal. A cultural thing?

Four of the five governors of the Federal Reserve Board are Jewish. Google “governors of the federal reserve board,” then click “About the Fed”. World Bank - Wolfensohn, Wolfowtiz, Zoellick. Bush Admin insider - Irving Lewis Liebowitz (Scooter Libby). Obama - Rahm Emmanuel. Homeland Security - Chertoff. Keeping Israel’s enemies ours. Major directors - Jewish. At 2% of world pop, they live in every country except Libya. These bankers give them local Jews money to buy up media and businesses. Wherever they cannot, they tap the US to install a democracy. This is why the US hates Castro. When he nationalized, Jews lost businesses and therefore control.

First I have to give it to Brad Greenberg and the JJ for allowing this open dialog. This “steal and give to charity thing” absolutely fascinates me. There have been discussions in the JJ about how these charities are non secular, but this is only nominally so. The bulk of these funds remain within the Jewish community. The money comes in from all sources but most of it never leaves. Over time wealth accumulates and creates privilege which leads to resentment and dialogs like this. The resentment is expressed, and then the inevitable dialog about “why they don’t like us” begin to appear. Fair is fair as long as everyone understands the rules, but most people have no understanding about how this system works.

Only 6 Jews amongst the 25 most culpable? TIME magazine is dominated by Jewish editors. That was merely clever, tactical reporting. Admitting a minority role in what is a thoroughly Kosher swindle. Very Jewish.

The reason these Jews create charitable foundations in their names is to hide their loot from taxation ... their foundations then send the money to fake Israeli charities. It is really just a money laundering technique and Israel will never send the money back or extradite any criminal jews either. Nuking Israel is probably the best move to save the world.

The biggest jewish heist of them all was announced on Sept 10, 2001 ....... when Rumsfeld had a press conference announcing that $2 trillion was missing from the Pentagon with Jewish Rabbi Dov Zakheim being the comptroller mastermind of the theft. But all the investigators at the Pentagon were killed the next day when Jewish traitor flew a cruise missile into the Pentagon. The “Chosen Master Race of G-d/Yhwh” are supposed to represent God on Earth. His creation, His perfection, kindness, and mercy. Because most Jews and I say most ,not all, have defiled His Name in all the countries in which HE scattered them, it is for this reason Jews were scattered to be punished for this defilement. He re-established Isreael not because Jews are better but ONLY to vindicate His own name and keep His promise as it is wriiten. When a Jew represents the “slay thy neighbor” attitude financially and otherwise because he/she thinks that he/she is of a “Master Race” think again. Jews who do evil to each other and others will be held even more accountable than Gentiles who commit the same crimes. Why? Because they make a mockery of God’s holy name and do so in HIS name. The Jews that belong to the synagogue of Satan will receive the harshest punishment because it is they who are most hypocritical. As it is written, the punishment of Sodom will be nothing compared to what is coming for the “evil doing” Jew. He who has most, then the most is expected. You can read the Talmud all you want, but you will reap what you sow and even more so for doing evil than the Gentile because you were given more blessings and choose instead to do evil with those blessings.  Dont believe it? Go ahead and wait, and we will see how the true Judgement plays out.

MOST OF YOU ARE OVERREACTING.  Lots of people commit fraud and crimes and that includes Jews and non-Jews.  Its no different from one group to another, ethnic, religious, whatever.  Many Jews are honest and would never defraud anyone.  So please, don’t categorically say we should be condemmed anymore than any other group or religion, otherwise you are guilty of bigotry.

Once again the jews were found at the scene of the arson( their favorite crime)  with a box of matches   but claim they are not guilty ... oh one did admit guilt -Mr Madoff. The rest are too dishonest . The Jews are always in middleman “produce nothing”  jobs . They are observably analytical rather than creative in intelligence .  For example there are plenty of great jewish scientists but few engineers ..or compare Jewish music with Irish music ..the later is soulful but the former is a racket .. ! And to be Creative you have to WORK in a REAL JOB i.e a job that which produces. The jews should value their greatest asset—CITIZENSHIP of the HOST   country - which they have frequently LOST and may do again . Roland Arnold has a point —why is it that every time a jew is caught with his hand in the till we are told about his ‘charity work ’ ..Funny sort of ‘charity’—By Charity do they mean ‘Israel’ or tax evasion or both? .
