Montauk Monster just a dead dog

Posted by Brad A. Greenberg

Photo

A new image from boingboing

The original image of this creature, seen here, left people a bit breathless. Was it a dog with a beak or a sea turtle with long legs? Were we glad it was found dead on a Long Island beach and not alive in Manhattan like the lice in “Cloverfield?” Was its appearance the beginning of The End?

Relax. Armageddon is not upon us, and from the looks of this new image of the Montauk Monster, the curious creature was nothing more than a badly decomposed dog.

That was, of course, the most obvious explanation early on. For more background and Monty the monster’s Jewish connection, read GeekHeeb.

HELLO PEOPLE LOOK AT THIS PIC, AND LOOK AT THE FIRST PIC.  THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT PICS.  THIS CURRENT PIC IS OF A DEAD DOG.  IF U WANT PROOF, LOOK AT THE TEETH AND MOUTH: THIS ONE HAS 2 SIDE TEETH LIKE A DOG AND THE MONTAUK MONSTER HAS A BEAK!!!

Use common sense here - obviously this is a badly decomposed dog. There is no beak, but what looks like a beak is clearly the decomposition of the dog’s snout. Just imagine a hairless dog - end of story.

WOW PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

clearly the first set and second set of photo’s are diffrent beasts!!!! the second set is just a dead dog! and by the looks of it the second set of photos where released to make people think its a dog, i think the first set was a raccoon, or something from the gov.&/or plum island.

It’s the same animal, just a different angle that makes the nose bone appear more beak-like. Take a look at the darker discoloration of the “beak” angle. You can see the same discoloration where it begins from this angle. It’s simply the exposed bone where the dog’s nose used to be. Take a look at a canine skull and you will see what I mean. Everyone so wants to believe in something outrageous that they refuse to see the facts. There was never a beak.

OK. YOU IDIOTS!! Its a DOG. My case…

1. it has FUR under its neck
2. It has the same teeth as a dog. Most likely a scavenger picked his nose or face off.
3. You know how hair still grows after your dead? Well those growths coming out of th hands might be its nails. THEY GROW TOO! Look at the hands without the growths. It looks like a dogs paws!!
4. Its back feet resemble a dogs
5. It has been decomposed so it doesn’t really LOOK the same. Though lots of the thigns about it are EXACTLY what a dog would look like.
6. It resembles a pit bull or a boxer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We thought its ears (it HAS ears) were set pretty far back from the face, but I showed my friend a picture of a pit bull. It was an EXACT twin to the one above. If any scientist are reading this, we’d just like to tell you we’re 12. Me and My friend figured this all out by a guess from one of our mothers. She said “Oh well it kinda looks like a dog to me.” And we figured out all the rest. REALLY. Look at this picture. ITS A PIT BULL.
Someone probably had a dog who died, put it in the ocean, and it washed ashore. OOORRRRRR it drowned in the water. Or something natural killed it. It IS a dog. A turtle is a possible choice but TURTLES DON’T HAVE FUR.

As you can tell, many people are believing its a dog..i also believe this BUT i dont think its a dog of our known knowlegde..Its face does NOT have a dip in it.The feet are webbed, and i have taken apart a dog in science class, the nose does NOT look like that underneath, clearly, its a new breed.

Nails do not continue to grow after one dies. Death is a process; and just as the body bloats after death, cuticles begin to recede causing nails to appear as if they are still growing. Your case is valid, as it IS your opinion. My own opinion remains to be seen, however I do not 100% believe it to be a dog. I do not 100% believe it to be anything in particular. I will not say it IS a dog, because I was not there to identify the poor creature (given that it is indeed real and not simply a hoax,) and I will not sit here at my computer and study a picture and out right declare it as any one thing. Thoughts, ideas, maybes, “it looks like” and “what if’s” are fine. Pretending I know what it is and telling everyone else they are idiots for continuing to wonder…well…that’s just silly.
