Livni joins chorus urging Israel’s Olmert to step down

Posted by Brad A. Greenberg

Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni’s statement today that it’s time for PM Ehud Olmert to step down and for their Kadima Party to move on was expected and well deserved. It was also a bit disingenuous.

I agree it is disingenuous but not for the reason you are hinting at, that she is in line for the top spot.

It is disingenuous because Livni played a leading role in leaving Israel militarily and diplomatically unprotected for the next Hezbollah war. The Sugar Plum Fairy troops of the UN and Lebanon brought in by the Livni Plan have long been sabatoging Israeli security, and Hezbollah has more and bigger and more deadly missile technology than in the past. The next war will begin with not dozens but thousands of Iranian missiles from the Dan/Naphtali/Asher region (‘Southern Lebanon’)hitting major Israel population centers on the FIRST DAY.

Even before the next war, it should be remembered that Livni was dissed, snubbed and ignored by everyone at the negotiations except for the New York Times, who love the idea of another weak and ineffectual head of Israeli government.
