Liberals at Pat Robertson’s Regent University

Back in October I picked up on a Los Angeles Times story about how Biola was getting surprisingly liberal with the formation of the Biola College Democrats—though not nearly as liberal as the Times made it seem. Now it seems a similar “revolution” is taking over the college founded by Pat Robertson, who really isn’t that popular with evangelicals.

Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va., the Christian school founded and run by televangelist Pat Robertson, has long had an active student Republicans’ organization. This is hardly surprising; Robertson sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1988, and has long been a supporter of conservative GOP politicians.

But the times they are a-changin. This year, for the first time, Regent has a young Democrats’ group.
