Rather than contributing to the mystery surrounding Ethiopia’s claims to the Ark, I think this incident rather helped clear up the mystery. Aksum, shmaksum.

I believe that the “ark of the covenant” (Heb.9:4) and “the ark of his (God’s) testament” (Re.11:9) are one in the same, and contain the “tables of the covenant” (Heb.9:4), the Ten Commandments.

I believe that the ark of the covenant/the ark of his testament is now in the temple of God in heaven (Re.11:19).

At the Seventh TRUMPET (1 Thess.4:16-17), the temple of God is opened in heaven to reveal the ark of His testament (Re.11:19).

And, again, at the GIVING of the Seven Last PLAGUES (Re.15:1-8), “the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened” (Re.15:5), wherein is contained “the ark of his testament” (Re.11:19), “the ark of the covenant” (Heb.9:4).

Ben: Keep your sarcasm to yourself and keep diging for the Ark. By the way I wish you a good luck. To the Christian Ethiopia, Aksum is a Holy city, as Holy as Jerusalem is to all Christians. Don’t expect you to be respectful, but I hope you try. As far The Ark of the Covenant, Ethiopians justify their possesion and they do not seem to care whether the world accepts it or not. Dare to prove them wrong! As far as the Italian media’s claim that Ethiopians will place the Ark in a museum, what can I say. After all they are Italians. (I hope you know past Ethio-Italian history).
If you read the Holy Bible, you would know how the Ark was cared for. The only person who cared for the Ark was the High Priest. A true Ark is not an artifact for public display. Some who tried to see it died. Read the Torah and come to your conclusion and then visit Aksum. If not, please leave Aksum alone.

You may be sure that in the Los Angeles Ethiopian Journal I speak of the the High Priest and holy Aksum with the greatest respect. And that is where you all should be patting yourselves on the back. What are you doing here? Priest, shmiest.

I am of the tribe Yehudi, of the nation Yisrael out the the clan Ivri. You know what Ivri (Hebrew) means? I didn’t think so. It means crossed-over, as Abraham crossed over the river physically and stood against the world alone ideologically. We respect your right to be wrong as long as you don’t bug us. Just as you said that Ethiopians ‘do not seem to care whether the world accepts it or not’, we feel the same way about our possession of the truth. If you ask us nicely and sincerely about the truth, we will try to give it to you. If not, have a nice day anyway.

I sure would not want to be the one to tell all of those celibate priests guarding Aksum that they gave it up for nothing.

Wrong assumtion,again. I don’t live in LA and you will never possess The Ark. As long as we are not proved wrong, the logic is, we are right. We do not “bug” for nothing. The Holy Book you read (if you ever read it)has a lot to say about Ethiopians, including being the chosen, maybe to protect the Ark.(Read the Book of Amos 9:7). Abraham is our father as he is yours. His place of birth, the lands his children lived in for many hundred of years (Egypt) is close to Ethiopia (actually Egypt is sometimes refered to as lower Ethiopia.) Moses (Moshe) was married to an Ethiopian. (You don’t marry an Ethiopian if you didn’t live in Ethiopia, at least in the old times).

Good to know you are Yehudi.If you refer Ivri to the Patriarch Abraham, and yourself a clan of Ivri, don’t you make an assumtion that Abraham is Not the Patriarch? As far as I know Abraham is the great- grandfather of Yehuda(Judah)and himself the descendant of the clan of Eber (the Prophet Heber). You see a clan is a sub-division of a tribe.
By the way do you know which river Abraham crossed?
Do you have to belong to the tribe of Yehudi to be an Israeli? What if I belong to the tribe of Dan or Joseph?or Benjamin? what if you are a great grandchild of Moses?
i have a great respect for the nation of Yisrael although I question the true Jewishness of European Jews.

As far as the “the celibate priests guarding the Aksum”, actually only one priest in his life time guards the Ark. Aksum is guarded by all Ethiopians, even the Jewish Ethiopians living the Israel or in Ethiopia. My brother Yoseph (Joseph) is one of them.

I don’t care where you live and frankly, I don’t care where the Ark is or if you possess it. Or if there are extraterrestrials or not. This I know: God knows where the Ark is, and the Ark will end up where it belongs at the right time. That’s how God works.

I also know that Amos was not an Ethiopian, and that in 9:7 he was not complimenting either the Jews or the Ethiopians (read it in context).

I also see that not only is Egypt (‘lower Ethiopia’?) nowhere near Ethiopia, it is north of it. Ethiopia is near Yemen if you want to be picky. I also know that Egyptians are not Ethiopian either.

Moses was married to a Midianite, not an Ethiopian. The mistake arises in translation of Cushis as Ethiopian when Midian was referred to as Cushan (see Habakkuk 3.7).

I don’t get your logic about Ivri but you obviously missed my point. Abraham was referred to as Ivri. This has the meanings of crossing over physically (the Euphrates) and ideologically. Abraham certainly was a descendant of Shem and Eber. After the war of the four and the five kings, the King Melchizedek, High priest of God, guardian of Jerusalem, birthplace of humanity, Shem himself, ancestor of Abraham bestowed upon Abraham the kingship and the priesthood. Just imagine sitting in Jerusalem for centuries and watching the Hamites (Canaanites) invade and displace the Semites! And who should appear out of the blue (at God’s command) but Abraham, a nice Semitic boy hundreds of miles from home, and defeat the foreign oppressors! Not as a smite but as a citizen of his future inheritance. A Messiah for his time.

Abrahams’s descendants were known as Hebrews (Ivri), and it is this I refer to as a clan or extended family unit. Jacob’s (Israel’s) sons were tribes (literally branches in Hebrew) and were collectively Israel(ites). The Jews of today are descendants of Judeans (‘West Bank’), together with the Benjamanites and Levites of the Southern Kingdom not exiled by the Assyrians. I might belong to the tribe of Benjamin myself for all I know. The other tribes are slated to rejoin us and the organization http://www.shavei.org is engaged in that process today.

Your questioning of the true Jewishness of European Jews unfortunately drops you many levels on my respect-o-meter. I can address ignorance but not foolishness. The term ‘European Jews’ puts the cart before the horse. There is no such thing. To real Jews, Jewishness is always the noun and European or African or Persian or whatever is always the modifier.

I think you are confusing dark hints and rumors with ‘facts on the ground’.

These are facts on the ground: God acted openly in Egypt, on Sinai, and in the Mishkan (Tabernacle) and Temple and on the Ark; the Torah is an open book, Israel has an open history, the Israelites (Jews) are and have always been living nation since God formed them. The history of the Jews is an open miracle and testimony to God’s work.

What you have is a legend that nobody believes but you which was interesting for five minutes when the Patriarch seemed willing to subject it to a reality check. If the Ark was revealed and authenticated as I suggested, the course of history would have changed and at the very least Ethiopia would have gained hundreds of millions of dollars from tourism and pilgrimages. But now, five minutes of Israeli television showing living Jews speaking the holy language is more interesting.

I won’t even bring up the fact that the account of the hiding of the Ark appears in the Hebrew prophets centuries after the undocumented and legendary Menelik I would have lived.

You guys can believe what you want. From the Jewish point of view the world is full of people with complicated explanations about how in spite of God’s unbreakable covenant with the Jewish people, he changed his mind, or the glory passed to someone else, or we misread the intention of the covenant, or the covenant is fulfilled in some other way, or there is a new covenant.

Either you have the Ark or you don’t. Either you want people to know about it or you don’t. What just happened is exactly what would happen if you don’t have it but want people to think you do.

Like Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate.

How can one gets confused, specially on topic special and touching your inside of your consciousness? Their are many possibilities for this.One can be, closing the conscious mind which understands the fact, other can be undermining others and believes they are the only for everything ,etc.

Their are two facts in the real world, you work hard anything,i.e true work and folse work,to have money and be rich.By the same token,their are few who works and serves their faith, until they pass.

GOD has his own choise,He gave the power to Moses, to teach his people and gets benefits from the Arc of his testament <Those who beleive and respect>.In the long run this big gift passes to be gaurded by a simple monk in Ethiopia.

Their is no harm to find this big gift in Ethiopia. After all,Ethiopia is part of the world.GOD has given to all to believe by their own will.It isnot matter the whereabout, It the believes that matters.Thanks to his holliness our patriarch declaired the where about of the big gift.We have to enjoy together.

I don’t see anything to disagree with here. I don’t happen to believe that the ark is in Ethiopia but I see no harm in anyone else believing it. One reason I don’t believe it is the story related in 1 Samuel Chapter 5. I am sure you have an answer for that but that answer is not to produce the Ark so what’s the difference? God will produce the Ark in his time and make the question irrelevant.

If nobody can see it and it is not subject to verification by people who are qualified like those I mentioned elsewhere like the Temple Mount Faithful http://www.templemountfaithful.org/ and the Temple Mount Institute http://www.templeinstitute.org/, and the scholars at http://www.templemount.org/ like Rabbi Chaim Richman, then it is an academic discussion with no practical application on anyone else. If the Jews bought into everything that other authorities say about them and the world, they would have gone out of business a long time ago.

I don’t see any harm reading the Holly Bible, but we should differentiate reading the Bible and other day to day books. To understand the real meaning in the Holly Bible you should pray to “GOD"to understand what it says for yourself. I really do appreciate your courteous and positive tone, and I want you to know that when I disagree it not to be disagreeable but to share the thinking behind the disagreement.

It is true that as a revelation from God the Bible has unlimited depth and meaning that we spend lifetimes discovering. At the same time the Bible is not a glowing crystal or image or even obscure poetry but a book written in the language of men (sometimes in the form of a slang expression) that is overwhelmingly clear in its meaning and intention. If the Bible says somebody went somewhere and said something and something happened, then that is how it was, even while we can understand it in a larger sense that does not essentially contradict the plain text, and connect the dots to gain new insights.

On top of everything else, the Bible itself directs each and every one of us to study it and know it and live by it. The authorities we rely on gain their authority by open means and their instructions are completely transparent as to their sources and reasons. Otherwise, the Bible may as well just be shut up in a box while we rely on ‘specialists’ to tell us what to do.

On the other hand, you would like us to simply accept the word of the Patriarch about a super secret restricted object and call it that a fact on the ground. It is known that there several copies or replicas of the Ark in Ethiopia as well. Anything is possible, and I would not try to discourage you in your belief, but we are not seeing any evidence to discuss seriously.

Since you are not an American I will explain. The American Constitution requires that the President be not just a citizen, but born within the borders of the United States and not in Mombosa, Kenya. You may call that racist, but that is the way it is. I don’t happen to know the law about the leader in Kenya or Ethiopia, but I am just guessing that they are not white, foreign or Jewish.

Anyway, President Obama has never produced the required documentation that shows he meets the requirements for candidacy for US President. Investigators have discovered that he was born Barry Soetoro in Mombasa, Kenya, and Obama has spent millions of dollars on legal actions to prevent Hawaiian hospital records to be released, and his college and university and law school applications that show his origins and status as a foreign student to be released. He is also having numerous lawsuits squashed and dismissed and not judged on the merits.

Anyway, the reason I brought it up is that the process of claiming that something is true while preventing anyone from getting a look at it is the same for this situation as the one of claiming that the Ark is in Ethiopia but not letting anyone see it.

It’s too bad you ran of time to communicate with me before dealing with all of the detailed information I provided you. I leave the whereabouts and the fate of the Ark to God. While I doubt that the Ark is in Ethiopia, 1 Samuel Chapter 5 would go a along way to explainign why Ethiopia is in such a miserable condition. But in light of your delusions about European Jews, I doubt you have the attention span to discuss anything intelligently.

I totally agree that the Holly Bible is open for all,to study it and know it and live by it. <It is your own choise> But stdying and disseminating the truth of the Holly Bible to others reqiuers to be chosen by him.

My friend don’t be mistaken when you say the Holly Bible is written by the language of men.This is a big mistake.GOD created man in his inspiration i.e The Father,The San and the Holly Spirit by the same token he created man with this inspiration i.e our body/it serves here,our soul/it serves in Paradise and our     spirit body/serves here and in Haven.

Good Spirit and Bad Spirit are ordered by two extremes.The followers of Jesus Christ where chosen by him and these Holly men wrote the new testament.The old testament is written by Moses,Henok,etc.

In my religion the Bible is Old+ New testament written by chosen men throught Good Spirit(inspierd men)by GOD.

This is what i know ,Be poor in spirit,don’t make yourself up up,Just Follow him,you know everything.

Let’s bear in mind I am speaking from the Jewish point of view.

I didn’t say the Bible is written by the words of men. I said it was written IN the words of men. That is what makes it miraculous. It is a physical artifact like the Ark, but it communicates with all directly and engages all of a person.

And in Deuteronomy 30 11-14
11 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”
14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

These ideas are deep but they speak to all. And if anyone knew what he was talking about it was Moses. Obviously we have standards and rules and tests for whom we accept as great men and teachers and authorities. But their place is earned, not chosen.

For me i fill like this for 1. yes, it is written by men on the ground, but, the good spirit we had tells us to write we are told by GOD.

For me i fill like this for 2. Yes,their are great men who earned thier name through hardship in different areas.But, GOD chose them for different tasks.Because, every task in Christianity has many obstacles,and you have to proof, you are his follower.After death you name come out in success.

What makes me think that you are not an American is that you made a point of insisting you are not in LA and the fact that English is obviously not your first language and you misunderstand so many things. But if you are an American which you didn’t exactly say, that’s fine.

Obama won a bif electoral victory because of a smart campaign and media support, but a very small popular victory if any because about half the people did not choose him as a leader. My opposition to him is not based on his name or his race. In fact, his race is the only good thing about him.

If you saw the website http://www.obamacrimes.info/ you can see that the lawsuits agiant him are based on facts, and the prosecutor who is bringing the lawsuits has said he will drop them immediately if Obama produces a valid birth certificate. Is that too much to ask? Should a policeman trust a person that he has a valid drivers license?

It turns out that there is no agency of the government that certifies the legitimacy of a candidate if a party has put him forward. This is a loophole.

The verse in Psalms refers to after the destruction of Esau and Ishmael when the Messiah arrives. None of that has happened. Keep repeating that the Ark is in Aksum, Ethiopia since is seems to make you feel better.

Its sad to see so many stuck in the end times today. People must learn to look at the bible for what it is. A creation by a corrupt elite of humanity to control and enslave the rest. The bible says what is going on today but this is to keep the common people sitting down to watch it rather than stop the population reduction and mass enslavement of humanity brought on by these elites. You cannot turn away from the fact that Christianity from the start was changed and manipulated to benefit those in power and this has never changed.
