  • Tony Alamo to take stand in sex-crime case

    The prosecution has completed its argument in the sex-crime trial of oddball religious leader Tony Alamo. Now this morning, Alamo, against the advise of his defense attorneys, walked into court and said he will take the stand.

  • Minister wins right to curse judge

  • U.S. attorney general meets with Muslim youths in L.A.

    Attorney General Eric Holder’s trip to Los Angeles last week received plenty of attention. But one detail that wasn’t publicized was his visit to Omar Ibn Al Khattab Foundation, a mosque and community center near USC:

    “The point was to engage the Muslim community here in Los Angeles and make sure they understand this administration’s commitment to work with that community,” Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

  • Praying for a captured US soldier

    Army Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl, 23, was serving in Afghanistan when he went missing this month. Yesterday he turned up in a propaganda video released by the Taliban. Now his small hometown of Haily, Idaho, is coming together and praying for Bergdahl’s safe release.
