    By Brad A. Greenberg

    From the RNS Blog:

According to a Harris poll released yesterday, more Americans (aged 18 and older) pick Barack Obama as their hero than choose Jesus.

JC came in #2, followed by MLK, Reagan, W, and Honest Abe.

    God came in 11th.

Then all 2,634 participants in the poll were struck by lightning.

  • Beheadings and so-called ‘honor killings’

    By Brad A. Greenberg

    February 23, 2009 | 4:59 pm

As I was driving from the South Bay to the Valley on Friday, a drive that took 85 minutes to go 30 miles, I heard a report on NPR about a Muslim woman whose decapitated body had been found at the Muslim TV station her husband owned in Buffalo. Aasiya Hassan’s husband, Muzzammil, had... read on

Back in the fall, our arts and entertainment editor asked me if I wanted to write a feature about David Zucker’s new film “An American Carol.” The catch: we wouldn’t get to see the movie. I declined, and when I made the mistake last night of renting “An American Carol” I understood... read on

My friends’ Twitter and Facebook updates have been blowing up with reaction to Bill Maher’s presentation at the Oscars for best documentary, during which he trashed God and bemoaned the ignorance of the Academy for overlooking his irreligious documentary, “Religulous.”

    My favorite... read on

  • George Bush gets Jewcy

    By Brad A. Greenberg

    February 20, 2009 | 3:00 pm

Instead of just lamenting the demise of Jewcy’s funding, I decided to do my part to save the online Jewish magazine. I’m no messiah, not even a Maccabee—so I guess no holidays are in store for my legacy—but I had a short piece published on Jewcy this morning about the Iraqi... read on

  • Christian monks gone wild

    By Brad A. Greenberg

    February 20, 2009 | 12:41 pm

Almighty God sent along this somewhat satirical video of monks brawling in Jerusalem. The fighting is real, but the video game points and commentators are not. The fracas occurred in November, and was covered here by the BBC.

Since launching the blog in 2007, I’ve referred to myself as “a God-fearing Christian with devilishly good Jewish looks.” The description, I’d say, is an accurate one,...
