Many Jews have been on the move recently. Adam Podlesh, Lawrence Frank, and Jason Kipnis. Now add Jason Marquis who was traded from the Washington Nationals to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks sent shortstop Zach Walters.
Marquis was 8-5 with a 3.95 ERA. He signed a big contract last year with the Nationals, but was injured most of the season. He has bounced back nicely this season.

Congrats to Lawrence Frank who will officially be walking the sidelines for the Detroit Pistons. Frank signed a three year deal. He will have a lot of work to do as the Pistons had a horrible year and will probably begin a rebuilding process.
Mazel Tov to Frank! To read more click HERE.

I am happy to announce that the Chicago Bears have reached a 5-year deal with punter Adam Podlesh. Podlesh has been one of the most consistent punters in the game. Very excited to have Podlesh join Gabe Carimi on the Bears. That makes 2 yids on the team. 8 more and we have a minyan. To read more about Podlesh click HERE.

An article came across my email from Jacques Gliksberg, long time supporter of TGR. Great story about former Florida Gator Alex Tyus.
Tyus ended his college basketball career last year but unfortunately went undrafted. He has since decided to play in Israel for Maccabi Ashdod. Tyus, and his wife, converted to Judaism at the end of college and even held their draft party at Florida’s Hillel. Hillel must be doing something right with Tyus and Chicago Bear Gabe Carimi being so involved.
Another great story and talent headed to Israel. To read more about this incredible Jewish story click HERE.
Hope Tyus can get to the Association soon.

Jason Kipnis has recently been called up by the Cleveland Indians. To date Kipnis has played in 2 games going 2 for 10 with two base hits (single and double). But that base hit was Monday’s game winner in the ninth against the Angels.
The Rangers have called up Scott Feldman for the DL. Feldman has pitched in 2.0 innings. He has no decisions, 1 K, and 4.50 ERA after allowing 2 hits and a run on Monday.
Hopefully they can both pick up their play.

It looks like the Detroit Pistons might have lost their Jewish owner, but gained a Jewish coach. Sources say the Pistons will name Lawrence Frank head coach in a matter of days. To read more click HERE.
Most recently Frank was on Doc Rivers’ bench in Boston. Before that he was the head coach of the New Jersey Nets, where he had plenty of early success.
Once the word is official we will update you all.

I am not happy when anyone gets hurt, but I am not horribly upset that Grady Sizemore is headed for a short stint on the DL. Why? Well, it means two things.
1) A top Indians player is out helping the White Sox.
2) Finally, Jason Kipnis gets called up the major leagues. To read more click HERE.
We will be following Kipnis. Congrats to the young second baseman from Northbrook.
