As promised we will be covering the Gabe Carimi story extra closely since he is now a Chicago Bear. Here is the press thus far surrounding the O-Lineman. Apparently he is the guy the Bears wanted all along.

Mazel Tov Gabe Carimi

Posted by Jeremy Fine

Mazel Tov to the newest Chicago Bears Gabe Carimi who was drafted 29th in the NFL Draft. Looks like TGR will be all over the Carimi coverage. And I think Chris Berman made a Jewish joke “Looks like the Bears didn’t Pass-Over Carimi.” Welcome to the Windy City.

Jewish Stars Shining

Posted by Jeremy Fine

These past few weeks the professional Jewish Athletes have been shining. Take a look:

Sam Fuld - Besides being a daily web gem Fuld has been great at the plate as well. As of today he is 3rd in the AL in batting with a .350 average (solid pace to be Jewish MLBer of the Year).

Ryan Braun - Braun leads the majors in Home Runs with 9. He is also second in RBIs behind fellow teammate Prince Fielder. His hitting has gotten him a 5 year contract extension.

Mike Cammalleri - While the Canadians just got eliminated, Cammalleri got his final punch in during game six scoring once and adding two assists.

Gabe Carimi - He hasn’t done much this week, but this weekend look for his name to be called in the first round of the NFL draft (maybe early second).

Jordan Farmar - Farmar has been out of action since the playoffs began but ended the season on a high with 13 assists and 23 points in a start for the Nets.

Jason Marquis - Picked up his second win making him 2-0 in 4 starts. Much better than last season.

Dmitriy Salita - Salita fought for the third time in 8 months beating Ronnie Warrior Jr.

Colt Cabana - Colt continues to tour the USA defending his NWA title. His next match is Saturday night (and Sunday) in East Rutherford NJ.

Kane - With partner Big Show, Kane captured the WWE Tag Team Titles.

And Let Us Say…Amen.

NBA Regular Season Comes to End

Posted by Jeremy Fine

Last night in a rare start Jordan Farmar showed that he can play with the best. He dropped 21 points and handed out 12 assists. Farmar ended the season averaging 9.6ppg while shooting 39.2% from the field.  He dished out 5.0 apg and pulled down 2.4rpg.

Omri Casspi only played 4 minutes in the team’s final game that resulted in an overtime loss to the Lakers. He averaged 8.6ppg, with 1 apg, and 4.3rpg.

Rough year for the Jewish basketball players even though Farmar showed signs of life near the end.

And Let Us Say…Amen.
