After graduating from the Marshall School of Business at USC in 2004, Samira Asemanfar of Los Angeles California joined KPMG, LLP as an internal auditor and SOX compliance consultant. It was her first job out of college and Samira was excited to enter the business world as a member of one of the world’s most prestigious accounting firms.

Fast forward ten months and Samira had run into a common dilemma many entrepreneurs experience right before their decision to start a business: the woes of a corporate career. Frustrated with the mundane day-to-day activities, Samira realized that corporate America did not satisfy her drive so Samira took a risk and walked away from what many perceived was the ‘perfect job’. And so began her entrepreneurial journey.

Samira always kept a ‘bucket of ideas’ that she would pursue given the right opportunity. After leaving KPMG, Samira referred back to her bucket of ideas to create her own new path. Samira, a nail biter turned manicure-addict had been frequenting nail salons all over Los Angeles since the age of 12. However, most of the nail salons she encountered lacked professionalism, style, comfort and most of all cleanliness! To address these issues, Samira set out to open the first branded, high-end nail salon in Los Angeles.

Bellacures opened its doors February 2006. Since then, Bellacures has received countless accolades and a devoted clientele that is committed to the Bellacures brand.

Bellacures was chosen Best of LA by Los Angeles Magazine in 2006, Best of CitySearch.com in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and was awarded 2007’s Fox 11’s HotList Winner.

In 2009, Samira was awarded the Small Business Administration’s “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” Award for Los Angeles. Samira has also been a member of the Step Up Women’s Network, Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO), and National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

Samira opened a second Bellacures location in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles in February 2010 and is now offering franchises of Bellacures Nail Salons! The first franchised location opened in July 2010 on the trendy Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Other franchised locations include, Larchmont Village, opened in January 2011 and Studio City, opened in February 2011. Stay tuned for more locations…
