Tamara Shayne Kagel is a twenty-something fixture on the Los Angeles scene currently living in Santa Monica. Currently, Tamara is a successful freelance writer (just ask her Grandmother) who has written numerous feature and tv screenplays and is a regular contributor to 944 Magazine. She is an irresponsible lover of all things art, literary, food, fashion, nightlife and anything else that is typically labeled elite. She goes to temple at Adat Ari El on high holidays and spends the rest of the year feeling guilty about not being more Jewish.
Her story began when her parents, at a very young age, led her to believe that her looks, talent, and abilities were far superior to what they indeed may be. She is a native Angeleno which is why she doesn’t date in the Valley. She is a graduate of Northwestern University where she was twice the Vice President of Associated Student Government and still denies all allegations made about her in The Daily Northwestern. Despite this blog, she obtained her law degree from Pepperdine University in May 2011 and was sworn into the California State Bar in Dec 2011. She is also a proud member of American Mensa. Tamara is semi-retired from her life as a modern dancer and company member of Los Angeles Choreographers and Dancers. She is fully retired from a storied career as a fine dining waitress. An early stint at A-Z Entertainment in Chicago as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah dancer lead to a permanent phobia of the YMCA song.
Tamara plans to share with you all the exploits of being young, pretty, and fabulous while searching the Los Angeles jungle for love, happiness, and a career where she can get off her parent’s cellphone plan. She hopes writing will lead to fame and fortune. Otherwise, she plans to marry well.
