Parade, day of unity mark Lag B’Omer

Two major community events marked the relatively minor holiday of Lag B’Omer on April 28, bringing some bombast — and thousands of people — to local celebrations.

Hundreds make pilgrimage to Tunisian synagogue

Hundreds of Jews gathered on Tunisia's Djerba Island as part of a pilgrimage to the 2,500-year-ol d El Ghriba synagogue.

May 17-27, 2011

Party in Pico-Robertson with Chaim Fogelman, the Cheder Boys Choir, the Platt Brothers and TNT Dunk Squad, followed by a parade with marching bands and floats. Then stay for the fair, including rides, games booths, petting zoo and kosher food stands. Sun. 10:30 a.m. (concert), 11:30 a.m. (parade), 12:45-4 p.m. (fair). Free.
