Vice President Cantor?

John McCain’s team is vetting Virginia Republican congressman Eric Cantor, the only Jewish Republican in the House, as a possible vice presidential running mate.

Rep. Cantor’s hardline Bush/Cheney positions on the issues make him potentially quite attractive to the far right, and his getting a 92% rating from the Christian Coalition couldn’t hurt with the evangelical base. 

Some see in Rep. Cantor a younger, more Republican Joe Lieberman.  But given Sen. McCain’s age and health history, I wonder whether the implausibility of Eric Cantor’s answering the red phone at 3 a.m. might undermine any McCain campaign complaint about Barack Obama’s experience.

Wow, Cantor’s record is one that Torquemada would envy. 

He makes Joe Lieberman look like Henry Wallace.

More like Torquemada’s virtuous twin. What did you find specifically threatening to your belief system?

In response to the Russia-Georgia crisis, Obama makes the tough decision to go body-surfing. As predicted, an inflatable dummy suitable to wave around for show.

btw I wouldn’t consider Cantor for VP. Gore would have won without Lieberman, to be blunt. I’m not saying here good or bad. But some less visible position with policy input. Maybe an adopted son.

I take it all back. Russia has blinked in response to Obama’s threatening posture and halted military operations in Georgia hahahahahahaha.
