Richard Montoya at Moss Theater April 3, 2014

Tonight I had the pleasure of attending the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s Westside Connections concert at the Moss Theater in Santa Monica.  Their special guest was Richard Montoya, a very talented writer/actor/filmmaker.  He read from his work, a delightful, very effective means of political satire, which I found both extremely funny and often right on target.

The musicians were all excellent, and the special program was curated and hosted by the adventurous Margaret Batjer.   I particularly enjoyed the Trio for Harp, Flute and Viola by Chavez, and especially the Dvorak String Quartet No. 12.   The Dvorak soared exquisitely, and the four musicians were especially well-blended and moved as one.  Wonderful music and performances all around!
