Russia's Eifman Ballet Debuts in Los Angeles with "Red Giselle"

Critically acclaimed as Russia's most innovative contemporary dance company, the Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg, founded by Boris Eifman, will make its Los Angeles debut with only two performances of "Red Giselle" at the Universal Amphitheatre on May 6 and 7. The 44-member Eifman Ballet troupe will perform the full-length "Red Giselle," a unique work merging classical ballet and modern dance in telling the story of the great Russian ballerina Olga Spessivtseva. Tickets range from $33-$58 and are now on sale at the Universal Amphitheatre Main, CityWalk Box Offices, Ticketmaster and online at www.hobconcerts.com.

Meaningful Volunteer Opportunities

Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, a non-profit, non-sectarian social service agency serving seniors, adults and children, is seeking enthusiastic, committed people looking for meaningful volunteer opportunities. Venice Art Walk 2000

The Venice Family Clinic is seeking volunteers to help with the annual Venice Art Walk fundraising event on Sunday, May 21. Volunteers are needed as parking monitors, bus guides and for set-up and tear-down in two and a half hour shifts. Volunteers will receive a free ticket to the event in exchange for volunteering at the Venice Art Walk (this is a $50 value). Volunteers are also needed prior to the event to help prepare mailings, call supporters, answer phones, solicit business contributions and help with general staff support.
