Ideas have consequences. False ideas, especially popular false ideas, can cause harm. For example, the very popular false idea “corduroy pants and wide lapels are far out, man” made an entire nation ugly for about a decade. And some false ideas do even more harm than that.
In 1998 the British medical journal The Lancet published a paper authored by Dr. Andrew Wakefield that claimed to link autism to the vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR). The study looked at 12 children (that’s right, twelve, not twelve thousand) with developmental abnormalities and intestinal conditions that may have presented after the administration of MMR.
This supposed association spawned a large popular movement that urged suspicion of vaccines and recommended that parents refuse vaccines or delay their children’s immunizations. Multiple subsequent larger studies have refuted the conclusions of the 1998 article, repeatedly finding no link between vaccinations and autism. But undeterred by the actual evidence, the anti-vaccine movement continued to spread unfounded allegations, frightening parents about vaccines.
The consequences of this false idea were predictable, and devastating. In the UK and US, vaccination rates dropped and in the last few years epidemics of measles have occurred. Despite the decreased vaccination rate, the incidence of autism has not decreased, and the true cause of autism remains elusive. Meanwhile Dr. Wakefield, the author of the 1998 study, has become a celebrity in the anti-vaccine movement, as its disciples have only his small study to lean on.
Recently, The Lancet learned that the study itself was deeply flawed. First, the 12 patients were chosen in a way that could have introduced a great element of bias. Second, many invasive and medically unnecessary procedures were done on the children without oversight of a research ethics board and without parental consent (an important protection that is mandatory in all research on human subjects). Finally, Dr. Wakefield did not disclose that he received funding from attorneys with litigation against vaccine manufacturers.
So this week the editors of The Lancet publicly retracted the 1998 study. Dr. Wakefield has been discredited and the anti-vaccination movement lost their last thread of scientific credibility.
I hope that public figures like Jenny McCarthy and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who have promoted the false and lethal idea that vaccines cause autism will take this opportunity to publically recant and find less pernicious crusades to pursue. I’m waiting for their announcement, but I may be waiting until corduroy pants make a comeback.
Tangential miscellany:
My post last week about normal weight obesity generated many interesting comments. One attentive reader corrected me that fat is never converted to muscle. That’s true. I should not have used that phrase. Fat cells remain fat cells forever, and muscle cells remain muscle cells. Exercise burns fat, shrinking fat cells and enlarging muscle cells. I appreciate the correction and changed the wording of the original post.

It’s more plausible to me, that a trigger for autism is yeast infection. Increase in sugar, fructose genetically altered wheat in diet, during this increase there was a increase in autism. A rapid, sugar feed, yeast infection, which are susceptible to other bacterias like e-coli.
It remains astounding to me that anti-vaccine individuals can tout a study of 12 children (plus some scattered anecdotes) over numerous well researched and designed studies. But such is the power of the human mind to deny and see truth where it really wants it to be. This will not end the vaccine “controversy.” You can never argue with anecdotal evidence.
12 years later the truth is the same as it was then.
Mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum and anti-freeze are linked to cancer and neurological disorders. If I came up and poured these ingredients into your coffee you would not drink it so why are you injecting it in your arm? Where are the well researched and designed studies done by independent parties showing the benefit of vaccines? They don’t exist. Thats why destroying credibility is the preferred technique when no real facts can brought to the table to let people decide for themselves. There is plenty of evidence supporting the dangers of vaccines, you should check out the facts instead of being persuaded by slander.

Albert Fuchs, M.D. presents a simplistic and misleading picture of the controversy surrounding vaccines and autism. We are to believe that Dr. Wakefield is solely responsible for coming up with the idea of a link. Fuchs neatly ignores the thousands of parents across this country who report that their child was normal until receiving the recommended vaccines in the childhood schedule. Wakefield began his research after parents came to him with stories of children regressing into autism and bowel disease following the MMR vaccine. Since 1983 the vaccine schedule has more than tripled exposing our children to more and more toxins without a single study of the effects of so many vaccines so soon on the health of a child. Fuchs omitted any mention of Dr. Bernadine Healy, former head of the National Institutes of Health. Healy has been on shows like CBS News saying that the science isn’t in on vaccine safety. There’s never been study of the children who suddenly lost learned studies and become autistic. She also said there’s never been an official study comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated children for rates of autism.
Fuchs doesn’t mention the comments of former Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Peter Fletcher, also from the UK, about the controversy over the MMR, bowel disease, and autism which appeared in the British press in 2006.
“[Fletcher] said he has seen a ‘steady accumulation of evidence’ from scientists worldwide that the measles, mumps and rubella jab is causing brain damage in certain children.
“But he added: ‘There are very powerful people in positions of great authority in Britain and elsewhere who have staked their reputations and careers on the safety of MMR and they are willing to do almost anything to protect themselves.’
” ‘It is the steady accumulation of evidence, from a number of respected universities, teaching hospitals and laboratories around the world, that matters here. There’s far too much to ignore. Yet government health authorities are, it seems, more than happy to do so.’ “
What’s happened to Andrew Wakefield at the hands of the medical establishment is proof that ‘very powerful people’ are still willing to do anything ‘to protect themselves.’
Anne McElroy Dachel, Media editor: Age of Autism
Dear Dr. Fuchs:
Thank you for your commentary on the issues surrounding vaccine safety.
I respectfully submit that you have made some misplaced assumptions about the source of the concern about vaccine safety. You are not the only commentator who has attributed growing concern about vaccines to an “anti-vaccine movement”. In my experience this could not be further from the truth.
The widespread concern about vaccine safety has its genesis in the life experience of parents who have observed their children regress developmentally, often immediately and dramatically, after their children were vaccinated. While this in itself does prove that vaccines caused harm it is certainly cause for concern. Should parents ignore what their eyes, ears, common sense and life experience tells them?
I dispute in the strongest terms your notion that the controversy over vaccines had its origin in a campaign or movement that is “anti-vaccine.” Rather, there is real concern by real parents about their sick kids.
Where are your answers to those questions?
You have joined the chorus of celebration over your belief that by concluding that vaccines could not be at fault in this scenario we have accomplished something.
Most emphatically nothing has been accomplished except perhaps a temporary false security that the vaccine program in the United States has been preserved and protected.
You have drawn many other assumptions that I challenge, but let me address your comments about Dr. Wakefield.
You suggest that Dr. Wakefield has become a “celebrity” in your “anti-vaccine movement.” It is true that many parents think highly of Dr. Wakefield. I submit this is the case because Dr. Wakefield honestly and conscientiously addressed serious concerns that parents have about their children. The primary – even the only – finding of the 1998 Lancet paper was a finding that a new form of bowel disease is associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, including “autism.” The paper urged further study and conspicuousy stated that the data did not prove an association between autism and vaccination.
The finding of an association between neurodevelopmental disorders and bowel disease has been replicated and corroborated. Children with autism are now routinely checked for GI problems. They are receiving treatment and their condition often is improved as a result.
Dr. Wakefield can be credited with this enormous contribution to the understanding and treatment of the many children suffering from neurodevelopmental disorders. The invasive procedures that you and others condemn in Dr. Wakefield’s paper are now routinely recommended as the standard of care for children with autism and related disorders, if other clinical criteria are met.
This is why Dr. Wakefield may be a celebrity – your word – not because of any celebrity he enjoys in the “anti-vaccine movement” – whatever that is.
Contrary to your fervent hope, parents who saw their children regress after vaccination are not going away. They will not be persuaded that Dr. Wakefield is evil – or even wrong - because a governmental body condemned Dr. Wakefield for conscientiously pursuing diagnosis and treatment of sick children. Without getting into the flimsy charges against him may I ask: has one parent of a child treated by Dr. Wakefield registered a complaint? If so, the complaint would be a rare one because most parents are profoundly thankful that Dr. Wakefield was willing to listen and honestly look at their children.
Until our public health authorities take an honest look at the very real issues revolving around vaccine safety concerned parents will not relent. It would be irresponsible for them to do so and it would dishonor their obligations to their children.
On the subject of vaccination – most parents of children with autism had their children fully vaccinated. They were not and are not “anti-vaxxers” – they are simply parents doing what they should do.
On the issue of the fear-mongering allegation that infectious disease is on the rise I submit that your claims are grossly exaggerated. The CDC reports that vaccination rates in the United States are at an all time high and are stable. Outbreaks of vaccine preventable disease are few and limited.
The hysteria that you promote about “anti-vaxxers” suggests a level of irresponsibility and fear-mongering that does well suit an individual like yourself who bears the credentials of medical doctor.
Let’s get past ideological mudslinging. You say that the causes of autism are “elusive.” Let’s take a hard look at what is happening to our children and put all possibilities on the table.
Your celebration is, therefore, premature. Dr. Wakefield is not the problem whatever it is he may have done. An unexplained upsurge of chronic disease among our children is the problem. Other than to gloat over your successful witch hunt of Dr. Wakefield perhaps you can give parents some meaningful answers.
That is what I would expect from a responsible medical doctor.
Sincerely,

I couldn’t say it better than Mr. Krakow or Ms. Dachel, but I’d like to add that I am the grandparent of 2 children on the spectrum—actually one child is recovered and the other one I hope to recover one day. I couldn’t have gotten this far with them were it not for people like Dr. Wakefield, and other DAN(defeat autism now) doctors. Everyday I am thankful for thier intelligence and compassion. I doubt anyone who hasn’t traveled this road, living with a child with autism, could understand fully how I feel. It’s really frustrating and anger provoking to read so many comments about vaccines and autism by people who are not qualified to do so(with or without MD after their name) This controversy will go on, I promise, as more and more children become sick. It’s the huge number of autism families increasing every day that is fueling the movement. As long as we hear “We don’t know what causes autism, but we know it’s not vaccines” we’ll be hovering around every street corner.

Dear Dr. Fuchs:
In my earlier post I stated, “hysteria that you promote about “anti-vaxxers” suggests a level of irresponsibility and fear-mongering that does well suit an individual like yourself who bears the credentials of medical doctor.”
I meant the opposite because I left the word “not” out of the sentence. The sentence should have read, “hysteria that you promote about “anti-vaxxers” suggests a level of irresponsibility and fear-mongering that does NOT well suit an individual like yourself who bears the credentials of medical doctor.”
Sincerely,
Robert J. Krakow
Dear Dr. Fuchs:
I am guilty of one more typographical error:
Where I state above that “While this in itself does prove that vaccines caused harm it is certainly cause for concern” I omitted the word “not” and meant to say, “While this in itself does NOT prove that vaccines caused harm it is certainly cause for concern.”
RJ Krakow
Dear Mr. Krakow and Ms. Meleck
There is no easy way to say it, but I have to speak up. There is no greater affront to reason, logic, or our nation’s legal system than your actions.
The original statement linking vaccines with autism was based on a single study of 12 children… as study now retracted. Since then, a number of prospective peer-reviewed studies have come out, looking tens of thousands of children, each conclusively demonstrating no correlation at all, much rather causation… peer-reviewed studies not just in the US, but the EU and UK as well.
Furthermore, merely examining the original claims from a scientific perspective is a trying experience, as it quite simply defies our current understanding of human biology, development, and immunology. The “antivax” crowd has run away from reality with a conspiracy theory of monumental proportions.
However, it’s not the self-illusion of people who are looking for someone to blame for their children’s unfortunate disability that bothers me. What bothers me is that this movement has acquired enough members with loud voices, that it made it self-perpetuating among an atmosphere of general distrust of people regarding science, because the science itself has advanced to the point where a layman is simply incapable of grasping the complexity we’ve uncovered.
As a result, the immunization rates have dropped dramatically, endangering countless children with childhood diseases that we’d effectively eradicated.
With all due respect Mr. Krakow (and believe me, I am truly sorry that your child has this terrible condition), but I believe that active members of the anti-vaccine movement should become defendands in a class-action lawsuit over the disability and wrongful deaths of people from diseases they should’ve been vaccinated against, but chose not to due to this absolutely heinous debacle.
G.N.
MD-PhD Immunology
Dear G.N., M.D.-PhD:
I don’t fault you for speaking up, but you are sadly mistaken. To what “prospective” peer-reviewed studies are you referring that exonerate vaccines? A “prospective” study, as you likely know, is one that involves following the case series over time to evaluate a disease’s natural. My review of the scientific literature reveals no such study. Many advocates who are concerned about vaccine safety have been asking for a prospective study that would compare vaccinated vs. unvaccinated comparisons. The research authorities have rejected the idea, arguing that such a study would, among other things, be “unethical” because it would leave some children unvaccinated. There are no long-term prospective studies in vaccine testing or research. Most such studies follow the vaccinated for a few weeks or months at most. Recent examples are the short term safety studies performed on the H1N1 vaccine. They cannot show safety of the type you mistakenly claim exists.
I am not sure what to make of your other comments that reveal the very irrationality that you condemn. Yes, Dr. Wakefield’s 1998 paper was a case series. No one ever claimed otherwise. As I have already commented, even Dr. Wakefield and his coauthors explicitly stated in their paper that their data did not prove a vaccine-autism link. Case series investigations are commonplace and valuable in medical research. The fact that in an effort to condemn this particular paper, the established research authorities have attributed greater significance to the Lancet paper (escalated by an hysterical and uninformed British press) is not a problem that should be laid at the doorstep of Dr. Wakefield. Look at the study: all the authors did was recommend more research. What is wrong with that?
The sad fact is the epidemiological science on which you rely has never provided answers to the questions you think are resolved. The U.S. population study by Verstraeten et al. was not a “negative” study – it did not disprove a vaccine-autism connection. Don’t take my word for that assertion – read the comments of Verstraeten himself who clarified that the study was only valuable to point to further research and by design and limitation could not disprove a vaccine-autism connection. Verstraeten, PEDIATRICS Vol. 113 No. 4 April 2004, pp. 932.
The same is true of the other studies on which you presumably rely. All had flaws. None examined regressive autism, the type of disorder that likely has been the major contributor to the rise of autism rates. Don’t take my word for that. Dr. Sander Greenland, a preeminent epidemiologist, has said that there is no research studying regressive autism in relation to vaccination.
You exaggerate or misrepresent the findings of epidemiology that has failed to disprove a link and at the same time discount the studies that have found a link between vaccines and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. (see studies by Young, Gallagher & Goodman, Geier and many basic science studies pointing to a link, all in peer reviewed reputable journals).
With all due respect to you and your colleagues, I submit that it is you and some of your colleagues who have worked to misrepresent much of the science to the public, most of whom naturally would not have the time or ability to analyze complex subjects and so put their faith experts, only to be sadly misled by many members of your profession. The claim that the public cannot understand science and that those who challenge public health orthodoxy are attacking science is pure demagoguery and elitism.
You make a point about immunization rates. Here again you are wrong and the point you make about rates is misleading. Check the CDC data and reports. Vaccination rates in the U.S., including MMR, are at all time highs and are stable. There is no data suggesting any significant erosion of vaccine uptake. To the extent there exist isolated pockets of individuals who have exercised their personal right and choice to decline vaccination, it is the public health authorities who have dreadfully failed to inspire their confidence in our nation’s vaccine program.
Finally, I repeat a point a made earlier that appears to have escaped your understanding. Parents who are raising questions about vaccine safety are, for the most parent, the parents who conscientiously vaccinated their children adhering to the recommended schedule. These parents have endangered no one. They are no threat. Their kids are vaccinated. They merely want answers about their children who now suffer lifelong and painful disability. Your insistence on demonizing such parents reveals an irrational fear mongering that is surprising in someone of your apparent sophistication.
Your reckless desire to bring legal action against such parents suggests an hysteria about the vaccine safety controversy that reflects panic and ignorance. Unfortunately, such hysteria characterizes most of the outspoken medical profession when the subject of vaccine safety is raised. At the same time, most such members of the medical profession find a curious type of refuge in their recognition that we they have no idea whatsoever what causes “autism”, simultaneously proclaiming with disconcerting certitude that vaccines cannot possibly be at fault. That is truly a sad and tragic state of affairs.
Most parents of children with disabilities vaccinated their children. In the name of decency, cease and desist in your libel against them. It seems you are looking for someone to blame for the failures of the vaccine regime. I strongly suggest that you will only hurt the cause you promote by using parents as scapegoats for that failure.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Krakow
Dear G.N.,
I found your comments incredible. We’re seeing news reports everywhere saying that the events in Britain involving Dr. Wakefield and the Lancet are the final proof that there is no link between vaccines and autism, as if his study were the only one out there calling vaccines into question. That’s simply not true. Mounting peer-reviewed science supports the claim that an unsafe, unchecked vaccine program is disabling a generation of children.
SEE: http://www.14studies.org/ourstudies.html
It seems convenient to merely label parents in the autism community as “antivax” instead of what they really are: PARENTS WHO DID VACCINATE, TRUSTING THAT THIS WAS THE BEST THING THEY COULD DO FOR THE HEALTH OF THEIR CHILDREN. The medical community ignores the thousands of reports about children who were normally progressing as toddlers, making eye contact, talking, some even potty-trained. Suddenly, following vaccinations, they lost these learned skills. Now as parents of autistic children, the medical community has no answers for them. Doctors can only scratch their heads over this nightmare now affecting one in every 110 kids and one in every 70 boys. They can’t tell parents the cause of autism or how to cure it. The only thing their sure of is that the vaccine program can’t be responsible.
For years, officials denied any real increase in autism; it was all just “better diagnosing” by doctors—more children didn’t really have autism. Now with the explosion in the numbers to one percent of children, even the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has had to admit that the numbers are real. There must be an environment factor responsible. They’re willing to look at anything, except their vaccines as the cause.
Personally, I’d like to ask doctors when they’re going to start to sound worried about autism. They are alarmed about the threat of measles, but one percent of children don’t have measles—however one percentage do have autism.

I always amazes me how people take something they read or learn about on the web and pass it on as gospel without knowing enough to truly back up what they say. Some even use their proffessional background as a way to over emphasize their true understanding of the subject, and lead others to accept what they say without question.

We parents who wholeheartedly support Dr Wakefield could say something similar:

You point out “...a number of prospective peer-reviewed studies have come out, looking tens of thousands of children, each conclusively demonstrating no correlation at all, much rather causation… peer-reviewed studies not just in the US, but the EU and UK as well.”
I doubt very much you are doing more than repeating a talking point. Many of us parents have poured ourselves into those studies -not just read the summary and conclusions. Did you know that the Verstraeten study (the only one done on US children) actually found a very high correlation between thimerosal uptake and increased autism rates, but that they had to revise the input data (read remove children that were likley autistic from the data set) up to 5 times before they could get the answer they wanted?
Did you know that in the 2004 IOM report it as actually determined that they could not rule out that vaccines could cause autism in a subset of susceptable children?
I think it would be wise for you to fully read the studies that the pro-vaccine pro-mercury movement so dutifully quote. A good start would be to go where they are already listed and available:
http://fourteenstudies.org/
The fact is the controversy will not go away until the medical establishment becomes an honest broker in the disscusion. They, like the good doctor above, keep repeating the same old, same old, which many of us already know is not true and can so easily prove it.
And we also know that Dr. Wakefield presented evidence to the GMC that disproved all the accusations against him. But you will never know that if you are lazy and ignorant, reading only the “summary and conclusion” of the GMC hearings, will you?

The arguments by Anne Dachel above would be devastating to any rational human being. But clearly some medicial professionals have been reduced to faith-based ideologies about vaccines. Thus, the ugliness in their language and arguments in the main article and in some comments.
If these attacks against Wakefield continue, we could move into “Tiller the Baby Killer” territory, where a continued barrage of hateful language was directly responsible for harm done to a doctor. Many of our best autism medical doctors are now fully aware of this possibility and have had to take steps to protect themselves, their families and patients.
Over and again we see the same scenario play out: the defense of vaccines and the self-imposed blindness to science about any possible negative effects of vaccines increase in proportion to the person’s professional and financial commitment to vaccine orthodoxy.
Their beliefs in this area lack scientific skepticism. As professionals in medical science, they have lost much of the the open-minded skepticism on which science depends, whether it is vaccines or any other treatment.
Ingrained prejudices, personal and financial commitments to the vaccine program have put many medical professionals like Fuchs at much greater “risk” than the general public of not being able to change their views based upon the evidence that has emerged and will continue to emerge. And because of their public stature, they are capable of doing continued harm to the American population.
One of our challenges is to get the latest evidence past the media censors and in front of parents, who usually can make a reasoned, rational judgment about what they are shown. Unfortunately, because of human nature, these parents often have a much clearer view of the science than many of the actual scientists and doctors.

I’d love to know MD/PHD doesn’t use his/her real name and has something to hide???? The rest of us used ours.
The story of my grandchildren appears in the January issue of The Autism File, a fantastic magazine that can be purchased in bookstores. Doctors could learn so much about autism if only they would read their issues.
It will explain how one grandchild was eventually saved from the sharp claws of a permanent autism label because his vaccines were stopped before he went head first into the abyss.
First of all Dr. Fuchs M.D. and GN-M.D., the people you refer to as anti-vaccine are just the opposite, they fully vaccinated their children (and look what happened to them). Second, since when are statistical manipulations done by the manufacturers, promoters and administraters of vaccines refered to as “peer-reviewed scientific study”? This is the only thing you pro-poison people have! I’m giving you the opportunity right now to post the study which shows the safe amount of ethylmercury (arguably the most toxic form of mercury that exists) that can be injected into premature babies at birth, 2, 4, 6, 12 and 18 months of age. In my 27 years of experience testing material for mercury, nothing even comes close to containing the concentration of mercury I’ve found in multi-dose vaccine vials. How can medical professionals defend this and keep a straight face?
“With all due respect Mr. Krakow (and believe me, I am truly sorry that your child has this terrible condition), but I believe that active members of the anti-vaccine movement should become defendands in a class-action lawsuit over the disability and wrongful deaths of people from diseases they should’ve been vaccinated against, but chose not to due to this absolutely heinous debacle.”
Dear doc:
Last time I checked, we still live in America and vaccines are still available to parents, no?
Did it ever occur to you that parents who CHOOSE not to vaccinate their children might actually be able to “connect the dots” on their own by reading studies and coming to their own “informed” choice??
Bottom Line: This is America. I have every right as a citizen to “speak up” about what happened to my son. And others have an equal right to “ignore me” or “listen to me”.
Have you ever thought about relocating to Cuba?
I am being put on moderation according to this alert I received:
“Akismet thinks your input might be spam, so it will be moderated first.”
so let’s see if it because I said the “nice Jewish doctor” is looking ignorant or if it is url issues. I will repost my comment w/o links.
Dear Dr. Fuchs,
I am not Jewish but since autism is not a religious issue and instead a medical issue, I feel that I can post here.
A recent article in America Magazine is a perfect example of what you should be saying as a “nice Jewish doctor”- where is your compassion?:
“An Untreated Epidemic?”
” A new survey published in the monthly Journal of Pediatrics suggests the number of children “on the spectrum” in the United States is as high as one in 91 among all children and one in 58 among boys, a revision corroborated by a parallel study by the C.D.C. That means that 673,000 U.S. children—1.1 percent of children ages 3 to 17—and a comparable number of U.S. families are grappling with autism and the impact that diagnosis has on family life and, not least of all, family budgets.
A C.D.C. statement noted: “These data affirm that a concerted and substantial national response is warranted.” This is the kind of rhetoric we have already heard as the autism spectrum numbers leapt higher. When will that concerted response begin?”
If an alarming increase in autism is indeed occurring in our homes, and not just on statistical spreadsheets, then we need to confront this problem as the major health care crisis that it is. Discovering more about what provokes this puzzling neurological syndrome and how it can be treated effectively should be a major C.D.C. priority. Much of the institutional debate surrounding autism spectrum disorder has revolved around its suspected connection to the increasing vaccine load required of U.S. children. More research needs to be done to confirm or deny this hypothesis about the origins of autism before faith in the entire vaccination enterprise collapses. Clearly genetics plays a primary role, but as the numbers pile up the possible effect of so-called environmental triggers like vaccines cannot be ignored.
These are our children. Let them come to us and be helped or healed, or at the very least be comforted.”
As far as your ridiculous and ignorant comment here-
“Since then, a number of prospective peer-reviewed studies have come out, looking tens of thousands of children, each conclusively demonstrating no correlation at all, much rather causation… peer-reviewed studies not just in the US, but the EU and UK as well.”- is without merit.
Here is research showing similar results to what Dr. Wakefield has found:
Clinical Presentation and Histologic Findings at Ileocolonoscopy in Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Chronic Gastrointestinal Symptoms
Results: Diarrhea was present in 78%, abdominal pain in 59% and constipation in 36%. Ileal and/or colonic lymphonodular hyperplasia (LNH), defined as the presence of an increased number of enlarged lymphoid follicles, often with hyperactive germinal centers, was present in 73.2%. Terminal ileum LNH presented visually in 67% and histologically in 73%. Colonic LNH was multifocal and presented histologically in 32%. Ileal and/or colonic inflammation presented in 74%, consisting primarily of active or chronic colitis (69%). Ileal inflammation presented in 35%. Presence of LNH significantly predicted mucosal inflammation. Patients with ileal and/or colonic LNH had lower mean/median age than those without; patients with ileal and/or colonic inflammation had lower mean/median age than those without. There was a significant association between ileo and/or colonic inflammation or LNH, and onset of developmental disorder; plateaued or regressive onset conferred greater risk than early onset.
Conclusions: Patients with autism or related disorders exhibiting chronic gastrointestinal symptoms demonstrate ileal or colonic inflammation upon light microscopic examination of biopsy tissue. Further work is needed to determine whether resolution of histopathology with appropriate therapy is accompanied by GI symptomatic and cognitive/behavioral improvement.

And here is the real rationale for the smear attack against Dr. Wakefield:
Excerpt-
“Dr. Andrew Wakefield is being discredited to prevent an historic study from being published that for the first time looks at vaccinated versus unvaccinated primates and compares health outcomes, with potentially devastating consequences for vaccine makers and public health officials.
It is our most sincere belief that Dr. Wakefield and parents of children with autism around the world are being subjected to a remarkable media campaign engineered by vaccine manufacturers reporting on the retraction of a paper published in The Lancet in 1998 by Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues.
The retraction from The Lancet was a response to a ruling from England’s General Medical Council, a kangaroo court where public health officials in the pocket of vaccine makers served as judge and jury. Dr. Wakefield strenuously denies all the findings of the GMC and plans a vigorous appeal.
Despite rampant misreporting, Dr. Wakefield’s original paper regarding 12 children with severe bowel disease and autism never rendered any judgment whatsoever on whether or not vaccines cause autism, and The Lancet’s retraction gets us no closer to understanding this complex issue.”
As for you, Dr. Fuchs, read and be informed as your ranting and raving helps no one and makes you look like either an ignorant doctor who doesn’t read studies or instead an industry talking head, who parrots what the medical/pharmaceutical mob tells him.
My goodness, Dr. Fuchs, you have attracted many luminaries of the anti-vaccination movement. Teresa Conrick, Kelli Ann Davis, Maurine Meleck, David Taylor, Anne Daschel, and Robert J. Krakow are all well-known members of the “autism is vaccine injury” circle of belief. That group seems to cling to a set of their own facts.
While they are vocal, they are in the minority of parents of children with autism. For example, Shannon Rosa wrote http://www.blogher.com/my-child-has-autism-and-i-vaccinate (My Child Has Autism and I Vaccinate)
I sometimes write a post that collates blog responses, both positive and negative, to a given issue.
I’m keeping one now on responses to the Lancet retraction of the Wakefield’s paper.
I’ve added your post to the list.
The post is at

There, your readers will find the views of those who disagree with the Lancet retraction (as represented by the commenters above) and those who, like you, agree that the Lancet retraction was long-overdue.
Science isn’t decided by a popularity poll, but the pro-science faction is running at about a 9:1 ratio.
I am not sure if this meets Matt’s criteria for a well designed study into the effectiveness of vaccines but
“Measles deaths in Africa fell by 91% between 2000 and 2006, from an estimated 396 000 to 36 000, reaching the United Nations 2010 goal to cut measles deaths by 90% four years early. The spectacular gains achieved in Africa helped generate a strong decline in global measles deaths, which fell 68% worldwide – from an estimated 757 000 to 242 000 – during this period.”
And the reason?
“The significant decline in measles deaths in Africa was made possible by the firm commitment of national governments to fully implement the measles reduction strategy, which includes vaccinating all children against measles before their first birthday via routine health services and providing a second opportunity for measles vaccination through mass vaccination campaigns.”

G.N.MD-PhD Immunology; When I get through with you, you are going to be chasing your tail. And the readers, they will know that you are just another medical professional that has no clue of the damage that has been done by a very out of control and dangerous vaccine program to a generation of children. Picture this a child is born normal then at 27 mos several vaccines including the MMR which I believe is causing all these bowel problems. Anyway at the injection site a knot the size of a mans fist so hot it would burn you, the next day three mini seizures. And a child that was normal is turned into an out of control locomotive, that use to eat everything under the sun was down to two or three items of food.
Now think!G.N.MD-PhD a child that loved cake and ice cream the next day after the Vaccines would not ever touch it again, A child that ate rolled up turkey and ham lunch meat, did not touch it again. A child that drank milk for 27 months, one day! after Vaccines. would not touch it again!
You see G.N.MD-PhD one day after vaccines he started sniffing everything like a rat, his since of smell was very
heightened. So I assume the vaccines caused the seizures, which caused the heightened since of smell. And everything
that once smelled good, might not smell so good anymore. I have a novel idea! why don’t you at the Autism centers of (I cannot write this next word with out laughing out loud)“excellence” study why some children who get the vaccines, start sniffing like a rat and will not eat normal anymore then start flapping arms and losing the ability they once had to speak. I know that’s not genetics, that you at the Autism centers of excellence love trying to pin this epidemic on. But! That is what is wrong with our children, and needs to be addressed.
And by the way I did not marry my first cousin, that’s the kind of research that wastes money and BTW is totally laughable. Sort of like to much TV to early, Old Dads,Old moms, Seems like you want to to muddy the water to a point, that the unlearned would just say anything can cause Autism. But I think the AAP had it right when they first heard about Thimerosal They freaked out and said It accumulates in the body, we must find the best chelating agent and get with it. I assume that they had read the MSDS of Thimerosal, where it states that Thimerosal accumulates
in the body. Oh! BTW it is also on the MSDS it Thimerosal targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain. Hey!G.N. CDC AAP this Dad of a very sick sick child would like to know! Why is there something that targets the organs of the body in
particular the brain and the lining around the brain, in a child’s vaccine? Also what is the story about Thimerosal that is 50% Mercury by weight and Aluminum in vaccines, when you mix the two you get the synergy effect of the two salts mixed. A toxin that would kill a hundred cells, will now after mixing Aluminum will kill 1000 cells. And when you are studying thimerosal effecting our children you leave out the detail that vaccines have Aluminum as a catylist, all the while knowing that the MSDS under reactivity data on Thimerosal states Aluminum as something not to mix Thimerosal with because it reacts violently togather. Hey G.N. CDC AAP What is something that reacts violently together doing in a childs vaccine?
It seems vaccine safety is devoid of any common sense. Our son waited six months to see a gastrointestinal Dr. What a freaking joke that turned out to be!

Well it is interesting that Liz and her blog focus on the neurodiversity movement, one in which many who do not want to be involved in vaccine issues. Some do not because they think that being a neurodiverse has gifted the children with many unique abilities. Many have considered themselves “autistic” or looked at their children as a gift with their diagnosis of autism. Then there are others who use the guise of neurodiversity to stop the truth about vaccines harming children and causing injury.
Let’s be clear that the autism that we speak of is a medical injury that effects both brain and gut. It manifests in odd posturing; repetitive behaviors; no language or impairment in language; extreme sensory issues involving all the senses; neurological issues including soft signs yet also dangerous and severe seizures; food allergies, many severe to the point of seizures, rashes and GI/brain swelling;chronic GI digestive and elimination issues, diarrhea, reflux, vomiting, constipation…pain; chronic bacteria in the form of Strep in both GI (stool evidence) and titer (blood) that are upwards of 2-8x normal per labs; chronic fungal infections (candida) causing more GI, behavioral issues; odd viral titers, especially of measles, mumps,varicella via blood titers that range again high (2-6x)the normal range of immunity; high amounts of heavy metals esp lead, aluminum and mercury;
signs of mitochondria dysfunction; signs of oxidative stress and signs of autoimmune/dysfunctonal immune systems.
We are not talking quirky children here but very sick children who need help. Why not include this link to your blog, Liz, especially if you are posting both sides of the Wakefield Inquisition?

Dr.
Wakefield’s original paper regarding 12 children with severe bowel disease and autism never rendered any judgment whatsoever on whether or not vaccines cause autism, and The Lancet’s retraction gets us no closer to understanding this complex issue.
Dr. Wakefield is one of the world’s most respected and well-published gastroenterologists. He has published dozens of papers since 1998 in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals all over the world. His work documenting the bowel disease of children with autism and his exploration of novel ways to treat bowel disease has helped relieve the pain and suffering of thousands of children with autism.
For the past decade, parents in our community have been clamoring for a relatively simple scientific study that could settle the debate over the possible role of vaccines in the autism epidemic once and for all: compare children who have been vaccinated with children who have never received any vaccines and see if the rate of autism is different or the same.
Few people are aware that this extremely important work has not only begun, but that a study using an animal model has already been completed exploring this topic in great detail.
Dr. Wakefield is the co-author, along with eight other distinguished scientists from institutions like the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Washington, of a set of studies that explore the topic of vaccinated versus unvaccinated neurological outcomes using monkeys.
The first phase of this monkey study was published three months ago in the prestigious medical journal Neurotoxicology, and focused on the first two weeks of life when the vaccinated monkeys received a single vaccine for Hepatitis B, mimicking the U.S. vaccine schedule. The results, which you can read for yourself HERE, were disturbing. Vaccinated monkeys, unlike their unvaccinated peers, suffered the loss of many reflexes that are critical for survival.
Dr. Wakefield and his scientific colleagues are on the brink of publishing their entire study, which followed the monkeys through the U.S. childhood vaccine schedule over a multi-year period. It is our understanding that the difference in outcome for the vaccinated monkeys versus the unvaccinated controls is both stark and devastating.
There is no question that the publication of the monkey study will lend substantial credibility to the theory that over-vaccination of young children is leading to neurological damage, including autism. The fallout from the study for vaccine makers and public health officials could be severe. Having denied the possibility of the vaccine-autism connection for so long while profiting immensely from a recent boom in vaccine sales around the world, it’s no surprise that they would seek to repress this important work.
Behind the scenes, the pressure to keep the work of Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues from being published is immense, and growing every day. Medical journals take extreme risk of backlash in publishing any studies that question the safety of the vaccination program, no matter how well-designed and thorough the research might be. Neurotoxicology, a highly-respected medical journal, deserves great credit for courageously publishing the first phase of this vaccinated monkey study.
The press has been deeply misled in the way The Lancet retraction, and Dr. Wakefield’s mock trial, have been characterized. Led by the pharmaceutical companies and their well-compensated spokespeople, Dr. Wakefield is being vilified through a well-orchestrated smear campaign designed to prevent this important new work from seeing the light of day.
What medical journal would want to step in front of this freight train? Moreover, why now, after 12 years of inaction, did The Lancet and GMC suddenly act? Is it coincidence that the monkey study is currently being submitted to medical journals for review and publication?
We urge the media to take a close look at the first phase of the monkey study discussed above and to start asking a very simple question: What was the final outcome of the 14 primates that were vaccinated using the U.S. vaccine schedule and how did that compare to the unvaccinated controls?
The U.S. vaccine schedule has grown from 10 vaccines given to our children in the 1980s to 36 today, perfectly matching the dramatic rise in autism. The work of Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues deserves to be shared with the world to further, rather than censor, scientific progress.
“The widespread concern about vaccine safety has its genesis in the life experience of parents who have observed their children regress developmentally, often immediately and dramatically, after their children were vaccinated. While this in itself does [not] prove that vaccines caused harm it is certainly cause for concern. Should parents ignore what their eyes, ears, common sense and life experience tells them?”
Mr. Krakow,
It’s also likely that the observed regression is after the child started eating solid foods (or near immediately after eating). Should parents ignore the observation there?
You yourself have acknowledged that the question of whether or not vaccines cause autism is a scientific one.
Do you think you’ll ever give up the special pleading for anecdote?
I think you probably fully understand that parental anecdote is a very good place to formulate a hypothesis, but that’s about it.

Hi Joe
“Mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum and anti-freeze” have never been included in MMR. Anti-freeze has never been included in any vaccine. Which MSDS are you reading for thimerosal? Mine does not mention aluminium.

Dear Do’C:
First, I find it problematic that you post comments without stating your true name. It is almost impossible to have an honest discussion with individuals who hide behind pseudonyms.
Science is not a mechanical numbers crunching exercise that spits out the answer. If “anecdote” were not considered for “hypothesis generation” then there would be no culture, no science, no ideas. First, we have human experience then we invent methodology to measure and understand our experience. If we reject, ignore or diminish what we see, hear, touch, smell and taste we operate in a void and our conclusions will have little or no value.
I do not make special pleading for “anecdote.” That is your way of pejoratively characterizing my plea to credit experience as a legitimate factor in trying to ascertain what has really happened.
In your world no sequence of events would ever matter because it would be mere “correlation.” You seem to require a mathematically proven result before you will make a judgment. That leaves no room for errant assumptions or bias. It leaves us intellectually imprisoned in whatever preconceived notions we may have, as long as the statistical analysis is correct.
Epidemiology is an inexact science but it it must properly factor observation and “anecdote” (I hesitate to use the word because your type of use of the word “anecdote” makes it a bad thing whereas I think it is an important component of evidence if credible). It needs to consider the biological mechanism findings that point to potential harm.
So I place no special value in anecdote. Nor do I denigrate it. I might ask you, why you make special pleading for statistical certainty. The best epidemiological studies can provide is an answer that x study did not prove y result. Yet the entire universe of public health orthodoxy says that epidemiology has shown the vaccine / neurodevelopmentally injury question is “asked and answered” and that vaccines are “100% safe.” My point is that epidemiology has not even examined the right questions - the studies that would yield good answers have not been done. Those studies that point to a vaccine link (Young, Gallagher & Goodman, Hewitson, Burbacher and many others) are dismissed or ignored.
The honest world knows that that the question is not “asked and answered” – vaccines sometimes cause injury, and that the question of how often they cause injury is the question that is not yet understood. That vaccines may also be important positive health measures does not mean that the question of whether they also cause harm - and how much harm they cause - is answered.
Relevant to this point is my view, articulated many times publicly and privately, that vaccine injury is NOT the only cause of symptoms that are often diagnosed as “autism.” It is one cause. It may not even be the dominant cause. What is indisputable is that vaccines cause vaccine injury – call it encephalopathy or some other term – and that the result sometimes is a child who meets the DSM IV criteria for autism.
How often is this happening? No one really knows. But denial of the question in the name of “science” while deriding those who ask it as “unscientific”, “stupid” or whatever other insults are thrown around does no one any good, least of all the children who are injured.

Anne Dachel said
“Wakefield began his research after parents came to him with stories of children regressing into autism and bowel disease following the MMR vaccine.”
Not exactly. They were referred to him by Richard Barr, a lawyer putting together a class action suit over MMR. He paid Wakefield £150 an hour in consultancy fees and obtained £50000 to finance Wakefield’s Lancet study from the Legal Aid Board. Wakefield only spent £25000 but neglected to return the balance. He also neglected to inform anyone else - fellow researchers, hospital ethics board, editor of the Lancet = about his deal with the personal injury lawyer. Then there was the patent he took out on a single vaccine and the company he set up to exploit the patent. So no conflict of interest there then.
Mike Stanton said (about Dr. Wakefield in response to A. Dachel):
“Not exactly. Those assertions about Dr. Wakefield are FALSE-(what is your support? - baseless assertions by predator-journalist Brian Deer?):
Children were referred to the Royal Free Hospital by the child’s physician. This is corroborated by Prof. Walker-Smith who said so in the Lancet. Prof Walker-Smith had nothing to do with the litigation you cite, as far as I can tell.
At the time of their referral to the Royal Free, the time relevant to their inclusion in The Lancet paper, none of the children were participants in a lawsuit.
No Legal Aid Board money (the source of litigation funds) was spent on The Lancet paper. A Legal Aid Board grant was provided for a separate viral detection study. This study was completed later, in 1999, and that the source of funding was the Legal Aid Board. The Lancet paper was submitted for publication before the Legal Aid Board grant was even available to be spent.
Dr. Wakefield absolutely informed his colleagues of his litigation activities. A year before publication of the Lancet paper, Dr. Wakefield’s informed his senior co-authors, the head of department and the dean of the medical school, and the CEO of the hospital. This was also reported in the national press 15 months prior to publication of the Lancet paper
The “vaccine” patent was not, in fact, for a competing vaccine to the measles or MMR vaccine. It involved use of something called transfer factor, which is what this “vaccine” would be. This involves transfer of protective antibodies but cannot work as a population- based vaccine because it can’t stimulate the productive of protective antibodies, the cornerstone of any live viral vaccine. No one who understands vaccines would consider this a competitor to the live virus vaccine. In addition, Dr. Wakefield had been in correspondence with the Royal Free hospital since as early as 1995 about developing transfer factor treatment as a way to raise capital for a new Gastrointestinal Center at the hospital - hardly something that justifies condemnation or even mild criticism. It was a laudable venture, now unjustly cast in a sinister light.
Hi Joe
“Mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum and anti-freeze” have never been included in MMR. Anti-freeze has never been included in any vaccine. Which MSDS are you reading for thimerosal? Mine does not mention aluminium.
_________
I’m guessing Joe is one of those anti-vaccine parents who “is smart enough to read the studies and come to an informed decision.” Nuff said.
Dr. Fuchs,
thank you very much for taking on this topic. My son is autistic. He is very much disabled, very obviously autistic. I have followed the vaccine debate closely, especially the story of Andrew Wakefield and his research.
You were kind to Dr. Wakefield. You only mentioned 3 types of offenses. As Mike Stanton points out, there was also financial misbehaviors.
I don’t see anyone in the comments defending Dr. Wakefield for the very real offenses he was found guilty of. Instead I am supposed to just accept their vague statements that big powers are out to get Dr. Wakefield.
This fake controversy about Dr. Wakefield’s monkey studies is laughable. I guess if Jenny and Jim say there is a controversy, I am supposed to take them on their word.
Sorry but the world took Andrew Wakefield on his word for years. We took seriously his claims that MMR could be causing autism and spent a lot of money and researcher time on the project.
This is one parent who wishes that all that effort had been applied to something that could actually help my kid.
I don’t see “very powerful people trying to protect themselves”. I see ordinary people trying to protect Andrew Wakefield. I just don’t see why.
In this realm, the one where the anti-vaccination drones of the Al Queda of Autism blog pile on to two doctors who disagee with them, necessitates the use of pseudonyms for self protection. Anytime anyone disagrees with the drones’ group think, they dump on them like is being done here.
As for GR’s 14 studies, see: http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2009/04/generation_rescue_and_fourteen_studies.php.
Look how Paul Offit, the developer of a vaccine that is saving thousands has been vilified and attacked.
These drones do not want diaglogue, just goose-stepping to their tune.
Krakow says: “The “vaccine” patent was not, in fact, for a competing vaccine to the measles or MMR vaccine. It involved use of something called transfer factor, which is what this “vaccine” would be. This involves transfer of protective antibodies but cannot work as a population- based vaccine because it can’t stimulate the productive of protective antibodies, the cornerstone of any live viral vaccine. No one who understands vaccines would consider this a competitor to the live virus vaccine.” This is correct, as far as it goes. It is my understanding, though, that transfer factor would be most useful, and therefore lucrative, in an un- or under vaccinated population. What Wakefield did was to undermine confidence in the MMR vaccine, thus creating a market for himself.
Boy, the whole Old Guard is out tonight in defense of St. Andy. One thing that I don’t think has been mentioned yet (and I have to admit I have skimmed the comments pretty quickly) is Wakefield’s refusal to acknowledge that the lab results he premised his hypothesis on were pure LAB ERROR. He was warned that what he was calling measles virus was actually just proof that the samples were contaminated, but he charged right ahead. And we’re still dealing with the consequences of his egotism…or narcissism…or whatever you want to call it.
One of the drones makes comment regarding Dr. Fuchs’ religion. Such a comment demonstrates the lack of thought processes, and, the bigotry and intolerance of the Al Quaeda of Austism drones.
Mike Stanton
Measles? or a life time of disability?
something that can be treated such as measles or Autism for life?.
Let me help the readers out the current rate on Autism 1 - 91 children and 1 - 58 boys.
A little history on the prevalence
in the past;
1979 a few vaccines 1 in 10,000 had Autism.
1999 escalated vaccine schedule produces
1 in 500 with Autism.
2001 even more vaccines Rate changes to
1 in 250 with Autism
Two years later the rate reached 1 - 150
Not surprising considering these Emails; Received through the Freedom of Information Act, from the FDA, and the CDC,
When the big light bulb moment came that they were poisoning the very children they were charged with protecting, with the very program designed to fight child hood diseases.
#1 “This was not rocket science it was 9th grade math how could this have happened”.
( You see mike he was referring to the fact that Thimerosal accumulates in the body source; Manufacturer safety data sheet of Thimerosal and it’s ability to
produce Mercury poisoning AKA symptoms
of Autism.
#2 And it’s no longer going to wash that there is no evidence of a risk.
#3 CDC official “whats in the vaccines how could the FDA approve a preservative with out knowing how much mercury it contained,
what else is lurking that we know nothing about”.
#4 FDA officer to another FDA officer “were afraid the public will precieve
us asleep at the switch for decades, for allowing this dangerous compound to remain in the vaccines”
So we could have averted this holocaust
of our most precious resource if the Health agency’s could have done 9th grade
math? Not quite that would mean they were just stupid, It seems they have been warned since 1948 and again in 1982 they had a interim plan to remove it.
It appears Greed and arragance shut their mouths and changed their plans to the detriment of our children born in the 90’s.
They knew this, and that’s why they must be prosecuted for poisoning children!
Dr. Engleys findings from 1948 in the AMA Journal It seems back in the day, at least in 1948 the AMA had some integrity today ZIP! NONE! funny how the loss of pharma dollars changes ones mind about how toxic a toxin is. $$ Dollar signs seems to makes ones eyes blurry.
Dr. Engleys blue ribbon panel findings ( AMA funded )
“We found thimerosal is toxic down to a level that is almost unbelievable. Down to 1.10, maybe 100 nanograms…a millionth of a gram and that is about as toxic as you can get,” he said.”
Also Thimerosal is neither efficacious nor safe, and should be removed as a preservative in prescription biologics and pharmaceutical products, as well as from topical over-the-counter products such as Butt-Balm that have Thimerosal present in their formulations as an active ingredient.
This is why they can’t come forward they were warned in 1948 and again in 1982, by Dr.Engleys team and the FDA and CDC ignored every warning.
This next statement should cause a ground swell of anger for the damage done to our kids! but sadly it won’t, for all you care about AMERICA is money. Or should I say PHARMACUITICA
Dr. Engley “if they had followed through on our 82 report the vaccines would have been freed of thimerosal and all this autism they tell me would not have occurred” you cannot get anymore clearer than that.
To add insult to injury, when they found the damage they had done and finally removed it the Thimerosal. The Dir of the CDC allowed pregnant women and children 6 mos to 2 yrs to be injected with Thimerosal containing flu vaccine, and she used the flu scare to do so. She wasn’t very bright, because at that time the current research on the flu shot and children 6 mos. to 2 yrs was that they receive only a placebo effect from the inactivated flu vacc. Now get ready for this one, on the MSDS of Thimerosal it states that pregnant women should never be exposed to their product for it can cross the placenta and go into the baby and cause Mild ( my thoughts ADD ADHD SPEECH DELAY ) to severe ( my thoughts AUTISM BIPOLAR ANOREXIA ) Mental Retardation.
You see readers If they had not went in preg.women and children with the Thimerosal Autism and add adhd speech delay would have plumited, then it would have been very apparent what happened to the children. MERCURY POISONING!
Again, according to the doctors and those who have not at all been touched personally by autism, I’m just a silly/stupid/gullible Mom of 3 who doesn’t know much…yet who for 6 years now has put her life on hold to find a cure for my son who (like tens of thousands of other moms or dads) who, for God’s sake, witnessed a flipping OVERNIGHT change in our children AFTER a set of immunizations….HOW MUCH MORE EVIDENCE DOES ONE NEED? What would you do, say “Hmmm, I wonder if the shots had anything to do with these open sores/105 degree temp/loss of language??? (All of which we have suffered)
...whoops. In my previous comment I said “overnight change in our children AFTER a set of immunizations” when I should have said with EACH set of…” With each of THREE sets on my son we got OOZING EXCEMA, CYCLICAL raging 105 temps, then finally, loss of language….
Do these doc/people w/ no family members dealing w/ anything think we are that dumb to sit there and say…” OK, continue vaccinating my child! Let’s see how worse things could get? Maybe they’ll become comatose and die…but we can’t ever think of NOT vaccinating them for diseases that happened to prostitutes and IV drug users, that would be wrong, because you never know when my 3 yr old might come down with HEP B! So let’s keep going with the vaccines as much as possible!
According to Robert Krakow
“No Legal Aid Board money (the source of litigation funds) was spent on The Lancet paper. A Legal Aid Board grant was provided for a separate viral detection study. This study was completed later, in 1999, and that the source of funding was the Legal Aid Board. The Lancet paper was submitted for publication before the Legal Aid Board grant was even available to be spent.”
According to the General Medical Council:
“The Legal Aid Board provided funding in two instalments of £25,000, in late 1996 and in 1999 respectively, which was paid into an account which was held by the Special Trustees of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust for the purposes of your research generally,
Admitted and found proved
i. The money provided by the Legal Aid Board was not needed for the items listed at paragraphs 3.d.i. and ii. above, which were funded by the NHS;
Admitted and found proved
‘4. a. You,
i. failed to cause the Legal Aid Board to be informed that investigations represented by the clinicians as being clinically indicated would be covered by NHS funding,
Found proved
The Panel is satisfied that you had a duty to disclose to the LAB, via Mr Barr, that clinically indicated investigations would be funded by the NHS, and that, despite having opportunities to do so, you failed in that duty.
ii. caused or permitted the money supplied by the Legal Aid Board to be used for purposes other than those for which you said it was needed and for which it had been granted,
Found proved in relation to the second instalment of £25,000.
The Panel is content that the first instalment of £25,000 was used for the purposes for which it was granted. The Panel is convinced by documentary, and your own evidence, that you used the second instalment for, amongst other things, research staff wages, not the items listed in 3.d.i and 3.d.ii.
Wakefield admitted to acting as a consultant to Richard Barr. He drew up a research proposal. The LAB approved the proposed study and paid him £25000 in late 1996. He sought ethical approval for the proposed study in September 1996. Ethical approval was granted in December 1996. The study was published in 1998 in the Lancet.
Perhaps Robert Krakow could provide details of the 1999 study that e claims was funded by this money.
Joe
there has never been an autism rate of 1 in 10000. In 1979 in the UK the rate was 1 in 500 for children with learning difficulties - that is an IQ less than 70.
Tar Broke Work ;Aluminum is and has been in children’s vaccines, as a catylist. The HPV contains almost 700 micro grams in the 3 vaccines they suggest.
Hence the 44 young dead girls in the US already from the HPV vacc. multitudes sickened with gulf war type symptoms.
The governor of TX had a MERCK lobbyist as his right hand man, so he tries to make a law that all girls 9yrs and up need their HPV Vacc. there was also a campaign contribution of thousands of dollars.
you said ;“Mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum and anti-freeze” have never been included in MMR. Anti-freeze has never been included in any vaccine. Which MSDS are you reading for thimerosal? Mine does not mention aluminium.
Tar Broke Work;
Are you not aware they may give children 9 vaccines at one time containing mercury aluminum vaccineal MSG and other toxins. Of course vaccines given like this, with ingredients such as these. Cannot be SAFE! you would have to be an IDIOT to think other wise. But you are wrong I vaccinated and have a 19 yr old with the
mental cap. of a 18 mo. to 3 yr old to prove that there is no such of a thing as vaccine safety in the current program.
Considering 200 ppb of mercury is EPA
liquid hazardous waste. Please explain Children receiving from the 90’s on one day at one setting 9 vaccines 7 of which contain the mercury that lucky child just got 32,500 ppb at one setting on one day.

Hmmn. This is a curious comment to parse.
#1Yes, the list of blog posts I’ve been compiling
http://lizditz.typepad.com/i_speak_of_dreams/2010/02/on-the-lancets-retraction-of-wakefields-1998-paper-alleging-a-connection-between-the-mmr-vaccine-and.html
has many more entries from those who think the Lancet retraction was correct, and possibly long overdue.
But “a focus on the neurodiversity movement”? I don’t agree.
I didn’t include blog posts, either objecting to the Lancet retraction or in favor of it, that were mere repeats of news items or blog posts from elsewhere. In order to be included in the post, whether pro- or con- the post had to include some new material.
A quick count shows that many of the entries are from blogs that don’t normally address autism issues. Some are parenting blogs, some are blogs about the some aspect of medicine, including the medical industry, some are political blogs (from quite conservative to quite liberal) some are skeptical blogs, and some are blogs that cover some aspect of science.
#2 “Well it is interesting that Liz and her blog focus on the neurodiversity movement”.
I would not describe my blog as “focusing on the neurodiversity movement”(whatever that is. It’s a topic of debate.) When I started by blog seven years ago, the model I had in the back of my mind was the New Yorker, Harper’s, and the Atlantic—some stories about what is going on in my life, some things I found interesting, some political commentary, and some in-depth reporting or investigations.

Ms. Conrick seems to think that I have excluded the statement from Jenny McCarthy & Jim Carrey, which was published at Age of Autism on February 5. (Title: “A Statement from Jenny McCarthy & Jim Carrey: Andrew Wakefield, Scientific Censorship, and Fourteen Monkeys”). I am not sure when Ms. Conrick looked at my blog. It is also possible that she hasn’t looked at my blog at all, but a text-only version that may be circulating on email lists.
To the best of my recollection, I posted the McCarthy-Carrey link sometime after noon, PST January 5, but it may have been after 6 am PST January 6. Certainly the link was there at the time Ms. Conrick wrote her comment.
Ms. Conrick goes on to write:
“The U.S. vaccine schedule has grown from 10 vaccines given to our children in the 1980s to 36 today, perfectly matching the dramatic rise in autism.”
Before addressing the misstatements of facts, I’d like to give readers another set of data:
from http://www.chop.edu/service/vaccine-education-center/home.html
“Thirty years ago, children received seven vaccines, which protected against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio. The total number of bacterial and viral proteins contained in these seven vaccines was a little more than 3,000.
“Today, children receive 14 different vaccines, but the total number of immunological components in these vaccines is only about 150. This dramatic reduction is the result of scientific advances that have allowed for purer, safer vaccines. “
Are vaccines perfect? Not by a long shot. But they are, by orders of magnitude, safer than the diseases they prevent.
jean; you are fighting pharma paid hit men, this is what they do for a living.
They are paid to put out little fires.
Some maybe readers, most paid.
Might even be a few CDC fire fighters Read at congressional hearings;
1 in 10,000 with Autism in 1979 a well known fact, just as aluminum as a catylist in kids vaccines. You are either very misinformed or tryng to mislead the public.
If you pharma shills and Dr’s want to defend something try 32,500 ppb of mercury, a neurotoxin that is given at one time on one day. Also it is worse than fish mercury and crosses the BBB easier than does the fish mercury.
Also the Emails from CDC and FDA I posted.
I notice how you stay away from the info you cannot possibly defend, with out looking totally stupid.
Joe, playing the pharma shill gambit merely proves you lack sufficient knowledge to discuss the issues. You prove that the anti-vacs do not have facts to back them up.
I am a scientist and an autism parent, and I say with all sincerity that there is no point whatsoever in fighting or trying to argue with people who ascribe to conspiracy theories, anecdote, and deism of cure prophets. I would bet the little hair that there is on my head that most of the folks here who take issue with formaldehyde or make erroneous and hysterical claims about vaccines haven’t hesitated to try one or the other woo-based “therapy” promising a cure, either having it administered orally or by injection. The abuse of anti-fungals alone is horrifying (although it probably makes “big pharma” happy).
Some here have tried to argue that an army of parents observing onset of autism following vaccines at a dictated developmental timepoint cannot be wrong for inferring a link between the vaccine and the onset. And I would say that none of the large, validated studies addressing this very question have uncovered an iota of evidence to support even a correlation, much less a causal link. Further, I point out that there are established single-gene disorders (e.g., Tay-Sachs, tuberous sclerosis) that arise at specific timepoints, often coincident with a vaccine schedule and usually in babies/toddlers who previously appeared “normal.” Were the heritable status of these disorders not already clearly traced (as is easier with the single-gene etiology), I’m sure that the correlation would lead many to think that vaccines were to blame for these, too. But not only is there no real correlation linking vaccines and autism, there’s not an iota of evidence for causation.
Yes, there are vaccine-injured children. It’s among the first of many difficult decisions we have to make for our children, balancing the benefits and risks. And just as with getting into a car and driving them on the highway, sometimes, the risks get the upper hand. I’m not trying to diminish the real seriousness of dangerous vaccine reactions, at all. But there are simply no data supporting a general link between vaccines and autism.
As far as mercury goes, history tells us more than anything about anyone’s being exposed to today. Lead, mercury, arsenic—these heavy metals were used copiously externally and internally as medicines for millennia, in babies, adults, children, pregnant women…and were there some serious link between these exposures and *any* developmental disorder, people would have noted that. It’s easy to scream about mercury, but (1) it hasn’t ever been in the MMR in the United States, (2) my children with autism never received a single shot that contained thimerosal, and (3) studies today—including a very large one—have found no difference in mercury levels between autistic and non-autistic children. As for the bizarre assertion that 32,500 ppb of mercury is injected into a child in one day (!) and that this is worse than “fish mercury,” all I can say is (1) “fish” mercury *has* been demonstrated to cause actual and permanent harm with human embryonic exposure and to other developing vertebrates and invertebrates, and (2) a repeat: there is no thimerosal in childhood vaccines.
As noted, when anyone with whom you’re arguing settles in for attacks on you, rather than on what you’re saying, you know you’ve won. I’d say that at that point, the argument should simply end. See opening statement above. And just for the record, I’ve got my “pharma-fighting” cred. Did something a few years ago that made one Big Pharma Co. a tad unhappy. Kinda hard to argue that someone like me is in the pocket of big pharma or part of the medical establishment, given my published track record. http://www.jurology.com/article/S0022-5347(05)00188-6/abstract
I’ll leave the remainder of this “discussion” to folks who’ve got the patience for this slog. One thing I’d ask is this: Before you go to bed this night or any night, ask yourself if you’ll be OK with the idea that your efforts against having children vaccinated lead to the deaths of actual children from diseases that are easily prevented. Really ask yourself that. Is it something you’re willing to live with, a mother’s loss of her two-month-old infant to whooping cough or a child’s death from measles at age 6 or the resurgence of polio, just to be able to come online and argue for a correlation that doesn’t exist? In the aggregate, you’re endangering lives with this behavior. And not just a few.
First, I find it problematic that you post comments without stating your true name. It is almost impossible to have an honest discussion with individuals who hide behind pseudonyms.
You’re certainly entitled to consider it problematic. An aribitrary arrangement of letters has little bearing on the details however. I pointed out a logical exercise requiring perhaps a junior high school understanding of logic. I pointed out that you have acknowledged that the question of whether or not vaccines cause autism is a scientific one. And I aksed you a personal question. None of these rest on my personal credibility or any scientific expertise.
Incidentally, I think it’s impossible to have an honest discussion with individuals who focus pseudonymity where it is utterly irrelevant.
No one has claimed otherwise.
I do not make special pleading for “anecdote.” That is your way of pejoratively characterizing my plea to credit experience as a legitimate factor in trying to ascertain what has really happened.
It’s not perjorative at all. It’s a statement of fact with regard to logical construct when attempting to answer a scientific question. It is special pleading to push for anecdote in answering a scientific question. While anecdotes do help form hypotheses, data answers scientific questions.
Nice straw man you got there Mr. Krakow. You’re right about correlation. A sequence of events alone tells us nothing about causality. If it did, we could both conclude with absolute certainty that the transition to solid food causes autism. But your claims about criteria for personal judgment are speculative and misplaced, as this conversation is not about me.
Epidemiology is an inexact science but it it must properly factor observation and “anecdote” (I hesitate to use the word because your type of use of the word “anecdote” makes it a bad thing whereas I think it is an important component of evidence if credible).
There you go with the straw man again. I never said anecdotes are bad. They play an important role, and I acknowledged that. Did you miss that part of my first comment? I simply maintain that anecdotes do not answer scientific questions.
It needs to consider the biological mechanism findings that point to potential harm. So I place no special value in anecdote. Nor do I denigrate it.
I think you probably place enormous value on anecdote. It would appear from a scientific perspective, and with respect to MMR, that many who plead for anecdote probably don’t have much of a choice though - according some who’ve looked closely.
http://tinyurl.com/am973y
I might ask you, why you make special pleading for statistical certainty.
Yet another straw man - you seem pretty good at those. All science is always provisional.
The best epidemiological studies can provide is an answer that x study did not prove y result. Yet the entire universe of public health orthodoxy says that epidemiology has shown the vaccine / neurodevelopmentally injury question is “asked and answered” and that vaccines are “100% safe.”
Yet another straw man. No one claims that vaccines are 100% “safe”. I’ll openly acknowledge that it is entirely possible that vaccines could cause autism. If you’re going to extend that beyond possibility, and claim that it does, bring scientific evidence (anecdotes are unnecessary, and already served to create the hypothesis, they don’t answer the scientific question).
My point is that epidemiology has not even examined the right questions - the studies that would yield good answers have not been done.
Off topic, but it kind of makes you wonder why an org like Generation Rescue would apparently spend money on advertising instead of supporting bona fide vaccine safety reasearch or epidemiology that will answer the “right” questions, doesn’t it?
Those studies that point to a vaccine link (Young, Gallagher & Goodman, Hewitson, Burbacher and many others) are dismissed or ignored.
Bailing on the MMR stuff to soon Mr. Krakow? If “Young” refers to the study I think you mean (and I could be wrong), it could be seen as amusing by some that you didn’t mention the Geiers! I won’t promise it’s easy reading, but readers should enjoy this 3-part review:
http://tinyurl.com/5hltsg
http://tinyurl.com/y9sxje2
http://tinyurl.com/y93ftgw
Gallagher & Goodman? The “association” by proxy one?
Apparent Wakefield coworker, Vaccine injury petitioner, Hewitson?
http://tinyurl.com/ychkm8p
http://tinyurl.com/y8epm28
Burbacher 2005? The one that demonstrates that methylmercury is not a valid comparison for ethylmercury?
None of these have been “dismissed” or “ignored”. On the contrary, most have been read by many with great interest, the problem is that they don’t stand up to careful scrutiny to support claims that vaccines cause autism.
Dude, I mean Mr. Krakow, you really seem ready to leap right on to the Hep B mercury bandwagon here (if you haven’t already). What happened to the MMR regression stuff? That’s what the Wakefield paper was about, wasn’t it?
The honest world knows that that the question is not “asked and answered” – vaccines sometimes cause injury, and that the question of how often they cause injury is the question that is not yet understood. That vaccines may also be important positive health measures does not mean that the question of whether they also cause harm - and how much harm they cause - is answered.
Let’s try to stay on topic here Mr. Krakow. There is a handful of not-so-hidden cases where individuals who sustained vaccine injury also had a subsequent autism daignosis,
http://tinyurl.com/cyod28
but vaccines have not been scientifically shown to be a cause of autism.
How much harm vaccines prevent (serious illness, death, and long-term disability due to infectious childhood disease) is answered. Yes, vaccines are not perfect. If you want to make a difference in the world of vaccine safety, why not encourage people who prolly have real money (like Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey) to contribute to bona fide vaccine safety research? Why not promote vaccination to the point diseases are eradicated and the vaccines are no longer necessary (like small pox)?
Relevant to this point is my view, articulated many times publicly and privately, that vaccine injury is NOT the only cause of symptoms that are often diagnosed as “autism.” It is one cause. It may not even be the dominant cause.
Oh crap. There go any arguments of “autism epidemic” for you. But wait, if there’s no “epidemic” than the whole vaccine etiology didn’t have a basis to begin with. Arrghh, the circular logic, it burns. Do you understand the potential incompatibility of your “view” with reality based on vaccine etiology as it’s currently promoted?
What is indisputable is that vaccines cause vaccine injury – call it encephalopathy or some other term – and that the result sometimes is a child who meets the DSM IV criteria for autism.
Wow, for a responsibly disclosed counselor, that seems a possible whopper of non sequitur logic.
How often is this happening? No one really knows. But denial of the question in the name of “science” while deriding those who ask it as “unscientific”, “stupid” or whatever other insults are thrown around does no one any good, least of all the children who are injured.
There is no need to play the insulting scientific meanies card. I consider your “question” a valid one. It is also, as you’ve acknowledged, a scientific one. I’m thinking since you know it’s a scientific question, you need to let it be answered with scientific methodology, and it seems hypocritical to bring in anecdote when it may suit a particular need beyond hypothesis generation.
Freespeaker, seems you are the one who will not answer the questions about the 32,500 ppb or the emailsfrom the CDC and the FDA.
Web definitions for conspiracy;A secret agreement between two or more people to perform an unlawful action. I believe agreeing to hide the mass poisoning of American children. Fits that Defination real well.
At the simpsonwood meeting; Dr. Brent, pg. 229: “The medical/legal findings in this study, causal or not, are horrendous and therefore, it is important that the suggested epidemiological, pharmacokinetic, and animal studies be performed. If an allegation was made that a child’s neurobehavioral findings were caused by Thimerosal containing vaccines, you could readily find junk scientist who would support the claim with “a reasonable degree of certainty”. But you will not find a scientist with any integrity who would say the reverse with the data that is available. And that is true. So we are in a bad position from the standpoint of defending any lawsuits if they were initiated and I am concerned.”
Just in case you did not understand what you just read,He was saying with the current research that is out there.
They could all be sued. WOW! where is the concern for the children? There wasn’t any by most except Dr. Weil. Next you find them scrambling trying to hide the findings by playing with the numbers; Dr. Weil, pg. 207: “The number of dose related relationships are linear and statistically significant. You can play with this all you want. They are linear. They are statistically significant. The positive relationships are those that one might expect from the Faroe Islands studies. They are also related to those data we do have on experimental animal data and similar to the neurodevelopmental tox data on other substances, so that I think you can’t accept that this is out of the ordinary. It isn’t out of the ordinary.”
Dr. Weil, pg. 208: “The rise in the frequency of neurobehavioral disorders whether it is ascertainment or real, is not too bad. It is much too graphic. We don’t see that kind of genetic change in 30 years.”
Now hiding what they found was;
Dr. Bernier, pg. 256: ” You may have given a copy, but I think if we will all just consider this embargoed information, if I can use that term, and very highly protected information, The CDC is not supposed to do anything, that is not in the public eye with complete transparentsy. All they were worried about is covering thier sorry arragant
do nothing buts.
Do’C,
I thought it nice how you handled Mr. Krakow’s rather odd comment:
First, I find it problematic that you post comments without stating your true name. It is almost impossible to have an honest discussion with individuals who hide behind pseudonyms.
Of course it is possible. There is no logical reason why it isn’t possible. It is difficult to have good conversations when people resort to such statements as the one above, however.
My own personal opinion is that Mr. Krakow should make it clear in forums such as this one that he is a litigant in vaccine court and could be taking his case to regular courts if that attempt should fail. Being a litigant carries no stigma, but it would educate the causal reader as to his potential bias.
Liz Ditz do not give us the antagen crap we are talking Mercury in amounts that
are as Dr.Hilliman the grand father of Mercks vaccine program, put it “rather large” (32,500 ppb at one setting on one day!)Please answer that one!!!
He also said 78 times what the EPA says is safe “were not talking daily doses we are talking BOLUS doses all at once.
When veiwed in this manner it appears rather large” he also said he was concerned. Liz you can read can’t you? you do know what rather large means?
There is also Vaccineal MSG
formaldahyde and Aluminum just to name a few of the toxic crap that is in kids vaccines! The CDC just said that there
is no safe levels for formaldahyde. How stupid is that statement! it’s in children’s vaccines and vaccineal route is much worse that ingested. You and yours could not win this argument, we the parents have done our home work. And it is very apparent you have not!or you would not have said Aluminum was not in vaccines It seems you never read the simpsonwood transcripts. Dr. Caserta, pg. 234: “One of the things I learned at the Aluminum Conference in Puerto Rico that was tied into the metal lines in biology and medicine that I never really understood before, is the interactive effect of different metals when they are together in the same organism. It is not the same as when they are alone, and I think it would be foolish for us not to include aluminum as part of our thinking with this.” Do you really think they would be mentioning Aluminum if it was not in Vaccines? Tar Broke Work
ARE you own the spectrum?
To M. Robertson:
Sure, one can have a logical discourse without revealing one’s true identity. I find it problematic to engage in such a dialogue with a nameless and faceless pseudonymous blog poster. This is especially true when that poster seems to be aware of past statements I have made that he pointedly challenges. My concern is about honesty and candor. It’s OK, that is my personal issue. I am n ot saying you are dishonest. If “Do’C” or anyone else wants to hide his or her true name, that is his or her choice. If you find it difficult to have discussions with me if I raise pseudonymity that is fine too. It is you who engaged me directly with some debating points. Ideally, I would prefer to eyeball those with whom I have conversations. Seems to wring more honesty out of the discourse and is much more productive. I know precisely why I am pursuing discussions on these subjects - I just wonder about why you pursue them.
As far as M. Robertson’s inevitable comment about my personal disclosure, please take a look at my very first post on this series of comments. M. Robertson must have missed it. I made full disclosure. I absolutely agree that being a litigant carries no stigma. To the contrary, it is an honorable good faith exercise of one’s civil rights in our nation. That is how disputes are settled. I am very happy for you to know who I am and what I do. I am not sure why others feel it necessary to conceal this kind of information, but there is no requirement that they reveal themselves.
As to the point about an epidemic, I absolutely agree with many, including Thomas Insel of the NIMH that it is evident that there has been a true increase in the rate of neurodevelopmental disorders, including those diagnosed with DSM-IV autism. How much of the rate increase we observe represents a true increase is unknown. Use of the word “epidemic” is imprecise although as a description of what has happened I think it is OK to use the word. Even if a minority of the cases contributing to the increase are vaccine injury - and no one knows the numbers or percentages - the vaccine injured make up a portion of those numbers. I also believe there has been an increase in the rate of vaccine injury, again how much is unknown. Finally, there is no doubt there are multiple environmental causes at work - we know of many such causes already, including a number of drugs (thalidomide, terbutaline, valproic acid), various vaccines (including DTa_P, HepB, MMR) and other suspected environmental agents such as pesticides, possibly stachybatrys mold, and more. Others are yet to be discovered. It isn’t just vaccines, and likely is multifactorial with diet and cumulative exposures to toxins playing a major role.
Because there are likely many causes of the behaviorally defined disorder known as “autism” it is meaningless to discuss the issue as if the question is: Does MMR cause autism or not. And if not, then vaccines are exonerated? It is much more complicated than that. So, the debating exercise in these kinds of blogs is not very illuminating, if the questions are posed in this fashion.
In any case, I have said all I wanted to say. We have reached the point where we are engaging in gamesmanship in a debating contest that resolves little or nothing.
My original point was made in my comment on Dr. Fuchs’s commentary on Dr. Wakefield and in response to the M.D., Ph.D who felt that individuals who hold views such as mine are a societal menace, and who wanted to start a class action for wrongful death against persons who don’t vaccinate their kids. Abstract debates about science and the nature of evidence are remote from the main issues I wanted to address, and have been pursued elsewhere at great length.
To “Freespeaker”, the pseudonym of the person that used the phrase “Al Queda of Autism” you are truly offensive and all too free with your barbs. You really need to get a life instead of hurling dumb insults at other persons. Your insensitivity is astounding and would be laughable if it didn’t hit a little too close to home for some of us who have experienced pretty close up the consequences of real terrorism. Speaking as a New Yorker who on 9/11 had an office right at ground zero I think you, as an American, should be ashamed of yourself for speaking that way to me and the others who are trying to protect the interests of our kids.
It has been a pleasure. Kol tuv (Be Well),
Sincerely,

Disclosure:I have a son who has a vaccine injury claim pending and I represent families who have claims.
I am going to prove that the CDC VSD data was and is useless, and misleading. Also the Denmark study was even worse than the Big populous studies that were deemed to be worthless. The Dir. of the CDC will be one my sources also a congressional report with the head of the panel asked by the powerful house appropriation’s committee to look at the CDC data on autism and vaccines. All the Studies are from the VSD that you all quote, except the Denmark study that is always quoted as saying, we took Thimerosal out of the vaccines and the Autism rate went up. I will cover the Denmark study now. You see weeks before the IOM meeting the CDC was in an email saying that the IOM meeting is in weeks and we have searched frantically and cannot find anything. So we are going to have to go overseas to get us a study.
The email was received through the FOIA
act. In another embarrassing email the CDC person is practically on his hands and knees begging the Pharma whore AAP
journal to look at this new study that is very well done and is a great study.
Just my thoughts as the dad of a very sick child, if a study is a good study then it should get in on it’s own merits. And not begged in by the CDC that is desperate ( Remember we searched frantically ) to find the toxin they poisoned the children with, declared
a nontoxic. In one email FOIA received
the woman from the Denmark study is saying in an email to the CDC that as of 2001 the the incidence rates of autism is continuing to decline.
Declining is not going up!
The head of the panel from the NIEHS saidDr. Irva Hertz-Picciotto, As questionable as the US thimerosal study was, “it was an
improvement on other studies, including the two in Denmark, both of which
had serious weaknesses in their designs,”
It appears someone is lying to the people about the Denmark study.
Now for the rest of the studies you all love to quote the big Populace studies of hundreds of thousands of kids in the VSD.
Also the IOM used these studies to clear
Thimerosal and the MMR. You are going to find out, they were misleading the people on purpose.
“CDC Director Dr. Julie Gerberding has delivered a potentially explosive
report to the powerful House Appropriations Committee, in which she admits to a startling string of errors in the design and methods used in the CDC’s
landmark 2003 study that found no link between mercury in vaccines and
autism, ADHD, speech delay or tics. this is the studies the IOM used to
conclude that vaccines are not associated with autism. It seems that mountain of evidence they claimed they had was in fact a mirage.
Here is the Dir. proving my point!
Dir. of the CDC ‘s response to the allegations that their flag ship studies were fatally flawed according to congress and the NEIHS “CDC concurs,” Dr.Gerberding wrote in an undated mea culpa to Congress. She also said; Dir. of the CDC adding that her agency “does not plan to use” the database in question, the Vaccine Safety Datalink, (VSD) for any future “ecological studies” of autism. In fact, Gerberding’s report said, any continued use of the VSD for similar
ecological studies of vaccines and autism “would be uninformative and potentially misleading.” So the Dir. of the CDC that said that the VSD studies were of sound design and very good quality very robust.
is now saying that they were useless!
That explains the president G.W. Bush
trying to seal the VSD forever after the
provision put in the Homeland security bill was removed. because it was not voted in it was just put in the bill.
Let see! the logic of sealing a Data base
that is supposed to prove the children were not harmed. That is not logical and
that is why Senator Leahy wrote the President a letter and said why are you sealing the documents for one, and why are you sealing them forever. It’s as though you robbed the bank and you are trying to hide the proof of the damage done. Now mister President I want any communications between you and your staff and any Pharmaceutical company’s.
Immediately the President withdraws the request. Then Senate Bill 3 protecting America from terrorism 2003 it gives any fallen soldiers family 100,000 dollars.
The real reason was the provision in the back that was another attempt to protect
Makers of the product Thimerosal from those pesky vaccine damaged children.
We defeated it, then some republican
Senators put 10 shot gun bills togather with the protection for the Thimerosal damaged litigation and passed it.
If you cannot see how corrupt this all was, then you are corrupt also.
Interesting science:
Hepatitis B Vaccination of Male Neonates and Autism
Annals of Epidemiology, Volume 19, Issue 9, Pages 659-659
C. Gallagher, M. Goodman
3X risk of autism when baby boys get this vaccine on day one of life? Seems highly unethical in the child of a mother who was already vaccinated for Hepatitis B and its happening everyday in the USA.
Wonder what the good MD, PhD in immunology above can tell us about maternal immuno-interfernce and how that might impact efficacy and ethics of use of this vaccine in the first year of life?
I am astounded to see the suggestion by “GN MD PhD in Immunology” suggesting parents of unvaccinated children be held liable for infections in other children. Likewise, can parents of vaccine injured kids hold parents of healthy kids responsible? How does one manage to get all those degrees in a human health science, and learn nothing of nutrition vis a vis disease transmission and immune function?
GN, are you aware of the much decreased illness, infection, asthma, and autism in the unvaccinated Chicago cohort (>30,000 children)? These children are healthier, get sick much less often, because their immune systems have not been overstimulated and riddled with toxins from vaccines. Do you not know that children who get Prevnar still get ear infections and myringotomy tubes, that this vaccine has a >90% failure rate, and is credited with inviting more virulent pneumococcal strains to infect our children? This is just one of many examples of why vaccines have failed us more than helped at this point.
Nutrition status -not vaccination status - wields enormous power over whether or not a child succumbs to infection. This fact is inexplicably ignored in this debate, and in pediatric practice and training today. Worldwide, over five million children die annually from infections -including measles- that they would have survived or avoided altogether, if they had been in normal nutrition status (see the work of Pelletier PhD from Cornell Univ on this, for starters). There is ample, well pedigreed science on nutritional epidemiology that illustrates how nutrition status and individual nutrients drive robust immune function in children.
Vaccines do not make robust immune function, or strong nutrition status. Food and nutrients do that. Vitamin A alone reduced mortality from infection 23% (view this research at Micronutrient dot Org).
Elementary tenets of public health nutrition defy much of what is asserted by the pro-vaccine community. So do accepted facts of child nutrition in clinical practice. Turning the debate into zealotry and religion is workable if you want to scare and control people - but I’d rather stick to facts.
The Hep B study has not been published in Annals of Epidemiology. It was mentioned in a letter hence the single page reference 659 - 659. So far the study has not been published anywhere. All we have to go on is a poster presentation. When it is published I shall be interested to read why they included subjects born in 1982 when Hep B was only mandated in 1991. I also wonder how they found any statistical significance given that their autism group was only 33 compared to the 7796 non-autistics in the study.
RE: Gallagher and Goodman
As Gallagher and Goodman (the authors of the poster presentation of this apparently forthcoming study) themselves noted (among other things), “cross-sectional design limits causal inferences”, “autism diagnosis is parent-reported”, and “secondary data analysis does not support conclusions regarding risk attributable to specific vaccine components”.
The poster data is represented as being for boys age 3-17 between 1997 and 2002, which means the age group spans the evolution of the term “autism” to “autism spectrum disorders” (with the additions of PDD-NOS and Asperger Syndrome). It also means they span broadening of the criteria for autism itself. It will be interesting to see how they controlled for that changing definition of “autism”, and the impact of awareness and recognition, which is especially important since this poster is based on partental reports of a diagnosis.
I am waiting for some one to explain how the CDC Dir. could claim good quality
robust studies in the VSD for years, and
then when apparently caught by the Bad news in the congressional report. She the Dir. of the CDC all of a sudden comes to the conclusion, the large populous studies were misleading. And one year after leaving the CDC, she goes to work
for Merck. And is pushing a worthless vaccine for HPV that has killed 44 young women and injured countless others with gulf war type symptoms she has no conscience or integrity. 100% Pure EVIL
Someone that makes vaccines said, the people that work for her call her cruella
Deville. Now is that someone who should be heading up the vaccine program for MERCK? It is, considering that Merck had a hit list for Dr.s who talked against their products. The Dir. will fit in just fine, she is their kind of person.
No conscience and no integrity, and she apparently hates children. She help to poison a generation of them.
“I am astounded to see the suggestion by “GN MD PhD in Immunology” suggesting parents of unvaccinated children be held liable for infections in other children. Likewise, can parents of vaccine injured kids hold parents of healthy kids responsible?”
Healthy kids are not a cause of vaccine injury. Surely you are aware of the VICP and USCFC where parents of vaccine-injured kids can be compensated (with a very low standard of proof). We all pay for that (it’s part of vaccine cost).
The no-fault program, does provide some relief from litigation to vaccine makers because they provide a valuable tool of modern medicine to society. What do vaccine-rejecting parents provide of value to society by not vaccinating, that should be provided some relief from litigation so that it can continue?
Let’s see Freespeaker, they take a newborn (premature or not), claim it needs to be protected from a sexually transmitted disease, inject it with a solution of 25,000 ug/l of the most toxic form of mercury (along w/Al) are cleared of all liability for injury, and you have the gall to refer to the parents of vaccine injured kids as terrorists? What a sick, messed up individual you are.
”...inject it with a solution of 25,000 ug/l of the most toxic form of mercury (along w/Al)”
It’s a good thing infants don’t receive 1 liter injections, isn’t it? The pediatric dose of Hep B vaccine contained 12.5 micrograms of ethylmercury per .5ml dose. (Thimerosal 1:20,000) This vaccine was replaced 10 years ago by a thimerosal-free version for all pediatric doses.
http://tinyurl.com/yzpy92h
Regarding the most toxic forms of mercury, you should probably read up on dimethylmercury.
http://tinyurl.com/ccxr7
Also, if you’re really out for fear factor, you could change your argument to:
“...inject it with a solution of 25,000,000 ug/kl…”
That’s twenty-five million micrograms - oh my!
Let’s correct your disgust with Free Speaker’s name calling for factual accuracy, shall we?
“...and you have the gall to refer to parents who allege that vaccines caused their kids’ autism as terrorists”
Joe blathered: “Web definitions for conspiracy;A secret agreement between two or more people to perform an unlawful action. I believe agreeing to hide the mass poisoning of American children. Fits that Defination real well.”
Well, Joe, only to someone who is scientifically illiterate and thinks (for want of a better term) that children are poisoned by vaccines. You see, I know that they are not. My knowledge is based on science, logic and having a firm grip on reality.
As for Simpsonwood, try some reading at http://tinyurl.com/yj7lqcj.
Dear Wendy who said they take a newborn (premature or not), claim it needs to be protected from a sexually transmitted disease, inject it with a solution of 25,000 ug/l of the most toxic form of mercury (along w/Al) are cleared of all liability for injury, and you have the gall to refer to the parents of vaccine injured kids as terrorists? What a sick, messed up individual you are. Aww, Wendy, youhurt me so…NOT. First, Ethyl Mercury is NOT the most toxic form of mercury. That comment, alone, tells me you are ignorant. Second, the vaccine is not weight adjusted, thus telling me that you have not a clue as to what you are yapping about. What is the volume of an average vaccination doseage? Way less than a liter. Do I have to explain the difference to you? And, I call the anti-vacs at the Al Quaeda of Autim blog, the leadership, just what they are. They use despicable tactics to try to silence those who point out what they are doing.
FreeSpeaker-
You appear to be a bully here who uses name calling and snide comments to try and get your point across - that you like vaccines and will literally blog to no one to get that point across. Your issues are mostly without merit and attacking.
Getting back to the original premise, that Dr. Fuchs has not read the science or else is told what to say here.
I would like him to comment on my previous post, about the research correlating to Dr. Wakefield’s:
Clinical Presentation and Histologic Findings at Ileocolonoscopy in Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Chronic Gastrointestinal Symptoms
Publication Date: 27 Jan 2010
http://la-press.com/article.php?article_id=1816
“Results: Diarrhea was present in 78%, abdominal pain in 59% and constipation in 36%.
Further work is needed to determine whether resolution of histopathology with appropriate therapy is accompanied by GI symptomatic and cognitive/behavioral improvement.”

freespeaker Just for you; Thimerosal starts out organic mercury,as it travels through the body It then changes into ethyl-mercury. It enters the brain easier than does the methyl-mercury
( Thomas Burbacher primate study )
probably because of the Aluminum as a catalyst in children’s vaccine. You
see, Aluminum appears to make the BBB
more porous. When it enters the brain,
it turns into inorganic mercury by 2.5
times that as the methyl-mercury.
Inorganic mercury is the most damaging to the mitochondria, next is Vaccineal MSG
both are in the the children’s vaccines.
That explains, the huge increase in mild to severe mental disorders in children.
Everthing in vaccines is damaging to the mitochondria, and depletes the most needed glutathione. They could have not produced a more efficient brain destroyer if they tried.
The people in vaccine safety are sick in the head, and that is being kind. For what they have done to the children, is barbaric. So when you say that methyl-mercury is worse, you are wrong. In that
the inorganic change is what is appears to be destroying our children’s brains.
The fact that the Thimerosal is given
vaccineal is even more devastating to
the body of the child. Totally SICK!
Freespeaker; The IOM was ordered not to
find a link to Thimerosal or MMR. At the
IOM meeting Marie McCormick of the vaccine commission stated that Walter A. Orenstein, M.D., Director of the National Immunization Program (NIP) wants you to declare these are safe on a population
basis. Later she says what Walt wants Walt generally gets. Freespeaker I do not here a lot of science, in this order
to find vaccines safe. Now think about this, we are finding that this is a sub-
set populace that is more sesitive to the Mercury. So instead of trying to help a
large sub-set populace that have been harmed by their vaccines, this chicken crap from the NIP abandons them. And throws their parents under the bus. By a corrupt vaccine compensation program. BTW
The IOM minutes proved they caved to the NIP CDC pressure,to declare vaccines safe. One of the members said;
“We’ve got a dragon by the tail here,” states a committee member in the
transcript. “At the end of the line, what we know is and I agree that the more negative that presentation [the report] is, the less likely people are to use vaccination, immunization, and we know what the results of that will be. We are kind of caught in a trap. How we work our way out of the trap, I think, is the charge.” This is proof they decided to lie to the public, when faced with the charge of finding vaccines safe and finding other wise. They used the excuse
that the public will stop vaccinating,so
they decided to lie. You see freespeaker
you are not caught in a trap if you find that vaccines are safe. And you don’t have to work your way out of something your not in. It wasn’t hard, the CDC
made it easy by telling the IOM to pay more attention to the large populace VSD studies. I shared with you about the CDC Dir. admitting the VSD studies being useless and misleading also the President had so much faith in the VSD studies that he was trying to seal the VSD data base for ever. You really want to defend this WHAT A JOKE!!!! Actually it is CRIMINAL!

The National Vaccine Compensation Program is supposed to be non adversarial non confrontational no fault system, that is to pay the parents for the children that have been harmed by the vaccine program. what a fricken joke on the parents, they are so corrupt;
This is just one example, of a case that was totally corrupt. In that the people at the NIH was threatening through others the special witness for the vaccine injured. In other words witness tampering!
The vaccine court can be a hostile place not only for petitioners but for their expert witnesses too.
Take the case of Dr. Derek Smith. A neurologist and assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, Smith had been retained to testify for people with transverse myelitis, a potentially paralyzing neurological disorder.
Smith said he was “highly confident” that the tetanus vaccine could trigger the ailment in certain vulnerable individuals. Officials with the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program strongly disagreed.
Petitioners in vaccine court can have a tough time finding top experts, in part because many doctors are reluctant to say vaccines can cause harm. But Smith had no such qualms.
“He was so smart,” said Sylvia Chin-Caplan, a lawyer for dozens of victims of the neurological ailment. “I had somebody who had academic credentials, who did research and had a clinical practice,” she said. “Those are the best people you can get.”
Then Smith quit.
According to court papers and interviews, Smith decided to bail out after complaints were lodged with his superiors by three other experts with a long history of testifying for the government in vaccine court.
Smith had raised the ire of one of these men—Dr. Roland Martin, a prominent researcher at the National Institutes of Health. The two had gone head-to-head as opposing witnesses, and Martin claimed that Smith had mischaracterized some of his research.
Early in 2002, Smith was informed by his supervisors, Dr. David Hafler at Harvard and Dr. Howard L. Weiner of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where Smith had his clinical practice, that people they respected told them Smith “was ruining his reputation by his testimony in the vaccine program,” according to a document filed in vaccine court.
Wary of antagonizing people who could affect his career, Smith decided to drop out after testifying in one last case, according to Chin-Caplan and other sources.
Although there were no explicit threats, Chin-Caplan said Smith was told in so many words that he was jeopardizing his access to research funding.
His loss “was really heartbreaking, ” Chin-Caplan said. She also considered it a case of witness tampering.
Smith declined to be interviewed. None of the five other doctors—his supervisors and the three government witnesses—would comment.Nor would program officials discuss the propriety of their witnesses contacting Smith’s bosses. They said in a written statement that they were “not privy to and cannot control professional interactions on the part of VICP medical experts.”
This is an amendment to the previous post.

Hi Ms. Conrick,
Let’s assume, for the sake of discussion, that Dr. Fuchs has read the relevant science and all of the testimony from the Omnibus Autism Proceedings for the first three test cases, who would be telling him what to say here?
If he does comment on what you’ve provided, I hope he’ll also comment on the editorial board of the new journal you cite:

Dear Dr. Fuchs,
What do you think about the editorial board of Autism Insight? Which members have been involved in vaccine litigation? Which members are associated with Andrew Wakefield? Which members are Andrew Wakefield?

Do’C How can the Special master Hastings say that we had no choice to rule the
way we did because the science was so overwhelming against the parents.
WHAT SCIENCE?????
I have proved that the CDC Dir. Gerberding was misleading the
public. By her concurring to
the report on the large populace
studies in the VSD and that they
were in fact useless an misleading.
Also the IOM used those studies
to declare the vaccines safe,with
no link to the vaccines and Autism
I showed the IOM was pressured by
the CDC to deceive the public.
And that the IOM used the excuse
the public would stop vaccinating
so they felt justified when they
bowed the CDC pressure and decided
to deceive the public.
The Denmark study was also used by
the special master Hastings. And I
proved the Denmark study was fraud
in all aspects.
As the head of the panel said, that was
ordered to look at the vaccine Autism
science the CDC had.
Dr. Irva Hertz-Picciotto,said something that makes the Special master Hastings look like a deciever. Dr. Picciotto
said that leaves the cdc with very
little to say that vaccines and Autism are not associated in anyway. Well
thats not what were hearing from the
not so Special master Hastings.
Seems he is either very corrupt or is very misinformed. Either way this kind of behavior is not what one might expect,
from a supposedly fair vaccine compensation program.
The frightening ignorance of people who are so deluded by propagandan and so mis-informed about the REAL medical issues regading vaccines that they would actually believe research irregularities in this study would “close the debate”. Unbelievable.
Educate yourselves. There is much, much, much, much, more to this issue than the Lancet study.
Do’C -
I am asking Dr. Fuchs to talk about science here. Hard facts about Ileal lymphoid hyperplasia, non-specific colitis, colonic lymphonodular hyperplasia, and colonic CD8 and T cell filtration with epithelial damage in children with autism. Also, I would like to see what he thinks after reading these studies-“Balzola F et al . “Autistic enterocolitis: confirmation of a new inflammatory bowel disease in an Italian cohort of patients.” Gastroenterology 2005;128(Suppl. 2);A-303. ” and “Balzola, F., et al., “Panenteric IBD-like disease in a patient with regressive autism shown for the first time by wireless capsule enteroscopy: Another piece in the jig-saw of the gut-brain syndrome?” American Journal of Gastroenterology, 2005. 100(4): p. 979- 981.”
Mr. Krakow cracked: “To “Freespeaker”, the pseudonym of the person that used the phrase “Al Queda of Autism” you are truly offensive and all too free with your barbs. You really need to get a life instead of hurling dumb insults at other persons. Your insensitivity is astounding and would be laughable if it didn’t hit a little too close to home for some of us who have experienced pretty close up the consequences of real terrorism. Speaking as a New Yorker who on 9/11 had an office right at ground zero I think you, as an American, should be ashamed of yourself for speaking that way to me and the others who are trying to protect the interests of our kids.”
Let’s get one thing out of the way…Bob…I buried several friends during the weeks and months that followed 9/11. I sat Shiva with a member of my Temple whose husband’s remains, to this day, have never been found. My family has joined with that family, including 4 children, two of which have serious developmental disabilities, to go out and enjoy life. My two sons, both with serious disabilities, one of whom attended school just up the road from you in Albertson, lost people that made a difference in their lives, e.g. our neighbor and son’s Little League coach.
I worked on Fulton Street before the WTC was started. I was one of the first tenants in the upper floors of the buildings. I proposed to my wife at Windows on the World.
I was in my office day after day after 9/11 and heard the continuous sounds of funeral processions driving by.
As for living with terrorism, I an a combat vet fron Vietnam, and lived in a Kibbutz in Israel for a year with daily 122mm rocket attacks.
Do not try to play high and mighty with me, you cannot win that game wrt 9/11 or terrorism. Been there, done that.
I used the metaphor of Al Quaeda to describe just how despicable I feel that the AoA Collective leadership is, and, after reading your bilge, feel you fit right in. Two medically trained people disagree with you, one an expert in infectious disease, and you feebly try to imply that they are uneducated. That is the sort of thinking that shows you have no faith in your position.
Joe burped: “You appear to be a bully here who uses name calling and snide comments to try and get your point across - that you like vaccines and will literally blog to no one to get that point across. Your issues are mostly without merit and attacking.”
I respond: Joe, of course what I say is without merit to you. You disagree, and the easiest way to dismiss me is to say I am without merit. Of course it is attacking, as your posts are. See next paragraph and my comment:
Joe burped again: “Getting back to the original premise, that Dr. Fuchs has not read the science or else is told what to say here.”
Joe, THAT is an attack. Period. I’ll explain it to you, as you obviously do not understand what an attack is. Since you disagree with Dr. Fuchs, you “know” he cannot be right, and thus he has not read the science or is being told what to say. You do not address the issues when you say that.
As for your comment about my being a bully…I take the tactics of the AoA Collective, their Drones and Hangers-On, and push the envelop. I do not “out” people, I do not cybersquat on URLs, I do not commence or threaten frivolous lawsuits or subpoenas to silence those with whom I disagree. THOSE, Joey, are serious bullying tactcs, which you apparently approve of.
Joe, you post a lot of conspiracy crap, with no citations as to the sources. Do not be upset if I feel sorry for you since you are so angray at not being given that “perfect child”. I have two kids, both of whom are not that “perfect child”. I was angry, got help, and got over it. I enjoy both of them every single waking minute, and have some great dreams. My younger son, who has CP and is in a wheelchair, volunteers for an organization that deals with many terminally ill children. He explained why, to me, “Dad, these kids have it really tough, they may die. I have to do something.”
Joe, get help for your anger.
Do’C you said this “Surely you are aware of the VICP and USCFC where parents of vaccine-injured kids can be compensated (with a very low standard of proof). We all pay for that (it’s part of vaccine cost).

I think I proved the NVICP is pretty much a fraudulent agency, ran by insiders of the vaccine makers that have a goal to not pay so many claims. This sends the message albeit false that their vaccines are safe. When in fact they are far from it, this nation has never been sicker.
This statement,from you is very interesting;
(with a very low standard of proof). We all pay for that (it’s part of vaccine cost).
The NVICP was giving so much money under Clinton that
I think,it was Donna Shalala that moved the bar so high it’s almost impossible to meet the new guidelines.
The amount of time for a reaction to take place,is not even what the manuf. says is possible so they escape paying out 90% or more of the claims.
The amount of time for a reaction to take place,is not even what the manuf. says is possibile,so they escape paying out 90% or more of the claims.
Maybe, you did not know all this?
To Freespeaker who said “Do not try to play high and mighty with me, you cannot win that game wrt 9/11 or terrorism. Been there, done that.” and who tried to justify the use of the “Al Quaeda” slur:
First, now I know who you are although I don’t remember your true name. You are a neighbor almost. I really do not understand the extreme nature of your comments, that verge on hate speech. Given your life’s experience I would have thought you would have developed some better perspective and exercise some restraint.
I repeat, even more strongly than before now that I know who you are - your reference to “Al Quaeda is offensive.” I don’t understand how you could not see that given your exposure to Ground Zero and its aftermath. Your justification for your use of hate speech is not persuasive. Your complete insensitivity to the point of view of other people and your rhetorical extremism don’t serve you well. I strongly empathize with your broad life’s experience, especially your hands on experience of a child with a disability - and I have enormous respect for the way you report you have responded to those challenges - but I won’t tolerate insults nor should anyone else.
I would be happy to discuss this with you person to person and eye to eye as maybe then you might conduct yourself in a civil manner.
Robert J. Krakow
Free speaker; you need to get the people who write
you, straight with what was said. I did not say those things.
Source #1 house appropriations report the CDC Dir.Admitting fault.and the VSD on Autism and
vaccines is misleading.
Information on the Denmark study, was FOIA obtained
emails. Better proof than the emails, is like Dr. Haley
said if the Thimerosal had a protective effect from Autism like Anders Hivid said. (Brought from the Staten serum institute Denmark), that testified at the IOM meeting. Why if the numbers of Autism were going up, didn’t Denmark put Thimerosal back in the vaccines?
To save the little children from Autism. To date non of the country’s have put it back in, that have removed it.
The information on the IOM, was leaked out by someone at the meeting that was apparently scared of what they were hearing. As of yet the IOM never said the minutes were not real. Also they have been used in court, you really need to read Byron child Mag. In fact Byron Child mag. asked to see the contract between the IOM and the CDC because someone had said that the order not to find a link was in the contract. So they asked the spokesperson Curtis Allen of the CDC to look at the contract between the IOM and the CDC he stated, that it is only available in heavily eradicated and blacked out format.
The Information on President Bush sealing the VSD
is common knowledge, also I have the 2 letters from
the Senators stopping him cold. You see Bush did not want to provide the Senators with his or his staffs
communications with the pharma. companys.
Senate bill #3 is common knowledge look it up I did.
Like I said, if you cannot see how corrupt this is. Then most likely you are corrupt also.
Free speaker always remember this, I all ways back up what I write, with facts
Joe, you DID write that, as I merely cut and pasted what you posted. I’ll do it again.
“Information on the Denmark study, was FOIA obtained
emails.”
Joe, the FOIA, which I constantly use in my business, as well a relevant corresponding state laws, does not apply to Denmark, which is a lovely country, with some great food, especially herring, which anti-vacs like to post. The Denmark study was not perfect, but it surely provided excellent, well documented, proof.
“Better proof than the emails, is like Dr. Haley…” Like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, there is no such thing as “better proof” from Haley. Did you take high school chemistry? If so, then explain the chemical signficance of the fact that one mercury atom contained in one molecule of thimerosal comprises 49.?% of the molecular weight. Haley thinks it means something regarding toxicity, etc. Oh, and Haley is the one pumping kids full of an industrial chelator that was never tested on humans before he marketed it.
Better proof than the emails, is like Dr. Haley
It is my intention to use extreme metaphor, hyperbole and other literary techniques to challenge the anti-vaccinationistas behavior. Their leadership feels free to sue or threaten to sue, to silence people with whom they disagree. The smear and attack their opponents, cybersquat on URLs where they have appropriated their opponents’ names, use techniques such as “outing”, etc. to intimidate into silence. When I turn their tactics around, and up the ante, they bleat and bray (I was going so say like the jackasses they are, but decided to tone it down). None of them have been physically threatened, none of them have had their employers contacted, etc. If you have complaints about behavior, lay them at the foundation.
Just curious, posters like Do’C and FreeSpeaker: What do you think of the research by V.K. Singh et al that has found antibodies to MBP associated with the vaccine measles virus of the MMR in the damaged guts of children diagnosed w/autism?
The hypothesis here is that the MMR, with its measles virus component cultured on chick embryo cells, is contaminated w/MBP, which then causes the body, in mounting an immune reaction to the vaccine & its constituents, to mount an autoimmune reaction to its own MBP; which results in damage to the myelin sheathing protecting the cranial nerve systems; and the measles virus, perhaps in part because of its association w/two other live viruses at the same time, damages the gut lining (leaky gut syndrome), thus allowing peptides, and the measles virus itself, to circulate up to the already damaged brain, and cross that weakened BBB.
There’s also the matter of glutamate/glutamic acid being present in the live-virus vaccine (as a stabilizer). Not only is it an excitotoxin in its own right (in the wrong place), but it is known to lower levels of glutathione, the body’s main chelator of heavy metals/toxins. Thus, when the MMR is administered at the same time as other vaccines, with their loads of heavy metals/toxins, it could cause the child’s body to have a harder time eliminating them - and especially if the child has the genetic polymorphism that has been demonstrated to cause a subset of children not to be able to eliminate those substances as easily as other children.
Isn’t all this sort of thing worth serious investigation? Or should we not ‘go there’ because any criticism of the vax schedule will hurt the overriding cause of herd immunity??
Just checking how far your defense of vaccines, and criticism of criticisms of them, goes.
“..but I won’t tolerate insults nor should anyone else.”
For someone who won’t tolerate insults, you seem to spend a lot of time with people who regularly insult bona-fide scientists and health care providers. Your selective outrage is just a way of avoiding hard questions. I take it as seriously as I do your so-called science.
The Denmark source was a letter from a woman that was on the study in Denmark. She sent the letter to the CDC, so again you are wrong. The letter was obtained through the FOIA act from the CDC United States.
I’m still waiting, on what will 32,500 ppb of mercury
at one setting on one day with the Aluminum as a catalyst taking in consideration the synergy effect of the two salts mixed exacerbating the toxic effect by 10
fold. Then take into account the children with very low glutathione that do not efficiently excrete mercury
will PRODUCE but do keep in mind that 200 ppb is EPA
standard for Liquid Toxic Waste.
You see, Free speaker you do not answer any of the toxin info, the question could have been asked by
anyone. But I used Dr.Haley, because he was at the IOM
meeting where Mr. Hivid said we removed Thimerosal and the Autism kept rising. Dr. Haley stood up and and said that is impossible, you are telling me you removed a neurotoxin from vaccines and nurotoxic effect kept going up, that is not possible.
Again please answer the question below.
If there was a protecting effect from Thimerosal
for Autism then why have the country’s that removed
it? have not as of yet reinstated it.
Free speaker What is it that you do not understand about someone that had said the US VSD studies were in fact useless, but they were an improvement over the two Denmark studies. Let me help you out USELESS US VSD STUDIES (worse than) USELESS DENMARK AKA FRAUD!
You did not mention any of the sources about the Presidents involvement, or the IOM FRAUD!
ccdaddy wrote: “Then take into account the children with very low glutathione that do not efficiently excrete mercury will PRODUCE but do keep in mind that 200 ppb is EPA standard for Liquid Toxic Waste.”
The EPA drinking water standards assume that people drink water every day. If children received a liter of vaccines every day, day after day, then the 200 ppb standard would have some meaning.
When talking about vaccines, what’s important is total volume, not concentration.
Here’s a thought exercise for you: Imagine you have two containers of water labeled A and B.
A is one liter H2O with 1 ppm of hg.
B is 20 liters H2O with 10 ppm of hg.
Which is more “toxic” - a tablespoon of A, or a tablespoon of B?
Joey, your words are between the quote marks ” “.
“The Denmark source was a letter from a woman that was on the study in Denmark. She sent the letter to the CDC, so again you are wrong. The letter was obtained through the FOIA act from the CDC United States.”
I see, so you credulously accept that one letter from someone whom you do not know, and it blows away a nationwide study. That is based on your inability to accept anything that disagrees with you.
I would need to see the letter, with a verifiable source, before commenting further. I have already read and discussed, at great length, the Denmark study. I’ll even review my notes.
“I’m still waiting, on what will 32,500 ppb of mercury”
Joey, when you say “ppb” you are discussing a concentration, not an absolute amount. Let’s examine this, though. An average vaccination injection is 0.5 cc, which is the same as 0.02 ounces. Now injecting that into a 7 pound child, which is 5600 times by weight, of the injection, means that the injection dilutes. It is positively homeopathic!
“at one setting on one day with the Aluminum as a catalyst taking in consideration the synergy effect of the two salts mixed exacerbating the toxic effect by 10
fold.”
I would like to see a citation of this to show that there is any form of interaction between Thimerosal and the Aluminum compound. Something verifiable, from a non-anti-vax website. BTW, Aluminum is NOT a catalyst. It’s purpose is to make the antigen response more robust (thus conveying a greater level of immunity).
“Then take into account the children with very low glutathione that do not efficiently excrete mercury
will PRODUCE but do keep in mind that 200 ppb is EPA
standard for Liquid Toxic Waste.”
Not all compounds of any metal are equally chemically active or toxic.
“You see, Free speaker you do not answer any of the toxin info,”
But I have. However, you have not understood my points. I will try to keep it simple. Did you pass high school chemistry? Did you TAKE high school chemistry?
“the question could have been asked by anyone. But I used Dr.Haley,”
I also use Haley. Like I pointed out, which you did not understand or address, he has some credibility problems. That is why I use him as a bad example.
“because he was at the IOM meeting where Mr. Hivid said we removed Thimerosal and the Autism kept rising.”
Well, it did. I know it is hard to accept, but, prior to removal, the CDDS statistics were the numero uno source of the anti-vax liars’ claims that there is an epidemic. After the removal, when the people in California actually did a study of the records they keep, and found that there were more and more cases of autism, the same people moved the goal posts, and moved them again. Davey Kriby even mentioned that the mercury from cremations in China also contributed.
“Dr. Haley stood up and and said that is impossible, you are telling me you removed a neurotoxin from vaccines and nurotoxic effect kept going up, that is not possible.”
That is a wonderful statement, as it is a classic of pure circular reasoning. I would expect nothing more from Haley.
“If there was a protecting effect from Thimerosal
for Autism then why have the country’s that removed
it? have not as of yet reinstated it.”
Well first off, I do not know if there is a protective effect. I have seen some suggestions in various studies, but, no clear proof. On this one, the jury is still out to lunch.
As for why Thimerosal has not been re-introduced, there are two reasons, one medical, one political.
First, the medical. Thimerosal was originally used in multi-dose vials to prevent cross contamination when more than one needle was inserted to extract a dose. Vaccines are now shipped, in the US, in single dose vials, thus obviating the need for concern about corss contamination. In the third world, where mass vaccination programs still rely on multidose vials, it is a must.
As for the political one…Thimerosal was originally removed because public health types became concerned that the fear of Autism being spread by anti-vax liars would cause a decrease in vaccine uptake, thus affecting herd immunity. This would seriously impact many children, like those too young for various vaccines and those with compromised immune systems, just to name two groups. Since the vaccines are available in single dose vials, there was no need to re-introduce it, and give the anti-vax liars more fodder to bleat and bray about.
“Free speaker What is it that you do not understand about someone that had said the US VSD studies were in fact useless, but they were an improvement over the two Denmark studies. Let me help you out USELESS US VSD STUDIES (worse than) USELESS DENMARK AKA FRAUD!”
What I do not understand is how our education system has totally failed and produced people, such as yourself, who credulously accept every wild and wacko conspiracy theory.
I amtruly sorry that so many people have lied to you, and those are the people I call the Al Quaeda of Autism.
“You did not mention any of the sources about the Presidents involvement, or the IOM FRAUD!”
Gee whiz. I thought I was allowed to skip at least one or two conspiracy yarns, like they do in school tests these days.
BTW, do you also deny that Al Quaeda was behind 9/11?
“at one setting on one day with the Aluminum as a catalyst taking in consideration the synergy effect of the two salts mixed exacerbating the toxic effect by 10
fold.”
ccdaddy, didn’t you once write that the mixture of alumin. and hg in your son’s vaccine caused a fist-sized knot at the injection site that was hot to the touch? If that was true, then why don’t the two chemicals react the same way at the vaccine factory, when they are mixed? Why isn’t the syringe hot to the touch?

00.2 ppb is EPA considered safe for drinking water ’ not 200 ppb
200 ppb is EPA standard for
liquid hazardous waste that is a fact!
What you do not get, is they were saying
at the simpsonwood meeting this was not daily doses this was BOLUS doses all at one time. Hence 9 vacc. in one day 7 of
which contained the mercury 32,500 ppb
of a neurotoxin that the NIH paid study
by Thomas Burbacher found to be over twice as toxic as the methyl-mercury
that the CDC says for women to stay away
from. But by all means do get you a flu
vacc.containing A mercury over twice as toxic.
A Japanese study produced the same findings, the author of the study said
the two mercury’s should be considered
the same in toxicity but since it took half as much to do the same damage then he said it should be considered twice as toxic.
you see, this is the kind of logic
that has produced a chronically sick nation. And that in turn has caused health care insurance to be costing
as much as a mortgage of a house.
Pharma drugs for the elderly costing
as much as the food on their table for
a month. And some of them end up eating
dog food to afford to live.
All I can say, is to quote the Bible
There is none so blind as those who
will not see.
Vengeance is mine,
(He then said something very frighting)
I will repay, saith the lord
The Greed of the mainstream medical system and the Big Pharma.company’s
is out of control they are more
dangerous to this nations existence
than the terrorist we are fighting.
Joey, you whined about me not answering your questions, but, alas, you did not bother to read the links I provided. Your understanding of Simpsonwood is, to be kind, pathetic. You have obviously read only third party interpretations from the wacko anti-vac fringe, and have not bothered to read anything else, most likely from fear of having your firmly held beliefs challenged.
And, you quote a bible, “There is none so blind as those who will not see.” That is insight into your problem. Try reading everything, not just things that support your FHBs.
And then you quote further: “Vengance is mine, (He then said something very frighting)I will repay, saith the lord…”
Hey, Bob, now do you see why some people use pseudonyms? To avoid fruit cakes.
freespeaker you again cannot get the truth I tried to convey, you see God said
that to the Christians to let them know It is not their place to take revenge. God tells the Christian to forgive, then he assures them. He will repay, sorry you
misunderstood. You really don’t get it, if we the parents were deranged as you think and dangerous there would be people like Paul Pr-ofitt paying the price for the damage he has caused. Now with that said, you have not heard of any of the child poisoning crazys being touched. So that speaks volumes of the sanity of the parents, you cannot say the same there
is a whole generation of children gone
from the mismanagement of the vaccine
program. This country will never recover
from the tidal wave coming of Autistic
children aging out, that they have managed to destroy. These children will surly break this nation. All in the name of greed and arrogancy. Trillions of dollars, I hope it was worth it.
If it was up to me, I’d appoint Joe as the leader of the vaccine rejectionist movement in America. At least he’s honest enough to admit that he is anti-vaccine.
Joe said: “freespeaker you again cannot get the truth I tried to convey”
Joey, listen, that is YOUR truth. Not necessarily mine. Religion is personal, very personal, and I do not sit in your pew.
“you see God said that to the Christians to let them know It is not their place to take revenge.”
I have a problem with that. You see, I look at history and seen Christians in the forefront of the Crusades, behind every pogrom, as leaders of the Inquisition, and as the perpetrators of the Holocaust. What you say does not jive with history.
“God tells the Christian to forgive, then he assures them. He will repay, sorry you misunderstood.”
Oh, I understood just fine.
“You really don’t get it, if we the parents were deranged as you think”
Well, I see that you are still chomping away on that bucket of red herring. I never said that “the parents” were anything. I do say that the “leadership” has taken the parent’s natural shock and disappointment over having a child who has a disability, and have bamboozled them into believing that vaccines caused that. I do not consider them deranged, just lied to and desperate to get themselves out of the predicament they perceive.
“and dangerous there would be people like Paul Pr-ofitt paying the price for the damage he has caused”
What damage would that be? You mean a man who developed a vaccine that has literally saved tens of thousands of children, prevents even more hospitalizations, is a bad man? I expect that Dr. Offit (do learn how to spell his name correctly) is standing at the Pearly Gates, he will be ushered right in for his contributions.
“Now with that said, you have not heard of any of the child poisoning crazys being touched”
Child poisoning crazys? If you mean doctors who fully understand the science behind vaccinations, then you overdosed on the anti-vaccination kool aid.
Actually, Dr. Offit has been touched. His family has been threatened. Others have been threatened. I have yet to hear any of the anti-vac liars document anything close to that.
“So that speaks volumes of the sanity of the parents,”
Like I said, I view most of the parents who believe as you do to be victims of those who I call the Al Quaeda of Autism and their ilk.
“you cannot say the same there is a whole generation of children gone from the mismanagement of the vaccine
program.”
They are *gone*? Where did they go?
“This country will never recover from the tidal wave coming of Autistic children aging out, that they have managed to destroy. These children will surly break this nation.”
Somehow, I do not think so. With diagnostic substitution so well documented, it is highly unlikely.
“All in the name of greed and arrogancy. Trillions of dollars, I hope it was worth it.”
Who made the trillions? Wakefield is paid only $270,00 a year.
Dr. Fuchs - What do you think causes autism?
G.N., MD-PhD, you said, “…the science itself has advanced to the point where a layman is simply incapable of grasping the complexity we’ve uncovered.”
Now it is true that science has advanced. It has gone from the view of Aristotle (born 322 BC) as a world of rationalizing observations to comport with one’s philosophy to the view of Galileo (born 1564) as a world of hypothesis, observation, quantification, and replication (using powerful tools that include mathematics, statistics, physics, and chemistry).
But quite to the contrary G.N., the general scientific approach of the medical community has regressed to the pre-medieval period of Aristotle. For instance, ignoring parents’ redundant and replicated observations of adverse reactions after their children’s vaccinations FAILS the scientific method.
And the Hippocratic Oath FIRST DO NO HARM, attributed by some to Hippocrates (born 460 BC), seems to be lost as well on the general medical community regarding their callous acceptance of the lack of safety testing for vaccines used on children and pregnant women. For instance, the use of neurotoxic chemicals in vaccines, such as mercury that exceeds USEPA levels for hazardous waste, FAILS the Oath.
Finally, every layperson can grasp the general medical community’s dawdling reaction to the observation that twenty five thousand to forty thousand more kids each year are diagnosed with autism (depending on the autism rate of 1/150 or 1/100). And every layperson can grasp clearly that this is an epidemic and that doctors, like Dr. Wakefield, that care enough to investigate using the scientific method are very few indeed.
Autism News Beat, you wrote:
“When talking about vaccines, what’s important is total volume, not concentration.”
This is not correct.
Mercury exposure DOSE and TIME are both important. For instance the USEPA standard (RFd) for a mercury dietary intake of one tenth of a microgram per kilogram of body weight PER DAY is exceeded such that a child, receiving a single flu shot with thimerosal containing 25 micrograms of mercury, would have to weigh 550 pounds to NOT exceed the USEPA Rfd.
And mercury ACCUMULATION in the brain is important. Burbacher et al demonstrated that injecting vaccines containing thimerosal causes the mercury in the infant monkey brain to ADD UP OVER TIME. Mercury bio-accumulates.
And mercury is a neurotoxin. It kills brain cells.
And finally, the 25 micrograms of mercury in a flu shot with thimerosal has the same dose of mercury found in a half cup of mercury hazardous waste. And NO ONE should give a child or pregnant woman the equivalent of a half cup of mercury hazardous waste.
“Finally, every layperson can grasp the general medical community’s dawdling reaction to the observation that twenty five thousand to forty thousand more kids each year are diagnosed with autism (depending on the autism rate of 1/150 or 1/100). And every layperson can grasp clearly that this is an epidemic and that doctors, like Dr. Wakefield, that care enough to investigate using the scientific method are very few indeed.”
Firstly, let’s get one thing out of the way..Wakefield did not use the scientific method in the recently retracted study. He was fully aware that he was relying on useless lab results, as well documented by the testimony in the Autism Omnibus hearings, and proceeded full steam ahead with his garbage, which has never been replicated.
Second, NOT every lay person can grasp what you claim, since there are serious questions as to whether there is a true epidemic or not. Intelligent lay persons consider diagnostic substitution, broadening of the diagnostic criteria, realization that Autism is a spectrum disorder, and heightened awareness as being very substantial contributing factors in the apparent increase.
I see that the “EPA Limit Canard” has been played. It is, of course, utterly bogus. I suggest reading:
http://www.autismstreet.org/weblog/?p=369#more-369
for a very detailed explanation of why.
“Isn’t all this sort of thing worth serious investigation? Or should we not ‘go there’ because any criticism of the vax schedule will hurt the overriding cause of herd immunity??”
Excellent false dichotomy Stan.
It might be worth investigation if Signh et al. were not apparently based on flawed methodology and in-house assays, and if it were independently reproducible with validated methods. Readers can find out more about this at http://tinyurl.com/yd3h3vl
The addition of a “poor-excretor leading to autism” hypothesis simply adds to the speculative nature of the inquiry.
No, it’s not that we shouldn’t go there “because of fear of criticizing vaccination” - we shouldn’t go there because it’s scientifically unsupported. Research efforts, money, etc. are probably better focused elsewhere. I realize that this is a difficult position to the thousands who cling to the failed “MMR causes autism” hypothesis.
Free Speaker, look at http://www.epa.gov/iris/subst/0073.htm .
One cannot ignore the USEPA Rfd threshold of one tenth of a microgram of mercury per kilogram of body weight PER DAY. It is based on the assumption that “thresholds exist for certain toxic effects such as cellular necrosis.”
So clearly dose per day is important.
Consider for example that the table salt Reference Nutrient Intake in the UK is 4 grams per day for an adult.
But 90 days worth of table salt taken all in one day is fatal. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt#Recommended_intake and http://msds.chem.ox.ac.uk/SO/sodium_chloride.html / .
Also consider the FDA recommendation of lead in candy for children of a maximum level of one tenth of one part per million. See http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/GuidanceDocuments/ChemicalContaminantsandPesticides/ucm077904.htm .
The flu shot with Thimerosal has 50 parts per million mercury
“One cannot ignore the USEPA Rfd threshold of one tenth of a microgram of mercury per kilogram of body weight PER DAY.
Jim, you need to actually read the EPA documentation if you want to know what you’re talking about (which you don’t).
Not that it’s relevant to Autism or the MMR (it’s not), but the EPA RfD is clearly defined as a daily dose of methylmercury (like from seafood) over a lifetime. It’s an evidenced-based guideline designed for other agencies to produce seafood consumption guidance, and describes a reasonable expectation of safety - even for sensitive subgroups.
In case you weren’t aware, no vaccines contain methymercury, and they are not given daily over a lifetime.
Sorry, Ms. Conrick, I’d missed your previous response.
Do’C -
I am asking Dr. Fuchs to talk about science here.
Your stated premise clearly included “or esle is told what to say here”.
Also, I would like to see what he thinks after reading these studies-
“Balzola F et al . “Autistic enterocolitis: confirmation of a new inflammatory bowel disease in an Italian cohort of patients.” Gastroenterology 2005;128(Suppl. 2);A-303.”
“Balzola, F., et al., “Panenteric IBD-like disease in a patient with regressive autism shown for the first time by wireless capsule enteroscopy: Another piece in the jig-saw of the gut-brain syndrome?” American Journal of Gastroenterology, 2005. 100(4): p. 979- 981.”
What “studies”?
The first Balzola F et al. looks like a meeting abstract from Digestive Disease week back in 2005. I’m not sure why an apparent conference presentation (instead of an actual peer-reviewed, published study) would be cited, but I’m guessing a meeting abstract from 2005 isn’t going to be to helpful to Dr. Fuchs if you’d like him to comment on the science, as you state.
http://tinyurl.com/ya6rp6e
The second Balzola F et al. is a case report of a single 28 year-old autistic man. Perhaps this will confirm for Dr. Fuchs that there are in fact autistic adults.
http://tinyurl.com/yhcr2p5
Who ever said this,“The addition of a “poor-excretor leading to autism” hypothesis simply
adds to the speculative nature of the inquiry.
No, it’s not that we shouldn’t go there “because of fear of criticizing
vaccination” - we shouldn’t go there because it’s scientifically
unsupported”
Needs to look at the history on a subset of children appears that handle mercury differently. The head of the NICHD
Dr. Alexander of the NIH said the other day vaccine research to find if a subset group of children handles vaccines differently must be done! here’s where their missing it. It has already been done,we can glean from the history of pinks disease. This is all the proof we need, to prove that question has already been answered.
In these next lines. ( My thoughts replace mercury with Thimerosal and disease with Autism ) and you now have today’s man made disaster, using yesteryears headlines. In the UK it was reported this week 1 in 48 boys now have some sort of AUTISM all because we did not learn from history! And like the old saying goes ( those that do not learn from history, are destined to repeat history )
This is from history, where they used mercury in teething powders and the damage that followed is very familar
YOU ALL NEED TO READ THIS BELOW!
It seems your statement is BS!
“Clearly, if mercury was responsible for the disease, it could not be
simple poisoning, or all exposed children would suffer in a dose related
manner; the children who became ill must be excessively sensitive to the
poison (idiosyncrasy). In fact, only 1 in 500 children exposed to the teething
powders developed the disease”
We also can learn from today, that with the increased vaccine schedule we have a timeline of more children falling into the subset that can’t get rid of the metals and toxins. It seems everyone has a toxic tipping point, (and it appears to be different for indeviguals).
and according to history always has when you reach it, you get on the slippery slide to ADD, ADHD, Speech
Delay, or the big A ( Autism )
So the vaccine program started to save our kids, is now destroying our kids. YOU IDOITS! The children are paying for your stupidity and arrogance. Also the tax payers are paying the bill for the damage of the Pharma co. dangerous vaccines.
I have given many examples of the agency’s of the CDC and the FDA, also
the all so dangerous AAP that prove
they cannot be trusted on any new research. Because they have been caught manipulating the data And this statement, is the intent of their heart. And I assure you it was not the welfare of our American children. “We can alter the exclusion criteria any way we want, give reasonable justifications for doing so, and get any result we want” We can push and pull this data anyway we want to get the results we want”
Now is this the CDC’s idea of real, quality Science!!!!
One of the few physicians in Congress, Rep. Dave Weldon, R-Fla., immediately saw the problems associated with the CDC study and notified CDC Director Julie Gerberding.
“I have serious reservations about the four-year evolution and conclusions of this study,” Weldon wrote. “A review of these documents leaves me very concerned that rather than seeking to understand whether or not some children were exposed to harmful levels of mercury in childhood vaccines in the 1990s, there may have been a selective use of the data to make the associations in the earliest study disappear.”
Weldon’s letter to Gerberding goes on to observe that “the first version of the study, produced in February 2000, found a significant association between exposure to thimerosal-containing vaccines and autism and neurological developmental delays. A June 2000 version of the study applied various data manipulations to reduce the autism association to 1.69, and the authors went outside the VSD [Vaccine Safety Datalink] database to secure data from a Massachusetts HMO [Harvard Pilgrim] in order to counter the association found between TCVs and speech delays.” Clear enough.
The Florida lawmaker, who is a staunch supporter of immunization, tells Insight, “I don’t know what’s going on. It’s a pretty lame study to begin with. The way they’ve done it is they got some findings and started adding more numbers to the denominator – it’s kind of a strange protocol they followed. Then there are all these quotes from the researchers from other documents about how you can add numbers and stratify things and get any outcome you want. Then you consider that the lead author is working for a drug company, didn’t disclose this fact and also that it is one of the drug companies being sued over this mercury issue. I’m just very concerned that we’re not going to get answers as long as there are careers at stake. You know there are people at the CDC who have been involved in the vaccine program who didn’t recognize the amount of mercury they were giving kids, and now they’re in the process of investigating themselves. Meanwhile a lot of these investigators bounce to and from the drug companies. I think it all is very, very murky and very suspicious.”
Weldon summarizes: “The CDC produced an article by Dr. Verstraeten, published on Nov. 3 in Pediatrics. Dr. Verstraeten is a former CDC employee. Since 2001 he has worked for GlaxoSmithKline – a vaccine manufacturer. While working for the CDC in 2000, the first version of Dr. Verstraeten’s unpublished study found an association between higher thimerosal exposures and neurodevelopment disorders, including autism. Between 2000 and 2003, Dr. Verstraeten and coauthors manipulated and stratified the data so much that each of these associations magically disappeared. I don’t know if it was deliberate, but that is nonetheless what happened. This study has done nothing in my mind to put these concerns to rest, but only serves to raise suspicions.”
This veteran member of Congress puts it plainly: “We’re not going to get answers to these questions until Congress or some outside group starts poring through this information. But it’s very coincidental that they added the hepatitis vaccine, the HiB vaccine and the chicken-pox vaccine – they added all these additional childhood vaccines around the time when the autism rate started to skyrocket. Then when you actually sit down and do the calculations, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, they were giving these kids very toxic levels of mercury. I mean as a 150- to 200-pound adult the EPA says you’re not supposed to take in more than one microgram per day. They were taking little seven- and 10-pound babies and pumping 50 and 75 micrograms of mercury into them in one shot. That’s like giving an adult 1,000 micrograms. And, on top of that, the World Health Organization says mercury is 10 times more toxic in children than it is in adults. It’s horrifying.”
Since then the VSD data was found to be useless by the NIH in a congressional
report that even the CDC Dir.Gerberding concurred. This was after she the Dir. had maintained, that the VSD was of very good high quality research that she had maintained was robust for years.
She the Dir. of the CDC said that any further use of the VSD looking at Autism
and vaccines would be misleading.
So I guess you could say, that either
the Dir. of the CDC was a world class incompatant(borderline stupidity).By not knowing by her own admission, that the research That the CDC relied on for the determination that vaccines have not caused Autism. Was fatally flawed or the Dir. of the CDC was heavly involved in
a criminal cover up of the mass poisoning of American children. And we have just learned that the CDC Dr.Gerberding waited 1 year to go to work for Merck, officially that is. Now for a real Laugh, she is the head of vaccine safety.
This statement, was written wrong sorry!
Needs to look at the history on a
subset of children, that appeared to
handle mercury differently.
Hi Joe,
Other than your concluding assertion of criminal conspiracy, was there a cogent point in there somewhere?
My point, that you appear to have attempted to respond to, is that the “poor mercury excretors leading to autism” hypothesis is not scientifically supported - at all.
If you have good science (with actual citations), that demonstrate that I’m incorrect, feel free to provide it. Quoting politicians and advancing conspiracy theory will detract from any appearance of a clue you may have, so please stick to the science.
A lot of the children with autism have
very low glutathione, like my son.
If the the mainstream medical
community was not so afraid,
the the truth would come out.
The AAP ped’s are afraid of the law suites for the damage that vaccines
have caused.
Most in the medical field are afraid
that they will lose their jobs because
of a very corrupt and arrogant FDA and CDC that owe their lively hoods to the same Big Pharma co’s that pay some of
you to man these articles as paid pharma schills.
Again, here is the proof from history
on a subset group that probably had
low glutathione like our kids of today
“Clearly, if mercury was responsible for the disease, it could not be simple poisoning, or all exposed children would suffer in a dose related manner; the children who became ill must be excessively sensitive to the
poison (idiosyncrasy). In fact, only 1 in 500 children exposed to the teething
powders developed the disease”
(Also from history on this subset)
The resistance to the evidence of mercury poisoning is typical of resistance to new
medical knowledge and declined only when the opponents and sceptics grew old and disappeared from the scene. Meanwhile, the cause having been identified and accepted, pink disease disappeared
There you have it readers, straight from history!
It doe’s appear that the corruption of the medical community started long ago, before Big Pharma grabbed America by the throat. It is very apparent though, that the flames of corruption are being fanned by the greed of big Pharmas need to take
over the vaccine program. All for the guaranteed billions for every vaccine they can muscle into the already bloated vaccine schedule. Had I only known I would not have a 19 yr old in diapers.
For they would not have stuck my son with these witches brews they call vaccines.
DoC You said
If you have good science (with actual citations), that demonstrate that I’m incorrect, feel free to provide it. Quoting politicians and advancing conspiracy theory will detract from any appearance of a clue you may have, so please stick to the science.
No!,I tried to show you that the Dir.
of the CDC admitting, the VSD large populous studies were misleading. Left you with nothing, Deal with it! I make my head way by showing the utter stupidly and arrogance of the people we trusted in vaccine safety. And the so apparent deceit of the Dir. of the CDC claiming that the Vaccine Safety Data Base used to declare vaccines safe. Was in her own words MISLEADING. Sorry, but this kind of world class incompetence is unacceptable when it comes to the safety of little children. That are trusting the parents to insure the vaccines they receive are indeed safe. You see pharma shills you
cannot fight truth, and parents relentless persuit to find what happened after vaccines. That stole their normal childs
life.
We the parents do not trust the CDC FDA or AAP they have absolutely no! credibility left. Also we parents sure do not trust you pharma shills. And I think the readers can see who is trying to keep poison out of the children.
And those who apparently don’t seem to care. If vaccines are safe or not!
Three posts, and no science. “FAIL”
Sorry Joe.
“You pharma shills”?
Man, you are lost. Good luck to you Joe, I have a feeling you may need it.
Joe, I just realized that I do have another question. Hypotheticially speaking, let us assume that somehow or the other, science does prove that vaccines cause autism (that the earth is flat and the sun is the center of the cosmos). OK? How would that make life better for the children already diagnosed as being autistic? Will it miraculously make them un-autistic?
Joe, I just realized that I do have another question. Hypotheticially speaking, let us assume that somehow or the other, science does prove that vaccines cause autism (that the earth is flat and the sun is the center of the cosmos). OK? How would that make life better for the children already diagnosed as being autistic? Will it miraculously make them un-autistic?
If that happens, the real research will
finally be done.
Also the vaccine compensation fund that was meant for the children, will finally go to the children. After all we spent $40,000 just in diapers, four couches and
three chairs. One love seat three ottomans, three dining tables and chairs four beds. Including one metal pipe bed, he also broke the door off of our oven We had to buy a new oven.He chewed up 100 barbies noses feet and hands. Also he chewed the hard plastic tires off of 100 + hot wheels,he broke the water pipes under the house, kicking it. He destroyed nine interior doors, and I cannot tell you how many electronics he destroyed. All the glass windows has been replaced with half inch plexiglass, because he broke all of them out. Oh! I left out the living
room entertainment center, and the computer hutch also a very nice pine book case he chewed to peices and fifteen sets of blinds my daughters $500.00 pair of glasses one week old, he broke in eight pieces. And that is just some of what he has broken or totally destroyed.
Hey! one question for you, if it is found
that vaccines are to blame. Do you think
the vaccine compensation fund should pay for these kids?
This is the criminals the GMC that tried to destroy Dr.Wakefeild.
UK General Medical Council Told Docs “Commit Fraud for MMR Vaccine Bonuses” - February 13, 2010
The UK’s General Medical Council issued formal written advice to UK medical doctors to commit fraud on the UK’s National Health Service for personal financial gain.
If UK doctors met target levels for vaccinations they qualified for bonus payments. One way of claiming was to make a false return. The GMC’s advice was for doctors to file false returns of the numbers of patients who had received the MMR vaccine. Doctors were advised to take unvaccinated child patients off the patient list temporarily to claim the bonuses but also to ensure the parent agreed, [thereby implicating parents in the fraud].
My thoughts are that there is nothing but
Total corruption of most, that is involved in the safety of childrens vaccines.
“Hey! one question for you, if it is found that vaccines are to blame…”
Joe, in all seriousness, didn’t anybody tell you that the Omnibus Autism Proceedings failed to deliver any decent science to support the claim? The PSC put forward their “best” cases as test cases, and the rulings were pretty damning for the petitioners’ “experts”, involved scientists, and speculative hypotheses.
The first couple of appeals have already failed too, as far as I understand it.
It doesn’t seem surprising that the court has already posted instructions for leaving the program.
If a small subset of parents move on to civil suits, and are unsuccessful, guess who pays the attorney fees?
Another question, if we are finding
that this is environmental along with genetics. Why is there no move to research how to remove the oxidative stress in these children’s body’s? You see, that is what OSR is. One Dr. attempt to help the children, while the CDC AAP FDA and the IACC and NIH is scratching their heads and other parts of their body’s. And then still wondering if there has been an increase in Autism or not, and repeating their tired old mantra “Autism” is a mysterious disorder with no known cause or cure. I hope the readers have figured out, that we would be better off asking for help from a box of rocks. True they would be of no help, but they would not be trying at every turn, to poison our children. Like the alphabet agencies have.
How can the Special master Hastings
of the omnibus say, that we had no
choice but to rule the way we did
because the science was so overwhelming against the parents.
Again I say WHAT SCIENCE?????
I have proved that the CDC Dir. Gerberding was misleading the
public. By her concurring to the
congressional report on the large population based studies in the VSD,
and that they were in fact useless an misleading her words were “any future use of the VSD looking at Vaccines and Autism would be misleading"like I said, was she misleading us all these years on purpose?
Also the IOM used those studies
to declare the vaccines safe,with
no link to the vaccines and Autism
Mr.Hastings used the IOM report
in his decision to rule against the
parents.
I showed the IOM was pressured by
the CDC to deceive the public.
And that the IOM used the excuse
the public would stop vaccinating
so they felt justified when they
bowed to the CDC pressure and decided
to deceive the public. One would think you do
not understand what you are reading,or that
you do not want to believe what you are reading.
The Denmark study was also used by
the special master Hastings, to rule
against the parents
And I proved the Denmark study was fraud
in all aspects.
As the head of the panel said, that was
ordered to look at the vaccine and Autism
science the CDC had in the VSD. Dr. Irva Hertz-Picciotto,
said something that makes the Special master Hastings
look like a deceiver. and totally corrupt Dr. Picciotto said
that leaves the cdc with very little to say that vaccines and
Autism are not associated in anyway.
Well that’s not what were hearing from the
not so Special master Hastings.
Seems he is either very corrupt or is very misinformed.
Either way this kind of behavior is not what one might expect,
from a supposedly fair vaccine compensation program.
They the CDC had one witness that had to bow out because he had written
a paper saying just the opposite years earlier, of what the corrupt NVICP was
asking of him.
Byron child magazine heard that the contract between the CDC and the IOM
contained the orders to not find causation,so they asked to see the
contract. Curtis Allen spokes person for the CDC said, that the contract is only
available in heavily eradicated and blacked out format.
When you remove the IOM report, and the
VSD large population based studies and
the Denmark studies. What doe’s he have left???That he could have made such a bold statement of non facts.
Once again they have no science,NONE!
My daughters reading and comprehension skills according to her school that has had her tested, said that she is off the charts in reading and comprehension.
She did a report on how unsafe vaccines were, she got an A and complements from her teacher on how through her report was
She can see the deceit here, and you can’t that should concern the readers why you can’t.
How can the Special master Hastings of the omnibus say, that we had no choice but to rule the way we did because the science was so overwhelming against the parents.[?]
He explained this in considerable detail in his written decision. You’ll have to read all 183 pages (and the related papers, testimony, and other cases) if you don’t want to remain ignorant of the reasons for the conclusion.
Of note: he also considered the evidence of the other two test cases (in order to give his case the benefit of all the available evidence).

ME (Earlier): Joe, I just realized that I do have another question. Hypotheticially speaking, let us assume that somehow or the other, science does prove that vaccines cause autism (that the earth is flat and the sun is the center of the cosmos). OK? How would that make life better for the children already diagnosed as being autistic? Will it miraculously make them un-autistic?
JOE: If that happens, the real research will finally be done.
ME: I see, so only research that proves that there is a link between vaccines and autism is “real research”. Interesting manner of “thinking”.
JOE: Also the vaccine compensation fund that was meant for the children, will finally go to the children.”
ME: I thought that the fund was being paid to those children who qualify either by having a table disability or through litigation.
JOE: After all we spent $40,000 just in diapers, four couches and three chairs. One love seat three ottomans, three dining tables and chairs four beds. Including one metal pipe bed, he also broke the door off of our oven. We had to buy a new oven.He chewed up 100 barbies noses feet and hands.

ME: I see. Having an autistic child can be a financial burden. We have had some very heavy expenses, like installing ramp entrances, interior elevators, etc.
JOE: Hey! one question for you, if it is found that vaccines are to blame. Do you think the vaccine compensation fund should pay for these kids?
ME: Surely, since that is what the VICP was meant for. Further, I believe that the medicaid waiver program, like we have in NY, should be extended to ensure that the parents are not bankrupted by having a special child.
My problem with your response to my question, i.e., and I quote myself (a brilliant idea!), “How would that make life better for the *****children***** already diagnosed as being autistic?(emphasis added)”
You see, Joe, you did not answer the question. I asked how, it would make it better FOR THE CHILDREN, if it is found that vaccines, hypothetically speaking, do cause autism. You explained how expensive it is to have an autistic child, and how much YOU have to spend, but not how it would MAKE IT BETTER FOR THE CHILDREN.
You see, I think it is an utter waste of money to pursue a vaccines cause autism myth, and would prefer to see the money placed where it could help BOTH the children and the families.
For example, and reading between the lines, I think you could benefit from being hooked up with a good respite program, so you can step back and regroup. Sadly, funds for respite are scarce, at best, and families such as yours and mine cannot get any time off.
That is where the money should go. Not wasting it on “research” that will NOT make one wit of difference in the day to day life of the children.
Joe, conspiracy theory does not replace science. As Do’C said, read the Autism Omnibus decisions, reports and testimony. ALL the answers are there. Note that the history of Wakefield’s utter dishonesty, is also well documented. If you read everyting, you will see that Wakefield was told that the tests he used to diagnose that new disorder, “Measles in the Gut” were false positives, thus totally unreliable, and he went ahead anyway, hiding that information from his colleagues.
You should also try to understand that Wakefield had a patent for a “transfer factor” that would prevent measles. However, the market was miniscule, since the MMR was safe and effective, so he had to do something to undermine public confidence in the MMR, which he did, to increase the market, and MAKE MORE MONEY.
Please do some reading on these issues, and you will see that it is you who needs to open your mind.
One more comment. Joe, you are extraordinarily angry. Such anger is not healthy. I hope you see this, and get help dealing with your anger. You and your whole family will benefit.
DoC we are talking about a corrupt person, that is doing the bidding of the Pharma co’s You have not answered any of the facts I delivered. And I assure you the readers have noticed that you pick what you can answer, and run from the rest.
You have not showed any compassion, for the hell that me and my family are going through, the old tired mantra doe’s not fit this child doe’s it DoC. You know, the why would you try to cure something that is just another way of thinking mantra. Or the we should be celebrating Autism mantra that a person from the CDC was mouthing.
DoC should we be celebrating the children beating their own selves up or maybe the little girl that a Dr. at children’s Hosp. told me about, she was digging ruts in her face with her nails, Should we celebrate that DoC? You people make me sick, that have no idea what a bad case of Autism like symptoms is. Just show them the servants, and we will get away with the greatest medical screw up of all time
right DoC.
Answer my questions, or go and crawl back under that rock you came from.
The questions
When you remove the IOM report, and the
VSD large population based studies and
the Denmark studies. What doe’s he have left???That he could have made such a bold statement of non fact.
Hi Joe,
You lost me at:
“DoC we are talking about a corrupt person, that is doing the bidding of the Pharma co’s
I pretty much stop reading any comments that start into conspiracy nonsense, regardless of who’s written them.
If you ever want to discuss actual autism issues, or actual science, let me know.
Notice readers, he want answer the questions because he can’t.
Again if the IOM was ordered not to find causation,and the IOM did what they were told to do. And we know they did,because of the minutes of the meeting. They said;
“We’ve got a dragon by the tail here,” states a committee member in the
transcript. “At the end of the line, what we know is - and I agree - that
the more negative that presentation [the report] is, the less likely people
are to use vaccination, immunization, and we know what the results of that will be.
We are kind of caught in a trap. How we work our way out of
the trap, I think, is the charge.”
Also
When byronchild asked CDC spokesperson Curtis Allen for a copy of the
contract that would detail the agreement between the IOM and the CDC,
Allen
stated that the contract would be available only in a heavily
“redacted” or blacked-out format.
The IOM stated “no comment” to byronchild about the leaked transcript
or its use in the pending civil court case.
1st If you find no causation because of the overwhelming science,as the IOM said they did. Then how could you be caught in a trap? Surly DoC you could come up the answer to that.
With that said, why do you have to work your self out of something you are not in? example; The IOM’s own words; We are kind of caught in a trap. How we work our way out of the trap, I think, is the charge.” Again for the evidently slow DoC
and freespeaker If you find with a good conscience, looking at the science no causation. How are you caught in a trap?
You can’t be!
Then the IOM report,is null and void and should not have been used against the parents. Like I said the NVICP is showing
every sign of being a CORRUPT agency.
Again if the Dir. of the CDC has for years maintained that the VSD is of well designed good quality studies. But now
she the Dir.is admitting that the VSD is misleading the public DoC May I remind you that the Big population based studies were done in the VSD and that is what the
special master Hastings used to make his
decision on the test cases.
The two Denmark studies is the worse of all the studies, that is not me talking.
That is the head of the panel, that was
ordered by the NIH that was in turn ordered by the house appropriations
commetee to look at the Science that
the CDC was using to rule out a link
to the vaccines / Autism controversy
the head of the panel made this statement
And I believe that statement should put the special master Hastings in prison for committing fraud for lying to the public.
The statement;” Dr. Irva Hertz-Picciotto,
Professor of Public Health at UC Davis Medical School and Chair of the NIEHS
panel, told reporter Dan Olmsted at UPI.That leaves very little for the CDC
to go on in terms of proving that thimerosal and autism are not associated
in any way. It doe’s appear that the special master Hastings is confused in
who had the,in their words Overwhelming evidence.
Notice readers, he want answer the questions because he can’t.
It’s true, readers. I cannot answer questions I have not read. I do not read through diatribes, conspiracy theorist rants, or otherwise large passages of utter irrelevancy in order to filter out rambling questions that are likely to contain more commentary than actual question.
Joe, seriously, if you want to discuss actual autism issues, or actual science, I’m game. If you have a question you feel is important, buried within your text that I didn’t read, go ahead and ask it.
Please be concise (try to stick to one sentence that ends with a question mark per question).
Please be specific (try to stick to one topic per question).
There is one unifying factor affecting children, from sea to shining sea. It’s not genetics; genetics between families are different. It’s not environmental exposures; some kids live in the projects, some live in gated communities. It’s not food; some kids eat only organic, some eat mostly McDonalds. It’s not exercise; some kids are athletes; others are couch potatoes. What touches almost all children and is the most likely ‘smoking gun’ for the epidemic of chronic illness and autism across North America (and beyond), are childhood vaccinations.Dr. Tenpenny
Repeating History
Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis was a Hungarian physician who was among the first to perceive that birth-related deaths due to puerperal fever was caused by doctors who didn’t wash their hands before childbirth. He dared collect and publish data which admonished his peers and indicted the existing Medical System. Despite various publications that demonstrated hand washing reduced birth mortality below one percent, Semmelweis’ practice was ignored by doctors because his observations were in “conflict with established medical opinions.” Thousands of children died as a result of the arrogance of doctors and their unwillingness to change.
The tenacity of Semmelweis is a precedent for how Dr. Wakefield has been treated by the GMC in the United Kingdom. Conventionally trained doctors around the world have added thunderous applause, seemingly incapable of questioning the lies they have been forced to swallow and have believed for two centuries about vaccines.
Sound sort of like this from pinks;
The resistance to the evidence of mercury poisoning is typical of resistance to new
medical knowledge and declined only when the opponents and sceptics grew old and disappeared from the scene. Meanwhile, the cause having been identified and accepted, pink disease disappeared
It seems they have been arrogant, and stupid for quite some time. While the children, have been paying the price!
Dad of Cameron, look at page 2 of http://www.epa.gov/iris/subst/0073.htm .
It says “Maternal daily dietary intake levels were used as the dose surrogate for the observed developmental effects in the children exposed in utero. The daily dietary intake levels were calculated from blood concentrations measured in the mothers with supporting additional values based on their hair concentrations.”
Then look at page 3. It says “The biomarker of choice for the Faroese data was cord blood, and the BMDLs were reported in units of ppb mercury in cord blood. In order to calculate an RfD, it is necessary to convert this figure to an ingested daily amount that would result in exposure to the developing fetus at the BMDL level in terms of ppb mercury in blood.”
This is why the Rfd uses a DAILY LIMIT, NOT a lifetime limit, for a pregnant woman and for a child in order to protect them from neurological effects.
Joe, you have yet to truly answer my question about how finding that mythical link between vaccines and autism would make life better *****FOR THE CHILDREN*****. Please directly address this very important issue. Or, may I assume that you do not have an answer?
It says “Maternal daily dietary intake levels were used as the dose surrogate for the observed developmental effects in the children exposed in utero. The daily dietary intake levels were calculated from blood concentrations measured in the mothers with supporting additional values based on their hair concentrations.”
Yes, it does, and this simply explains that in utero exposure is determined by studying the oral HG intake of the mothers.
Yes, it does. This section this explains how cord blood levels were converted back to an oral RfD that would produce those levels when using data from the Faroe Islands studies and accounting for factors like mercury elimination, body weight, etc.
This is why the Rfd uses a DAILY LIMIT, NOT a lifetime limit, for a pregnant woman and for a child in order to protect them from neurological effects.
What you’ve quoted doesn’t answer a “why?” they answer “how?” things were calculated. I’m not sure how else to explain this to you, so I’ll just leave the actual definition of the RfD provided on page 1 of your citation for you.
“The oral Reference Dose (RfD) is based on the assumption that thresholds exist for certain toxic effects such as cellular necrosis. It is expressed in units of mg/kg-day. In general, the RfD is an estimate (with uncertainty spanning perhaps an order of magnitude) of a daily exposure to the human population (including sensitive subgroups) that is likely to be without an appreciable risk of deleterious effects during a lifetime.”
Vaccines do not contain methylmercury.
Dad of Cameron:
It is very simple. An “appreciable risk of deleterious effects during a lifetime” is avoided by keeping the DAILY EXPOSURE below the recommended levels of one tenth of microgram of mercury per kilogram of body weight.
However, exceeding that daily limit would result in blood levels above safe threshold values. That is precisely why the equation for the Rfd includes such parameters as “elimination constant” and “fraction absorbed by blood.”
So to consider giving a child or pregnant woman the amount of mercury equal to several months or more of the Rfd amount, all in a single day, fails the USEPA guidelines.
It is not any more complicated than that.
Autistic kids need help, but this media sponsered increase in autism? Autism skyrocketing? Higher rates? See the YOU TUBE video: autism spectrum seems out of control and “autism epidemic rooted in abuse and misuse of word ‘autistic’ to get a better understanding of what’s going on pretty shocking
However, exceeding that daily limit would result in blood levels above safe threshold values. That is precisely why the equation for the Rfd includes such parameters as “elimination constant” and “fraction absorbed by blood.”
And that’s where you went wrong. Exceeding that daily exposure <strong>every single day of your life</em> would result in blood levels above safe threshold values (with the built-in uncertainty factor).
The EPA’s RfD is clearly stated. It is not a single day limit. It is a maximum daily exposure over a lifetime.
Vaccines do not contain methylmercury.
Sorry about the broken tags.
And that’s where you went wrong. Exceeding that daily exposure every single day of your life would result in blood levels above safe threshold values (with the built-in uncertainty factor).
Jim the amount of mercury in the 90’s was
astronomical,the mercury apologist here
have no clue! 00.2 ppb is set as the EPA safe level for drinking water. The amount for Liquid Hazardous Waste, from the EPA safe limit is 200 ppb This is what some children got in the 90’s,from(9) vaccines (7)of which contained the Thimerosal “mercury” given on one day at one setting. The Mercury ppb of that(7)Vacc’s
add up to 32,500 ppb How can anyone with a lick of common sense think that amount is safe, and doe’s no HARM????
Before the Mercury apologist here, state that tired old mantra. This is a different kind of Mercury;Let me tell you a story I was watching TV,that week the IOM had made their statement Thimerosal was not
the cause of Autism. I was watching an interview on first coast news. The reporter said, Dr.Cochi are you telling us it’s OK to put mercury in our young baby’s? You could see the shock on his face, that she asked that question. He looked like a deer caught in headlights,
then the lies began. he said “this is a
friendlier gentle kind of mercury, also
we know, that it doesn’t cross the BBB
(Blood Brain Barrier) Boy was this guy misinformed! 1st off, It is on the Manufacturer Safety Data Sheet of the
Vaccine preservative Thimerosal “that it
targets the organs of the body in - particular the Brain and the lining around the Brain” Readers that is the Manufacturer words, not mine. 2nd when
Pichichero claimed his study of about 200 babies and children, who were injected with vaccines containing ethyl mercury (thimerosal), showed that measurable mercury levels in the blood of the children were gone within 3.7 days. This, says Pichichero, is much quicker than the average 44 days it takes for methyl mercury (found in fish) to be undetectable in the blood. Ergo, he says, exposure to thimerosal does not cause brain damage or autism!
Dr.Thomas Burbacher the NIH paid for researcher on primates replies.
“Not so fast”, says Thomsas Brubacher, M.D., a scientist who studies the biological effects of ethyl mercury on primates. “Just because it came out of the blood doesn’t mean it is excreted from the body. It could have gone to the brain. In primates, you actually get more mercury in the brain after exposure to ethyl mercury than with methyl mercury - it has an easier time crossing the blood brain barrier.”
He just said that Thimerosal (Ethyl) crosses the BBB easier than the (methyl)
Here’s another reason, this cannot be true the MSDS of Thimerosal states Thimerosal is accumulative in the body.
So how could the CDC recommend that the pregnant women, should get their flu shot.
But stay away from the fish mercury, we
just learned that Thimerosal crosses the BBB easier than doe’s the fish mercury.
It seems Dr. Cochi was wrong. Also on
the MSDS; pregnant women should not be exposed to thimerosal, for it can cross the placenta and go into the baby and cause mild to severe mental retardation.
So now you have it readers, the way that the CDC and pharma get’s away with the misinformation that caused a generation of sick children is, that most of the public doe’s not know what I just shared with you. They count on you not doing your home work, that is why Dr.Cochi began to lie to the public, he was counting on you the public not knowing any different.
Personally I do not like liers having anything to do with vaccine safety.
What DoC doe’s not get,is that the amount the simpsonwood attendees (the FDA, CDC, AAP,and the WHO,) were concerned about. That is also reflected in the minutes, was Bolus doses all at once. And the accumulation over a period of time,
leading to further toxicity issues
and neurological damage.Better known as
ADD, ADHD, Speech Delay, or Autism
Also when you add other metals to the
Thimerosal, because of the synergy effect
of the two salts mixed. You then open up another can of worms of toxicity, worse by 10 x. Another words a toxin becomes a super toxin. That brings us back to that pesky 7 vaccines given on one day, at one setting adding up to 32,500 ppb of toxic mercury when Liquid Hazardous waste EPA
says is 200 ppb. So what they ask is, did the one vaccine (example DPT) cause the damage in this child. Leaving out the major fact that the child in a real world setting, could get as many as 9 vaccines at one time 7 of which may contain Mercury. But all will contain
many other toxins. Including Aluminum
that is in vaccines to cause a heightened immune response, for that is the secret
to vaccines. And why many believe they work. So at best,I have learned with many years of research. that vaccines are a crap shoot. And with all the large increases in chronic diseases in our children, you may have better odds in Las Vegas than you do in your pediatrician office.
Signed Concerned dad, living with the after math.Of the total incompetence of those responsible for vaccine safety.
Good Morning Joe!
Joe, did you read my very heartflet comments to you? If so, when can I expect that you will explain how finding a link between vaccines and autism can benefit the children.
If no, why not? Are you intentionally ignoring the question?
As for Simpsonwood, that is one of the most absurd conspiracy yarns used by anti-vac liars. I posted a link, above, and repeated here, http://tinyurl.com/yj7lqcj that could allow you to read more about Simpsonwood and why it is bull. However, I doubt you will read it. Your mind seems to be closed tight.
Henrysdad has the right idea. Epidemic? Yet to be proven. Better diagnosis? YES! Recognition that autism isa spectrum disorder? YES! Diagnostic substitution? YES! More aggressive evaluation of students? YES! More kids being autistic? The jury is out.
More kids being autistic? The jury is out.
More kids wearing the label “autistic” though? Absolutely. More kids in special ed. than ever before? Nope. California as an example, has been flat at a little less than 9.2% of the population of school-aged children receiving services under an IEP for all disabilities for 11 years straight.
California’s Invisible Autism Epidemic Continues
Leaving out the major fact that the child in a real world setting, could get as many as 9 vaccines at one time 7 of which may contain Mercury.
2000 Schedule
Joe, at the link above, you’ll find the Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule for 2000.
Please show us where a child could get 7 shots that contain mercury “at one time”.
Remember the following vaccines have never contained Thimerosal:
IPV
MMR
Varicella
Also this assumes that there is a left over thimerosal-containing HIB in 2000 (most were actually already thimerosal-free after 1999)
Thimerosal content
“It is a maximum daily exposure over a lifetime.”
The actual wording is “during” a lifetime. See page 2 of the IRIS for methyl mercury.
The USEPA established a baseline daily dose during a lifetime, not a cumulative dose over a lifetime.
The USEPA concern for low-dose methlymercury exposure is long term neurotoxicity, particularly for exposure to the developing brain.
“The adverse effect of methylmercury observed at lowest dose is neurotoxicity, particularly in developing organisms. The brain is considered the most sensitive target organ for which there are data suitable for derivation of an RfD.” See page xi of the USEPA Rfd Background Document.
So based on populations that ate fish daily, a cord blood limit (assumed equal to a maternal blood limit) of 58 ppb [parts per billion] mercury was used to establish daily limits of methylmercury from fish. See page xiii of the USEPA Rfd Background Document.
Thus the USEPA safety numeric criterion is a benchmark to protect against neurotoxicity from daily fish ingestion-especially for children and pregnant women.
But exceeding that methlymercury benchmark on any single day and then averaging that dose over days, weeks, months or years is NOT allowed.
That approach fails to meet the model using daily rates of mercury elimination and blood absorption of mercury.
And that approach fails to meet the USEPA model of daily fish consumption (for instance the USEPA low-dose benchmark does not discuss or consider consumption of three months of fish all in one day).
And that approach fails to keep the parts per billion mercury in maternal blood below the USEPA limit used in the Rfd model on page xiii of the background document (for instance the USEPA does not allow a higher maternal blood level and then average it over several months of zero exposure).
And regarding ethylmercury and methylmercury, they both are neurotoxins and cross the blood brain barrier after intake. Burbacher et al shows that elemental mercury ends up in the infant monkey brain from ethylmercury exposure. “The average concentration of inorganic Hg did not change across the 28 days of
washout and was approximately 16 ng/ml [16 parts per billion].” See Burbacher et al 2005.

Doc If I were to ask if the celebrex drug
studies were good, before this scandal broke. I can just about guarantee you would have have said absolutely, well done
high quality robust studies yes indeed.
DoC if the drug co’s knew that the research was faked should they be punished?
Big Pharma researcher admits to faking dozens of research studies for Pfizer, Merck
It’s being called the largest research fraud in medical history. Dr. Scott Reuben, a former member of Pfizer’s speakers’ bureau, has agreed to plead guilty to faking dozens of research studies that were published in medical journals.
Now being reported across the mainstream media is the fact that Dr. Reuben accepted a $75,000 grant from Pfizer to study Celebrex in 2005. His research, which was published in a medical journal, has since been quoted by hundreds of other doctors and researchers as “proof” that Celebrex helped reduce pain during post-surgical recovery. There’s only one problem with all this: No patients were ever enrolled in the study!
Dr. Scott Reuben, it turns out, faked the entire study and got it published anyway.
It wasn’t the first study faked by Dr. Reuben: He also faked study data on Bextra and Vioxx drugs, reports the Wall Street Journal.
As a result of Dr. Reuben’s faked studies, the peer-reviewed medical journal Anesthesia & Analgesia was forced to retract 10 “scientific” papers authored by Reuben. The Day of London reports that 21 articles written by Dr. Reuben that appear in medical journals have apparently been fabricated, too, and must be retracted.
After being caught fabricating research for Big Pharma, Dr. Reuben has reportedly signed a plea agreement that will require him to return $420,000 that he received from drug companies. He also faces up to a 10-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
He was also fired from his job at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. after an internal audit there found that Dr. Reuben had been faking research data for 13 years. ( http://www.theday. com/article/ 20100…)
DoC freespeaker people are tired of being poisoned by big pharma.
Mainstream medicine is a JOKE, DoC here is an example of the integrity in your
precious feild and the thugs that run the Pharma co’s.
Drug companies support fraudulent research
Don’t forget that the drug companies openly supported Dr. Scott Reuben’s research. They paid him, in fact, to keep on fabricating studies.
The drug companies claim to be innocent in all this, but behind the scenes they had to have known what was going on. Dr. Reuben’s research was just too consistently favorable to drug company interests to be scientifically legitimate. If a drug company wanted to “prove” that their drug was good for some new application, all they had to do was ask Dr. Reuben to come up with the research (wink wink). “Here’s another fifty thousand dollars to study whether our drug is good for post-surgical pain (wink).”
And before long, Dr. Reuben would magically materialize a brand new study that just happened to “prove” exactly what the sponsoring drug company wanted to prove. Advocates of western medicine claim they don’t believe in magic, but when it comes to clinical trials, they actually do: All the results they wish to see just magically appear as long as the right researcher gets paid to materialize the results out of thin air, much like waving a magician’s wand and chanting, “Abra cadabra… let there be RESEARCH DATA!”
Shazam! The research data materializes just like that. It all gets written up into a “scientific” paper that also magically gets published in medical journals that fail to ask a single question that might exposed the research fraud.
I guess these people believe in magic after all, huh? Where science is lacking, a little “research magic” conveniently fills the void.
The whole system makes a mockery of real science. It is a system operated by criminals who fabricate whatever “scientific evidence” they need in order to get published in medical journals and win FDA approval for drugs that they fully realize are killing people.
Keep up the great work, Dr Reuben
Thank you, Dr Scott Reuben, for showing us the truth about the pharmaceutical industry, the research quackery, the laughable “scientific” journals and the bribery and corruption that characterizes the pharmaceutical industry today. You have done more to shed light on the true nature of the drug industry than a thousand articles on NaturalNews. com ever could.
Keep up the good work. After paying your fine and serving a little jail time, I’m sure your services will be in high demand at all the top drug companies that need yet more “scientific” studies to be fabricated and submitted to the medical journals.
You may be a dishonest, disgusting human being to most of the world, but you’re a huge asset to the pharmaceutical industry and they need you back! There are more studies that need to be fabricated soon; more false papers that need to be published and more dangerous drugs that need to receive FDA approval. Hurry!
Because if there’s one place that extreme dishonesty is richly rewarded, it’s in the pharmaceutical industry, where poisons are approved as medicines and fiction is published as the truth.
Joey, what this guy did was disgusting, and he should be prosecuted criminally for fraud. However, you cannot prove that anyone knew about it.
Second, Joey, you keep on neglecting to answer that very inconvenient question I asked you a week ago. Just how will the kids benefit? You kept commenting that we were not answering YOUR questions, but, you keep ignoring this question, which is FUNDAMENTAL to the issues.
C’mon, Joey, ‘fess up…you do not have an answer…or…you know that the kids cannot benefit…
Regarding the question and answer:
Q:“How would that make life better for the children already diagnosed as being autistic?”
A:“The vaccine compensation fund that was meant for the children, will finally go to the children.”
Also the science may provide information desperately needed to help treat the 270,521 children listed under the Autism category on the IDEA data base for the 2007-2008 school year on Table 1.7 at https://www.ideadata.org/arc_toc9.asp#partbCC .
In the final analysis, the science is not complete until it stops the last child from suffering from vaccine injury nor until it helps the first child that suffered the same.
Jimmy, so it is all about money? Just how wil lthe money make the kids lives better? Since there is no viable, safe and effective treatment for autism, just how will the money make the kids lives better?
Under IDEA, their education needs are already being taken care of. If not, then their parent/advocate should get off their butts and do what is needed. I hold the record in my school district for the number of Committee on Special Education meetings called. I made my district do the right things. When my sons got their diplomas, no one was clapping harder than the director of special education.
Since the children’s medical needs are taken care of through Medicaid, there is no issue there. If a state does not provide for this, or mandate coverage in private insurance, then the state should pick up the tab. That money would drain into states which have abdicated their responsibilities.
What should the money be used for? In my opinion, respite for the child and family, research into effective treatments, and, carefully trying to find the real cause of autism, not some fairy tale mythical vaccination link.
Of course, my ideas go against the anti-vaccinationistas vested interests and are opposed by those of that ilk.
Free Speaker, the question was answered by Joe.
See the comment above by joe on 2/13/10 at 7:56 pm
“In my opinion, respite for the child and family, research into effective treatments, and, carefully trying to find the real cause of autism, not some fairy tale mythical vaccination link.”
You and Joe may be closer to agreement than it appears-at least in three out of four areas.
Jim, I read Joe’s comment as you suggest, and rejected that answer as not being responsive to my question. Note that I said “for the *****children*****.” You can read my response at 2/14/10 at 3:37 pm. No one has ever answered the question of how finding the mythical link between vaccines and autism can positively affect the children.
Money is finite. The funds from the surcharge on vaccines which fund the vaccine injury fund cannot possibly cover all affected children. Additional money, in the form of direct spending from the fed and local budgets, is also finite. Wasting money trying to find a link between vaccines and autism is absurd. If there were some clear, unequivocal evidence of such a link, instead of the mountain of evidence against such a link, then it would be worthwhile spending the money. Until there is something to go on, use the money for direct family support and help.
freespeaker / jim In a congressional report from the US justice dept,They were saying that they defeated 3 of the vaccine test cases, but if they had to pay the other 5000 cases the cost would be over $10 billion they reminded the representatives they only have $2.5 billion. If you cannot read between the lines DoC freespeaker, let me help you.
The US justice Dept. was warning them they could lose, that is what the report was all about to tell the rep. We cannot pay for all these damaged children. So dont be DIGGING.
Free Speaker, look at page 9 of the 2000 report by Verstraeten et al of the CDC.
“In conclusion, we can state that this analysis does not rule out that receipt of thimerosal-containing vaccine in children under three months of age may be related to an increased risk of neurologic development disorders. Specific conditions that may warrant more detailed study include autism, dyslaia, misery and unhappiness disorder and attention deficit disorder.”
And look at the autism data on page 6.
“For AUTISM and the entire category of DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS, the relative risks found were slightly altered: see graphs 16 and 17.”
So then, using a linear regression (Microsoft excel) with an average reference dose of 15.65 micrograms of mercury, per page 21, gives the slope for graph 16. Using an x intercept of 15.65 micrograms of Hg (average reference dose) for linear regression, the slope is 0.013 (RR)/(microgram Hg). The equation is y = 1.00 + 0.013x - 0.2035, and R^2 equals 0.6821.
y equals Relative Risk, and x equals micrograms of mercury injected using Thimerosal vaccine preservative with n > 50.
See “Thimerosal VSD Study, Phase I, Update 2/29/00, CONFIDENTIAL DO NOT COPY OR RELEASE,” Verstraeten, Robert Davis, Frank DeStefano, page 9. See http://www.safeminds.org/research/library/20010229.pdf .
Four years later in 2004, Dr. Verstraeten repeated that concern in a published letter stating that “more study is required.” See PEDIATRICS Vol. 113 No. 4 April 2004, pp. 932 at http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/113/4/932 .
Then look at what Japan’s Kumamoto District Court ruled On March 20, 1973:
“It must be said that a chemical plant, in discharging the waste water out of the plant, incurs an obligation to
be highly diligent; to confirm safety through researches and studies regarding the presence of dangerous substances mixed in the waste water as well as their possible effects upon the animal, the plant, and the human body, always availing itself of the highest skill and knowledge; to provide necessary and maximum preventive measures such as immediate suspension of operation if a case should arise where there be some doubts as to safety… “ See http://www1.american.edu/ted/MINIMATA.HTM
Thimerosal has been removed from vaccines. Today, a child can get nearly all childhood vaccines Thimerosal free. The removal of Thimerosal was a mistake. You see, the removal was for public relations reasons. The FDA wanted to removed one of the whines of the anti-vax liars, since they were concerned that the whines would have the effect of lowering uptake (it did) and cause increases in vaccine preventable diseases causing disability and death (it did). However, the logic-challenged anti-vax liars used this as “proof” of their whines.
If Thimerosal had any effect on the incidence of autism, there would have been a DECREASE after removal. Instead, the CDDS numbers, the same source used by the anti-vax liars to “prove” there was an “epidemic” continued to grow at the same rate. This clearly refutes any link.
Concentrations, etc. are irrelevant.
freespeaker are you really that stupid
to defend putting mercury in children?
1948 Dr. Engleys AMA blue ribbon panel findings “We found thimerosal is toxic down to a level that is almost unbelievable.Down to 1.10, maybe 100 nanograms…a millionth of a gram and that is about
as toxic as you can get,” he said.”
Also
It is clear from this research supported by a grant from the American
Medical Association that
Thimerosal is neither efficacious nor safe, and should be removed as a
preservative in prescription biologics and pharmaceutical products, as well
as from topical over-the-counter products such as Butt-Balm that have
Thimerosal present in their formulations as an active ingredient.
Just before he died Dr. Engleys last quote and most important"if they had followed through on our 82 report the vaccines would have been freed of thimerosal and all this autism they tell me would not have occurred” You cannot get any more clearer than that.
What Dr. Engley was referring to is that these incompatant idiots were
warned again in 82 as well as in 48
in fact at a congressional hearing on thimerosal and autism Congressman Dan Burton asked Dr. Egan from the center
for biologics(CBER ) you had a interim plan in 82 to remove Thimerosal why didn’t you. His reply was very cocky he said I was not around back then you will have to ask someone who was. Then the Congressman posed another question to Dr.Egan from CBER Why is it Dr.Egan the only studies done on thimerosal were done in 1929 on 22 people dieing of meningitis they all died and we don’t know if this
was dangerous or not, then he said to Dr.Egan on your watch we lost a
generation of children. DR.Egan then changed from super Doc. with cocky
answers, to a catatonic state. Also his
eyes were as big as saucers he looked
like a deer caught in head lights. It took two women from health and human
services, one on each side to escort him out of that building.By the way, he could not speak any more. When confronted by WFAA ABC channel 8 Valerie Williams in the hall, she said why is it Dr. Egan that there has not been any research done since 1929?(FDA) He never answered, he was in a catatonic state and could not. But one of the women from health and human services did. She looked at her with disgust, and said if you want to know anything else you will have to call our press office. So folks you really think these agencies
are not guilty now!. By the way I looked that study up, it was to my surprise on the FDA website. They proudly announced the 29 subjects were followed for
one day. ( That seems to be their idea of a long term study ) Then it Thimerosal, was grandfathered in when the FDA was formed.
Burbacher et al found that there was an average brain to blood ratio of 3.5 in infant monkeys exposed to thimerosal from injection. And 34 % of the brain mercury was elemental mercury with an undetermined half-life of greater than 120 days.
So a level of one part per billion of total mercury in blood after a shot gave roughly one part per billion of elemental mercury in the infant monkey that stayed longer than 120 days.
Pichichero et al data showed five parts per billion total mercury in the blood of human infants after getting a shot with thimerosal.
So based on an estimate of 80 million brain cells per milliliter in a human, this gives a rough estimate of 180 thousand mercury atoms per brain cell for over 120 days.
Dr. Robert Brent, Developmental Biologist and Pediatrician from Thomas Jefferson University and Dupont Hospital for Children said this about mercury exposure from vaccines:
“The other thing is that each time you have an exposure there is a certain amount of irreversible damage, and that as you [increase] exposure the damage adds up. Not because of dose, but because they are irreversible.” See page 163 of the 2000 Simpsonwood transcripts.
And the USEPA regulates mercury as a hazardous waste because it bio-accumulates, especially in the brain, and because it is a neurotoxin.
And a flu shot (over half of all seasonal flu shots currently have thimerosal with 25 micrograms mercury in each shot) is equivalent to a half cup of mercury hazardous waste (see earlier comment).

Jimmy inquired: “freespeaker are you really that stupid
to defend putting mercury in children?”
Well, Jimmy, let me put it this way…I am not as stupid and gullible as to believe every wacko consspiracy yarns and myths that you, et al, believe. Your feeble attempts at debating the science notwithstanding, you are primarily driven by the lies and propaganda of those who are properly called pro-anti-vaaination liar infectious disease merchants of disability and death. You may not realize it, but, you are.
Hi Jim, I have to wonder if you are simply parroting something from a favorite website, rather than reading the actual study, understanding it, and understanding what is actually supported by the data within it. Granted, this is not necessarily easy when statistics and semilog graphs are involved, but it is essential.
Here’s the bottom line, there is one conclusion by Burbacher that is absolutely supported by the data in the 2005 study. Here it is in his Burbacher’s own words:
“The key findings of the present study are the differences in the disposition kinetics and demethylation rates of thimerosal and MeHg. Consequently, MeHg is not a suitable reference for risk assessment from exposure to thimerosal-derived Hg.”
In a nutshell, Burbacher’s science directly states and demonstrates that the idiotic “Flu Shot compared to the EPA’s oral RfD for methylmercury” is invalid. Your continuing to cite Burbacher is intellectually shooting yourself in the foot (though you don’t seem to realize it).
You wrote:
Burbacher et al found that there was an average brain to blood ratio of 3.5 in infant monkeys exposed to thimerosal from injection.
Yeah, so what? I’d like you to explain, in your own words, the significance of this. I understand what Burbacher said it means. It’s simply that one cannot accurately estimate total mercury in the brain based on measured blood level if you’re talking about the two different kinds of mercury (i.e. you can’t use the MeHg ratio to calculate total brain Hg for thimerosal exposure based on blood levels. The brain-blood ratio will be higher for ethylmercury, but this doesn’t mean more mercury. In fact, Burbacher shows us that this ethylmecury clears faster, and results in much lower brain concentration of total Hg.
“Total Hg derived from im thimerosal is cleared from the infant M. fascicularis much more quickly than MeHg. The washout T1/2 of total blood Hg after im injections of thimerosal in vaccines is much shorter than the T1/2 of MeHg (6.9 vs. 19.1 days). These results support the earlier conclusion of Magos (2003) that Hg is cleared from the body faster after the administration of ethylmercury than afterthe administration of MeHg.”
“A much lower brain concentration of total Hg was observed in the thimerosal monkeys compared with the MeHg monkeys, that is, a 3- to 4-fold difference for an equivalent exposure of Hg. Moreover, total Hg is cleared much more rapidly from the brain after thimerosal than after MeHg exposure (24 vs. 60 days). It appears that the difference in brain Hg exposure between thimerosal and MeHg is largely driven by their differences in systemic disposition kinetics (i.e., the blood level). The average brain-to-blood partitioning ratio of total Hg in the thimerosal group was slightly higher than that in the MeHg group (3.5 ± 0.5 vs. 2.5 ± 0.3, t-test, p = 0.11). Thus, the brain to- blood Hg concentration ratio established for MeHg will underestimate the amount of Hg in the brain after exposure to thimerosal.”
You also wrote:
And 34 % of the brain mercury was elemental mercury with an undetermined half-life of greater than 120 days. So a level of one part per billion of total mercury in blood after a shot gave roughly one part per billion of elemental mercury in the infant monkey that stayed longer than 120 days.
34% Elemental? You might need to reread the paper, from the beginning.
And here you write:
Pichichero et al data showed five parts per billion total mercury in the blood of human infants after getting a shot with thimerosal.
Jim, you really need to quit citing studies that prove your own arguments incorrect. It’s just not a good strategy. Like Burbacher, Pichichero also concludes and demonstrates that a comparison between thimerosal in vaccines and an oral RfD for MeHg is invalid.
“CONCLUSIONS. The blood half-life of intramuscular ethyl mercury from thimerosal in vaccines in infants is substantially shorter than that of oral methyl mercury in adults. Increased mercury levels were detected in stools after vaccination, suggesting that the gastrointestinal tract is involved in ethyl mercury elimination. Because of the differing pharmacokinetics of ethyl and methyl mercury, exposure guidelines based on oral methyl mercury in adultsmay not be accurate for risk assessments in children who receive thimerosal-containing vaccines.”
Doc your misquoting Burbacher, I know because I
know him. And the reason he went after Pichichero
was because Pichichero was saying that the Thimerosal clears the body in 3-7 days.
Hears his exact quote; keep in mind how he makes it very clear, that Thimerosal crosses the BBB easier
than doe’s the fish mercury. Now that doe’s not sound like someone that is unsure of the toxicity of the two Mercury’s to me in-fact that sounds like someone that is trying to stop someone from getting misinformation out there.
His quote will be after the explanation of the Pichichero claims;Pichichero claimed his study of
about 200 babies and children, who were injected with vaccines containing ethyl mercury (thimerosal), showed that measurable mercury levels in the blood of the children were gone within 3.7 days. This, says Pichichero, is much quicker than the average 44 days it takes for methyl mercury (found in fish) to be undetectable in the blood. Ergo, he says, exposure to thimerosal does not cause brain damage or autism!
Doc; This is just the opposite of the Manufacturer
Msds, states; that Thimerosal targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain.
I would think that the manuf.of Thimerosal knows their own product.
The Quote from Burbacher;
Dr.Thomas Burbacher the NIH paid for researcher on primates replies.
“Not so fast”, says Thomsas Brubacher, M.D., a scientist who studies the biological effects of ethyl mercury on primates. “Just because it came out of the blood dozen’t mean it is excreted from the body. It could have gone to the brain. In primates, you actually get more mercury in the brain after exposure to ethyl mercury than with methyl mercury - it has an easier time crossing the blood brain barrier.”
He just said that Thimerosal (Ethyl) crosses the BBB easier than the (methyl) Doc!
Here’s another reason, this cannot be true the MSDS of Thimerosal states; Thimerosal is accumulative in the body. Doc the manufacturer did not say, it clears in
3 - 7 days. They said Thimerosal is accumulative in the body and it Thimerosal, targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain. That does not sound very healthy to me, Doc!
Doc! stop misquoting Burbacher! These researchers would speak up, except for the fact of the NIH withholding any further research grants. They are afraid of losing their lively hoods. Some freedom of speech, only what we want to hear.
Jimmy, it would be most helpful if you would provide links to what you are quoting. You see, anti-vaxxers, such as yourself, love to use techinques known as quote mining and cherry picking to change meanings.
I have known Do’C for many years, and he does not misquote. I do not know you.
And, I am still waiting for a clear and concise answer to how it will be better for the children. No one seems to give a real good answer.
FreeSpeaker:
Reread the comment.
So how could the CDC’s Dir. recommend that the pregnant women, should get their flu shot.
But stay away from the fish mercury, we just learned that Thimerosal crosses the BBB easier than doe’s the fish mercury.
Also it on the MSDS That;
Pregnant women should not be exposed to thimerosal,
for it can cross the placenta and go into the baby
and cause mild to severe mental retardation.
Readers let me help you out here (Mild) ADD, ADHD,
Speech Delay,(Severe) Autism, Bipolar, Anorexia,
This is after the IOM report come’s out that Thimerosal
is safe. Oh! but do keep in mind, what the CDC ‘s Dr. McCormick ask of the IOM in a verbal form, and in the contract form between the CDC and the IOM. (verbal) Dr. McCormick, for example, in speaking of the CDC, noted that the
agency
“wants us to declare, well, these things are pretty safe on a population basis.” (See Exhibit 1 at page 33).
(DoC) Notice how they are saying on a population basis not on a subset group, that seem to handle vaccines and mercury differently.
Contract form;
When byronchild asked CDC spokesperson Curtis Allen for a copy of the
contract that would detail the agreement between the IOM and the CDC,
Allen
stated that the contract would be available only in a heavily
“redacted” or
blacked-out format.
Doc Seems someone is hiding something because the only time you black out something is when your hiding something
The IOM stated “no comment” to byronchild about the leaked transcript
or its
use in the pending civil court case.
It is later stated that what Walt wants Walt generally gets Walter A. Orenstein, M.D., Director of the National Immunization Program (NIP), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
You see readers the CDC ordered the IOM to put all their confidence in the large populace studies, pay little to no atten. to the biological evidence.
Readers that includes all Toxicity studies and other evidence that the IOM used to conclude that the Thimerosal & vaccines autism connection was biologically plausible a few years earlier.
And readers the Dir. of the CDC agreed that all the big populace studies in the VSD were in-fact useless her own words were that any further use of the VSD looking
at a vaccines autism connection would be misleading.
Again readers for six years the CDC Dir. had maintained that the large populace VSD studies were of excellent design very well done and robust.
One year and one week later after leaving the CDC, after President Obama asked for her resignation.
She the Dir. of the CDC goe’s to work; officially that is,for MERCK pharmaceuticals
The cool off period is one year,She the Dir. waited
one week, I guess she did not want to look to eager
going to work for someone she use to be regulating.
This is the spokes person for the CDC, notice how he is
so quick. To start lieing to the public.
The reporter is from First coast news, She is talking to the spokesperson Dr.Cochi
The reporter said, Dr.Cochi are you telling us it’s OK to put mercury in our young baby’s? You could see the shock on his face, that she asked that question. He looked like a deer caught in headlights,
then the lies began. he said “this is a
friendlier gentle kind of mercury, also
we know, that it doesn’t’t cross the BBB
(Blood Brain Barrier) Boy was this guy misinformed!
So now you have it readers,That’s the way that the CDC and Pharma get’s away with the misinformation that has caused a generation of sick children. most of the public doe’s not know what I just shared with you, they count on you not doing your home work, that is why Dr.Cochi began to lie to the public, he was counting on you the public not knowing any different.
Personally, I do not like lie rs having anything to do with vaccine safety. It appears, like with the example of Dr. Cochi. That you cannot trust them.
As far as CDC spokes person Curtis Allen statement
that the contract would be available only in a heavily
“redacted” or blacked-out format.
DoC, this is law governing the CDC;
The sunshine rule is that the CDC is only supposed to do things in the public eye with complete transparency
Now, is this the best the CDC can do!POISONING little
children on purpose so that the Autism rate will not drop to rapidly. DoC remember (simpsonwood meeting) “you
would never want to go any earlier or you would most certainly get more out comes” And they did!
Freespeaker Your science consists of the CDC ordering the IOM not to find causation. Them adhering to it, and
using; the parents will stop vaccinating if we release a negative report mantra to ease their conscience and to justify their lie to the public.
The other examples is the Big populace studies that the
CDC Dir. admitted were in-fact useless.
So useless that President Bush tried to seal the VSD for ever. If their proof is in the VSD, that the children were not harmed, then why seal the documents
to the VSD? That is what two senators wrote to the President that made him stop sealing the VSD Oh! the Senator also said I want any and all communications
between you Mr. President and your staff and any pharmaceutical company’s. Like I said, follow the money and you will find corruption when it comes to this issue.
The other Senators words were, “why are you sealing the documents for one, and why are you sealing them forever?
It’s as though you robbed the bank and you are trying to hide the proof of the damage done.
Also a tox study that is not consistent with the manufacturer own words about Thimerosal leaving
the body.
I believe; “it’s accumulative in the body, and it targets the organs of the body in-particular the brain and the lining around the brain” Is as clear as you can get in saying that just because it clears the blood you might want to look in the else where in BODY!
Seems we have us another, I will do anything for the money researcher. You know the I will give you any results you want, kinda guy.
“The Lancet was originally set up in 1823 by Dr Thomas Wakley who couldn’t get any other journals of the day, to publish his views on the medical profession. After all, he called them liars, incompetents, nepotistic and corrupt. Dr Wakley used his own money to say exactly what he wanted how he wanted and be damned to his own colleagues. For many years, the Lancet fearlessly exposed the medical profession’s conflicts of interest; damage to patients, and became the darling of the disenchanted.
By 1900, the Lancet was a leader; a shaker; a mover; a catalyst for badly needed change.
In 2010, 187 years later, it is pretty safe to say that the Lancet, is now as “respectable” as the journals in 1820, who would not publish Wakley’s articles.
But there is a huge fundamental difference today, which was not there in 1823. Would BIG PHARMA, the GMC, and other controlling, or regulatory bodies today, stand for Andrew Wakefield and others like him, setting up their own “medical journal” and pointing out their colleagues sins of commission and ommission?”
Where is the pro poison Ilk?
You talk about cherry picking you all are pros.
Joe said: “Your science consists of the CDC ordering the IOM not to find causation.”
No, Joe, science is far more extensive than that. Way more extensive.
I have given you several URLs for more information, however, I see no evidence that you have read anything. What you post is conspiracy crap, not backed up by reality. You claim I have no science, but offer nothing of value in return.
I rarely debate science with anyone who is clearly antivaccination. Here is why:
Taken from, and partially re-written to focus on anti-vaxxers
http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2010/02/debating_deniers.php with
permission from the author.
Professor Deborah Lipstadt, who was sued by Holocaust Denier David Irving for correctly calling him a Holocaust Denier, said, “Debating a denier is like trying to nail a blob of Jello to the wall.” (NOTE:
Professor Lipstadt won the case).
To paraphrase, there many reasons why it is pointless at best and counterprodcutive at worst to debate an anti-vaccination liar.
First, for the debate to be an intellectually useful exercise, two reasonable points of view should be argued; points of view that have evidence to support them. In the debate, the evidence doesn’t have to
be of equal quantity and quality on each side, of course, but it should at least be somewhere in the same ball park or have some basis in reality.
As much as they disparage mainstream thought and science of vaccination, they desperately crave to be taken seriously. Being seen in the same venue, on the same stage, or on the same media outlet as an apparent equal gives them just what they want, i. e. the imprimatur of validity, equality of ideas and respectability.
And, damn, some of them are really good at being the Jello that you can’t nail to the wall. Some of them even have “warning posts”.
Another point that Lipstadt brought up about Holocaust deniers that can also be applied to anti-vaxxers is that she said at the outset of her trial that she did not want it to become a trial over whether the
Holocaust happened. That it did is irrefutable )just like the fact that vaccinations save lives and prevent horrible disabilities), backed by mountains of evidence, as is the historical fact that it was a planned, intentional program of mass murder and genocide.
Parelleling that idea, debating safety and efficacy of vaccines with the anti-vaxxers is precisely what Prof. Lipstadt said about debating Holocaust deniers. I will not do it.
Rather, she made the debate one concerning the methods of the Holocaust deniers. traced the assertions in his book back to his original sources.
In his book, Holocaust Denial On Trial, David Irving, Hitler and Holocaust Denial: Electronic Edition, Richard J. Evans says:
“It has already been shown in the preceding sections of this Report how Irving adopts a variety of procedures which conform to several of the techniques of falsification and manipulation laid out in Lipstadt’s list. He bends and wilfully mistranslates reliable sources; he deliberately suppresses evidence which runs counter to his argument; he skews evidence and misquotes by omitting vital parts of documents and by mistranslating other parts which he does cite; he
takes accurate and reliable sources such as the Himmler phone log and shapes and bends it to suit his purposes by including speculation and pure invention which is in no way warranted by the documentary record; he misrepresents data by presenting unreliable sources as reliable when they serve his argument; he relies on books such as memoirs and diaries that directly contradict his argument, and interprets them in
a way that runs counter to what the authors intended, falsely attributing to them conclusions which they did not reach.” (http://hdot.org/en/trial/defense/evans)
These are precisely the same techniques used by anti-vaxxers. Now, do not get the impression that I am calling anti-vaxxers Nazi, etc. However, and make this point clear, they use the same tactics. Their use of various types of fallacious arguments and twisting of data that they engage in are just two of their tactics in common.
Being an anti-vaxxer is not a matter of what is being argued, but how it is being argued. It’s about bad reasoning, bad science, cherry picking data, and misrepresenting sources to support a preexisting
agenda.
Which is why in a debate they are so damned hard to pin down. Like nailing Jello to the wall.
You lack science and a connection to reality.
Thank you Dad of Cameron for pointing out that Burbacher et al reports inorganic mercury in the infant monkey brain and not elemental mercury.
Correction: Burbacher et al reported “A higher percentage of the total Hg in the brain was in the form of inorganic [not elemental] mercury for the thimerosal-exposed infants (34% [thimerosal exposure] vs 7% [methymercury exposure]). Burbacher et al, p. 4.
So next, consider why Burbacher et al states that “The current study indicates that MeHg is not a suitable reference for risk assessment from exposure to thimerosal derived Hg.” p. 4 ibid
While Burbacher et al notes that “These blood levels [in infant monkeys from thimerosal exposure] are also similar to those reported in preterm [human] infants receiving 12.5 micro grams of mercury from a hepatitis b vaccine (Stajich et al. 2000).” P. 13, ibid; they also note that “… the brain-to-blood mercury concentration ratio established for MeHg will UNDERESTIMATE the amount of mercury in the brain after exposure to thimerosal.” Page 16, ibid
And Burbacher et al notes that “This level of inorganic Hg represented 21 % to 86% of the total Hg in the brain (mean±SE = 70±4%), depending on the [infant monkey] sacrifice time. These values [from Thimerosal exposure] are CONSIDERABLY HIGHER than the inorganic fraction observed in the brain of MeHg infants (6% to10%).” Page 14, ibid
And look at figure 4 (page 30) and figure 7 (page 33) at http://ehp.niehs.nih.gov/members/2005/7712/7712.pdf.
The inorganic levels in the infant monkey brain are higher for the thimerosal exposure!
Finally, Burbacher et al states “Data from the current study predicts that while little accumulation of Hg in the blood occurs over time with repeated vaccinations, accumulation of Hg in the brain of infants will occur. Thus, CONCLUSION REGARDING THE SAFETY of thimerosal drawn from blood Hg clearance data in human infants receiving vaccines MAY NOT BE VALID, given the significantly slower halflife of Hg in the brain as observed in the infant macaques.” Page 17, ibid
Joe asks: “But there is a huge fundamental difference today, which was not there in 1823. Would BIG PHARMA, the GMC, and other controlling, or regulatory bodies today, stand for Andrew Wakefield and others like him, setting up their own “medical journal” and pointing out their colleagues sins of commission and ommission?”
Joe, such journals already exist. Only scientific illiterates and those who use conspiracies instead of science use them. JPANDS is one. A pure fringe group.
See? You conspiracy is kaput!
This means that the risk may be higher for a given thimerosal ethyl-mercury intake (based on micrograms of mercury per exposure per day) causing neurological damage to children and the developing brain of the fetus than the risk from a similar intake of methyl-mercury (based on micrograms of mercury per exposure per day).
The fact that thimerosal has been removed from childhood vaccines makes this obsession with Thimerosal a form of OCD.
Inorganic mercury is the most damaging to the mitochondria, and very efficient at
depleting the glutathione. (That is needed to excrete mercury)Thimerosal is changed in the body to ethyl-mercury, then it enters the brain. Easier than doe’s the fish mercury, and metabolizes into Inorganic.
This is vaccineal mercury (Thimerosal), not methyl-mercury or AKA fish mercury.
That is the most damaging to the child’s mitochondria, causing Mitochondria dysfunction / disorder or autism like symptoms AKA (AUTISM) per Dr. Gerberding
Dir. of the CDC according to a telephone
conference with 6 teams of mito specialist quietly looking at mito disorders being what we believe is Autism the CDC. was told it could be very well be that 1 - 50 has the nuclear DNA
for mitochondria dysfunction / disorder
damage. They were also told that the possibility’s for autism then are staggering. Funny what goes on behind closed doors,no! tragic that they lie to we the people.
The call; The teleconference was scheduled by a little known CDC agency called the Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment (CISA) Network, a consortium of six research centers working on “immunization-associated health risks,” in conjunction with the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office and the health insurance lobby—whose companies cover some 200 million Americans.
The hot topic of the day was mitochondria - the little powerhouses within each cell that convert food and oxygen into energy for use by the body. Recent news events have implicated mitochondria in at least one case of regressive autism, following normal development.
Some researchers on the call reported that mitochondrial dysfunction is probably much more common than the current estimate of 1-in-4,000 people. The potential implications for autism, then, are staggering.
“We need to find out if there is credible evidence, theoretically, to support the idea that childhood mitochondrial dysfunction might regress into autism,” one of the callers reportedly told participants.
“THE CLOCK IS TICKING”
One person on the call (those interviewed for this article asked to remain anonymous) told me that, “the CDC people were informed, in no uncertain terms, that they need to look into this issue immediately, and do something about it.” The clock is ticking, they were told, and if they don’t respond, the information will be made public.
Still, the doctor said, he was enormously impressed by the “seriousness” with which CDC officials treated the possibility of a link between mitochondria, autism and possibly vaccines as well.“Apparently, the Portuguese study really got their attention,” one of the participants said. “It’s a highly significant finding. And it’s worrisome enough to definitely look into. I think the CDC people know that.”
They also know that some reports estimate the rate of mitochondrial dysfunction in autism to be 20% or more. And the rate among children with the regressive sub-type of autism is likely higher still.
Vaccine safety officials on the March 11 call may have been open to discussing mitochondria and autism, but they were probably highly unprepared for what was to come next.
One doctor reported his findings from a five-year study of children with autism, who also showed clinical markers for impaired cellular energy, due to mild dysfunction of their mitochondria.
The biochemistry of 30 children was studied intensively, and in each case, the results showed the same abnormalities as those found in Hannah Poling, participants said. Each child had moderate elevations or imbalances in the exact same amino acids and liver enzymes as Hannah Poling.
All thirty children also displayed normal, healthy development until about 18-24 months of age, when they quickly regressed into clinically diagnosed autism (and not merely “features of autism”), following some type of unusual trigger, or stress, placed on their immune system.
Researchers explained on the call that some data show that mitochondrial dysfunction can convert into autism “in numbers that make it not a rare occurrence,” one participant told me. They explained this as “a distinct syndrome; not a mixed bag at all. Every kid had mild mitochondria dysfunction and autistic regression.”
Gerberding and others had previously insisted that Hannah and her mother, Teri Poling, both had the same single point mutation in their mitochondrial DNA. CDC officials asserted that Hannah had a pre-existing disease, a rare genetic glitch in her mitochondria, that may well have manifested as “features of autism” on its own, perhaps even without an environmental trigger.
“It’s not in the mitochondrial DNA, and it’s not rare,” one participant confirmed. In fact, he said, many people probably carry the nuclear DNA mutation that confers susceptibility to mitochondrial dysfunction, they just don’t know it.
1-in-50 GENETIC RISK?
On the call, speculation on the prevalence of a genetic mutation that could confer mild mitochondrial dysfunction in the general population ranged from about 1-in-400, to a staggering 1-in-50, or 2% of all Americans. But at least two of the 30 kids with mito deficiencies were pushed over the edge into autism by their vaccines, and some researchers feel the number is probably much higher than that in the larger population.
“Vaccines, in some cases, can cause an unusually heightened immune reaction, fever, and even mild illness,” one participant said. “A normal vaccine reaction in most kids would be very different in a kid with a metabolic disorder. We know it happened to at least two kids in this study, and I’m certain there are many more Hannahs out there.”
when you cannot answer the questions you call it a conspiracy theory.
When we say green our vaccines, and administer them with greater care
with over 8000 in attendance in Washington DC.you call us antivax nuts.
When the children who were damaged are chelated at an early age, some have come off the spectrum. You call that anecdotal evidence and you also refuse to look at the labs proving heavy metal toxicity or even examine the child.
We read emails obtained through the FOIA
act saying; this was not rocket science it was 9th grade math how could this have happened.
or this one; how could the FDA OK a preservative with out knowing how much
mercury it contained, what else is lurking that we know nothing about
and my all time favorite FOIA email;
maybe we should just come clean with the people.
I saved the best for last the MSDS of the
mercury based preservative Thimerosal; Thimerosal is accumulative in the body.
Also
Thimerosal targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain.
Oh!I forgot the one thing that proves
how far the corrupt reach of pharma is, ;President Bush trying to seal the VSD forever, the VSD is the proof that their vaccines did no harm to the children.
And you wonder why, we parents think there is a conspiracy to cover up.
Again, NO ONE should give a child or pregnant woman a half cup of mercury hazardous waste liquid to drink. And yet there are 25 micrograms of mercury in each flu shot that uses Thimerosal as a preservative. And a half cup of water (4 ounces) with that much mercury has 0.2114 parts per million mercury and is considered a hazardous waste by the USEPA. http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/get-cfr.cgi?TITLE=40&PART=261&SECTION=24&TYPE=TEXT
Joe says: “And you wonder why, we parents think there is a conspiracy to cover up.”
No, Joe, I do not wonder in the slightest manner why there are many parents who think that. You see, my family has two special children, and when we realized that they were special, we were angry, too. We wanted to destroy the world.
We got over it. We learned to accept our kids for who they are, not what they are not. We have never regretted that, and we never look back.
We, too, could have been the victims of propaganda, like you and Jim are. As far as I am concerned, you have been lied to by experts who feed off your anger.
And, those people who did it to you are filth.
Joe and Free Speaker and Dad of Cameron, our granddaughter was mostly nonverbal but she loved music and absolutely loved Shrek. Here is a universal song written by Leonard Cohen – her gift to us and also our offering to you and your families. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2NEU6Xf7lM .
And yet there are 25 micrograms of mercury in each flu shot that uses Thimerosal as a preservative.
Jim, is this an intentional lie? Or do you really not know that a pediatric dose of Fluzone is 12.5 micrograms?
Yes, I know that first-timers are recommended to have 2, a month apart, but not all pediatric patients fit that category. The point is that you are blatantly and carelessly repeating something that is simply not true.
What is the uptake of thimerosal-containing vs. the prefilled, thimerosal-free shots in the pediatric population?
Great song though, and great vocal arrangement, thanks.
You are welcome…
Look at http://www.cdc.gov/FLU/ABOUT/QA/thimerosal.htm .
Then right click on the link called “Table: Influenza Vaccine Manufacturers for the 2009-10 Influenza Season.”
Then look at the properties. It gives http://www.cdc.gov/FLU/ABOUT/QA/vaxsupply.htm#table .
That CDC link is not working.
But it was on November 11, 2009 and it contained a CDC statement that “At the current time, six influenza vaccine manufacturers are projecting that as many as 114-115 million doses of influenza vaccine will be available from currently licensed manufacturers in the U.S. for use during the 2009-10 influenza season… For the 2009-10 season, manufacturers project producing approximately 50 million doses of thimerosal-free or
preservative-free (trace thimerosal) influenza vaccine.”
So based on that supply forecast by the CDC that 56 percent (64 million doses) of the seasonal flu shots have thimerosal with 25 micrograms of mercury (50 parts per million or 250 times the concentration that triggers a hazardous waste classification see http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/get-cfr.cgi?TITLE=40&PART=261&SECTION=24&TYPE=TEXT ).
Based on the CDC recommendation (the CDC states that it is safe for children 6 months and older and pregnant women to receive flu vaccine with thimerosal), then most of the children and pregnant women in the US that get this flu shot would receive it with 25 micrograms of mercury.
It is unconscionable that these vaccines are still administered to children and pregnant women
Here is an example of your researchers,
of the well done studies you quoted in action.
DANISH AUTHOR OF KEY STUDIES SHOWING NO LINK BETWEEN MERCURY AND AUTISM VANISHES AFTER FRAUD UNCOVERED: AARHAUS SAYS SCIENTIST IS POUL THORSEN CO-AUTHOR WITH K M MADSEN.
The lead author of a key study used by EU and USA health bodies as evidence mercury in vaccines does not cause autism has vanished after it emerged that he fraudulently claimed 10 million crowns in funds from his university in Denmark.
According to a statement by the CDC, the researcher is Dr Poul Thorsen, who was also employed by Emory University, Atlanta, without the knowlege of his university, according to the Danish media.
Police, who were called in to investigate by the university after they found a 10-million crown hole in their budget, believe the researcher is in the USA, living and working in Atlanta.
The scientist has worked on a multi-phase research project on the cause of autism that has been received about 80 million crowns in funding from the CDC, headquartered in Atlanta, since 2002.
Poul Thorsen along with Keersten Madsen Meldgaard was the author of a study published in 2002 that used data from Danish children to show that there was no link between mercury in vaccines and autism.
The data in the study called Population-Based Study of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccination and Autism and published in the New England Journal of Medicine appears to show that autism rates went up after mercury was removed from vaccines, and was used in many subsequent studies justifying the use of mercury.
However, the study has come under criticism for evidence that data has been manipulated to bolster the pro vaccine cause.
http://www.whale.to/a/branell.html
More on; DANISH AUTHOR OF KEY STUDIES SHOWING NO LINK BETWEEN MERCURY AND AUTISM VANISHES AFTER FRAUD UNCOVERED
The close links and email communication between Kristeen Madsen and CDC researcher Dr. Diane Simpson have come be fiercely criticised for appearing to show that Madsen and Simpson looked for data to suit their theory.
http://www.putchildrenfirst.org/chapter5.html
The revelation that a key author of key pro thiomersal study has apparently vanished over a case fraud involving the CDC funds is sure to reignite the dispute about the validity of these studies and the dangers of thiomersal.
The CDC, an agency belonging to the US Department of Health and Human Services, has been accused of hiding the relationship between threefold growth of vaccinations for US children in the 1990s and the epidemic of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders that began at exactly the same time.
Key pro-vaccine studies in The Journal of the American Medical Association, The American Journal of Preventative Medicine and the American Medical Association appearing to show no link between autism and mercury have also been based on the Danish data.
Also, the Danish data was used by a team from the Centers for Disease Control working with colleagues at the University of Aarhaus to link autism to difficult birth and a family history of mental illness in a study from 2005.
The validity of all these studies will also now be called into question.
The fraud involving 10 million crowns raises the issue of whether money flowing to the Danish researcher from the CDC was a reward for manipulating study results.
Swine flu vaccines with thiomersal were administered to millions of people, including babies and children, this autumn as part of the CDC and WHO pandemic management plans in spite of a lack of clinical data.
More on the CDC paid study fraud.
Two reports from the Danish media translated by Ulla Danielson:
SWINDLE FOR MILLIONS AT AARHUS UNIVERSITY
By Maja Nielsen and Morten Ravn, Aarhus stiftstidende, Wednesday February 10, 2010
A big research project has resulted in a deficit of 10 million crowns in the budget of Aarhus university.
Police are investigating the case as fraud while the university has cut ist links to the chief-investigator from Aarhus, writes Danish Daily Aarhus Stiftstidende.
The Aarhus-based scientist left his job at the medical health faculty in March last year. After a short period, the university began to suspect something was radically wrong. The suspicion increased.
Accordingly the university in collaboration with Board of Science and Innovation reported the case to the police of Eastern Jylland.
Among other things the now disputed research project maps out the cause of autism. Since 2002, the project has received more than 80 millions crowns from the American board of health, the CDC.
The University of Aarhus is in the process of issuing a declaration to a lot of institutions about the tangled case.
In this communication the director of the university, Joergen Joergensen, underlines that the aarhus-scientist no longer is connected with the university.
It seems he was deceiving everyone from the beginning.
Researcher employed in more than one place
“At the same time it has become clear that the resigned leader of the research project has been employed doubly.
Without the university’s knowledge, he has been a payed employee at the University of Emory in the USA while he was still employed in aarhus.
“Of course that is not acceptable,” says head of press for the rector at the university, Anders Corell, to Aarhus Stiftstidende.
He does not want to say anything about the amount of money the University is missing. Neither will Anders Corell comment on the information provided to the newspaper talking about a fraud involving 10 million crowns.
Police inspector Boerge Frandsen from Eastern Jylland’s police confirms, that there is a report. The police has started to investigate the case.
”Yes, it is about fraud”, the police inspector says to Aarhus Stiftstidende.
He is not able to confirm or deny size of the amount of money or the consequences.
But so far the disputed chief investigator has not been charged.
He was called a Stein Bagger;type (a Danish financial fraud) who is eminently clever at raising money from funds.
This is interesting, considering the
CDC is in an email stating that the IOM meeting is in weeks. And they have searched frantically! And cannot find anything in the US.
Then she says, that they will have to
go elsewhere and get them a study.
So we are left to assume that the CDC
was seeking a study done by a Danish financial fraud) who is eminently clever at raising money from funds.
Later on in the emails,it is stated the only studies that their interested in is those that exonerate the CDC and the vacc. preservative Thimerosal.
Notice they do not care about the real science, just dig them out of the hole their in.
( TO HELL WITH THE TRUTH,AFTER ALL WE AMERICANS CANNOT HANDLE THE TRUTH! )
Besides this truth, could end a lot of prominent Dr’s and Researchers careers. That have been warned since 1948 and again in 1982; get this dangerous compound out of everything it is in!
It’s is toxic down to an unbelievable
level. They did not listen, instead a
child playing the dangerous game (CDC catch up) on vaccines. A child in the 90’s, could receive 9 vaccines on one day at one setting 7 of which contained the mercury. That is a whopping 32,500 ppb
of mercury. And remember, that is on one
day at one setting. Now here comes the shocking revelation, the EPA considers 200 ppb Liquid hazardous waste. So what is 32,500 ppb? Could it be? Autism ADD ADHD Speechdelay and other chronic diseases.
Joe, I am well aware of this charade. If you visit LeftBrain/RightBrain, you will learn that this is a fraud by others. You see, with Wakefield in the toilet and looking for a job, the anti-vax liars needed a smokescreen.
Furthermore, even assuming that this has some merit, he was only one of nearly a dozen authors, where the raw data is well available, and no one has found any problems with the study (unlike with Wakefield). The Danish study was also replicated in other countries, by other teams. Replication is the hallmark of science.
As for this debacle, this is the typical crap that anti-vax liars use when scientific facts fail them.
Freespeaker you said;and no one has found any problems with the study
Excuse me, NIEHS words the VSD large population studies was useless. But they were an improvement over the others in particular the two DENMARK studies
VSD studies useless
Denmark studies worse than useless
(is there a such thing)
Like Dr. Haley said if thimerosal was protecting children as the Denmark study claimed, how come
the countrys that have taken it out have not
reinstated it to date no one has after all it
protects the children from Autism.
Freespeeker; We knew the Denmark study was fraud
for years, in an email from SSI Denmark to the CDC
a person seems perplexed she is saying as of 2001
the incedences of Autism continued to DECLINE!The
lines before and after is blacked out by the KGB
I assume the blacked out line could be
What the hell are you talking about “as of 2001
the incedences of Autism continued to DECLINE!
Oh! excuse me the CDC

“Neurotoxicology. 2009 Oct 2. [Epub ahead of print] WITHDRAWN: Delayed acquisition of neonatal reflexes in newborn primates receiving a thimerosal-containing Hepatitis B vaccine: Influence of gestational age and birth weight.” [1]
The paper had cleared all those successive hurdles necessary for a paper to be published. The paper had passed eligibility screening, peer review and gained statistical, technical and editor’s approval for publication in a prestigious international journal. It had been disseminated in electronic format and with the designation “in press”, it stood in line for publication in the print version of ‘Neurotoxicology’. On 12 February the paper was quietly withdrawn.
Was the topic area important and relevant to the ‘Neurotoxicology’ readership?
Yes. Questions have long been asked about the possible link between mercury in vaccines and neurodevelopment outcomes. Since vaccines containing the preservative thimerosal, (Th) including neonatal hepatitis B (HB) vaccine, continue to be used routinely in developing countries, continued safety testing is important, particularly for premature and low birth weight neonates. Exploration of the neurotoxicity of mercury containing vaccines would certainly have been appropriate for the readership of ‘Neurotoxicology’ and highly relevant to a general medical readership, so long as it was scientifically robust.
In summary, the researchers concluded that their primate study provided “preliminary evidence of abnormal neurodevelopmental responses in male infant macaques receiving a single dose of Th-containing HB vaccine at birth and indicates that further investigation is merited.” Birth weight and GA (gestational age) appeared to be important variables that predicated susceptibility. [2]
Having jumped all the hurdles to publication, one can only assume that the science was robust. Why then was the paper withdrawn? Can erasing this paper from the official record be a good thing for science? Could Professor Greenhalgh please explain?

Joey, the final desicions of the Autism Omnibus Hearings were published today. There are three, and I suggest you spend th enext month reading them, and trying to understand and accept the findings that THIMEROSAL DOES NOT CAUSE AUTISM. Case closed. Here is a link to the decisions:
http://www.uscfc.uscourts.gov/node/5026
Joey, I just finished reading one of the decisions. The reasoning of the Special Master is extraordinarily insightful. I’ll give you a shiort synopsis.
The petitioners a/k/a parents, claimed that thimerosal, being a mercury compound that breaks down to ethyl mercury, is toxic and kills off brain cells. While doing this, the ethyl mercury does no get used up, and remains in the brain.
If this were so, i.e. that the ethyl mercury keeps on killing off brain cells, then there would be complete neuronal death. That means complete death of all brain cells. Since we know that this is not true, the basic postulate, i.e. that the ethyl mercury kills off brain cells, is false. this would also apply even if ethyl mercury only damaged brain cells, since not all brain cells are damage. You see, the signs and symptoms of mercury poisoning are not the same as the signs and symptoms of autism.
For this to happen as claimed by the petitioners, there would have to be some mechanism that shuts off the alleged effect of ethyl mercury, and, this has never been shown. Interestingly, if ethyl mercury effects are shut off, then there is no reason to chelate.
But, do not listen to me. Read all of the three decisions.
Now, about the 14 Murdered Monkey Study you refer to. The lead “researcher” was none other than the discredited Andy WAKEFIELD, WHO HAS BEEN SHOWN TO FALSIFY RESEARCH. His original study, the one the Lancet yanked, was never duplicated. The 14 Murdered Monkey Study had other problems. The main one being that the sample size is way too small.
So, on Friday, march 12, 2010, the question of whether Thimerosal cause autism has been put to rest. It does no.t
Time to look elsewhere, and spend the money directly helping families as the Special Master Hastings suggests.
How is this possible, with out rewriting
history of pinks from the 1900 1950’s.
It was not even vaccineal mercury then, it was a lesser form ingested
This is proof that there is a susceptible
group, and has been since the early 1900’s
She is lieing!!!!!
From the history of pinks.
Clearly, if mercury was responsible for the disease, it could not be
simple poisoning, or all exposed children would suffer in a dose related
manner; the children who became ill must be excessively sensitive to the
poison (idiosyncrasy). In fact, only 1 in 500 children exposed to the teething powders developed the disease
I guess Special Master Denise K. Vowell
is now rewriting history now.
Here are her words.
She also dismissed claims that some groups of children are unusually susceptible to the effects of mercury. “The only evidence that these children are unusually sensitive is the fact of their [autism] itself.”
she is bald face lieing, to save their buts. They have no studies left that
were not predetermined, and even those have been debunked. The large populace VSD studies were debunked by the NIEHS, now the Denmark studies are found to be fraudulent. There is only one left,
A tox study that the results reached
is not even possible. Keeping the MSDS
in mind; The MSDS states that Thimerosal is accumulative in the body, also it targets the organs of the body in particular the brain and the lining around the brain. And it crosses the
BBB easier than doe’s the fish mercury
That statement from the MSDS alone is enough to win the Thimerosal litigation
In other words, she like the IOM did
what they were ordered to do. Lie to
the American public.
Recently the secretary of health and human services in an interview with Readers Digest admitted Kathleen Sebelius Pressured Media to Deny Vaccine Safety Voices. because all the studies have proven and continue to prove that vaccines are safe.
I must say she got what she wanted, because the Denmark scandal has not hit our shores yet. You would think a CDC paid researcher stealing millions, and forging documents is and should be as they say Breaking news!.
(So much for freedom of the press)
Joseph Goebbels NAZI propagandist under HITLER his Quotes are being deployed
in full force by the vaccine Nazis.
Another Quote from Goebbels that seems very much in play today
The brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”
Sort of like Paul Offit’s famous QUOTE;
“vaccines, don’t cause autism” ! ! !
Joseph Goebbels NAZI propagandist
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”
No, the Special master is not lieing. YOUR problem is that in your all consuming anger at having what you feel is a “defective” child, you have lost all reason. There is no logical comparison between “pinks” and Thimerosal in vaccines because 1) toxicity is dose related 2) manner of injestion is different 3) bodily clearances are different (just to name three valid reasons why you are wrong).
Do spend some time reading the descionS with an open mind. You apparnetly read Howell’s looking for reasons to reject it.
And, get help for yourself. You do need counseling and family support.
Joey, the Philadelphia Inquirer, for one, has covered the Denmark matter. Even if everything that is said about the one researcher is true, it still does not mean a damn thing because 1) there was 9 other authors, 2) the raw data has been looked at by other and the finding have been confirmed, 3) numerous other population based epidemiological studies have produced the exact same results and 4) there is not plausible biological mechanism that would support a vaccine-autism link.
Just one more thought. For years during the 1990’s the anti-vaccination liars used austim as their scaremonger point to promote their nefarious agenda. They came up withthe false idea that there is an epidemic and “proved” it by citing the increasin caseloads of the California Department of Disability Services. David Kirby, one of the moutpieces and propagandists for them even claimed that when thimerosal was removed c. 2000, the numbers would go down.
Guess what? The numbers did not go down. They kept increasing at the same rate inspite of the removal of thimerosal. This also disproves any link.
Like I said, get help for your anger. Time to move on.
free you said there is not plausible biological mechanism that would support
a vaccine-autism link
There was, the IOM said just that in 2001
the next step was casualty. The IOM in 2004, was told that they were to put all their confidence in the large populace studies and pay less attention to the biological evidence. Free you only tell someone not to look at something, when you are afraid of what that something is and what it could do to your careers.
If the biological evidence was bad, they the CDC would have had no problem letting the IOM look at it. That’s just common sense.
Since then the large populace VSD studies were found to be USELESS the NIH/NIEHS
That is their words, not mine!
And as for their interpretation of the Denmark studies,
The panel ordered by the powerful House appropriations committee said that they were an improvement over the two Denmark studies.
Then the panels lead researcher said;
“That leaves the CDC with very little
to say that vaccines and autism are not
connected in anyway”.
So at best, we have improvement over useless for Denmark. But with the CDC
scandel you know the researcher 2nd in charge on the Lam for committing fraud and forgery taking 2 million of dollars from the CDC that may I remind you is TAX payer money. It seems that the panel was right, the Denmark study was worse than useless. If at all that is possible.
And you are defending this joke, that they call vaccine safety.
You’ve got to be kidding!
At that time, they were afraid of the Deth study and they wanted the IOM to rule before the Deth study was published.
At the IOM meeting the person from the vaccine commission said;
This is from the actual minutes of the IOM meeting
Dr. McCormick, for example, in speaking of the CDC, “noted that the
agency
“wants us to declare, well, these things are pretty safe on a
population
basis.” (See Exhibit 1 at page 33).
It is later stated that what Walt wants Walt generally gets”
she was speaking of Walter A. Orenstein, M.D.. Director, Emory Vaccine Policy and. Director of the vaccine commission for
the CDC.
I don’t believe ordering someone to not find causation, qualifies for sound good quality robust science.Still the question must be in your mind did they do what they were ordered to do, ( you be the judge )
Also from the minutes of the IOM
“We’ve got a dragon by the tail here,” states a committee member in the
transcript. “At the end of the line, what we know is - and I agree -
that
the more negative that presentation [the report] is, the less likely
people
are to use vaccination, immunization, and we know what the results of
that
will be. We are kind of caught in a trap. How we work our way out of
the
trap, I think, is the charge.”
Their findings was that there was no causation, and don’t look at vaccines again put your money were you will get more bang for your buck. But that is not what is reflected in the minutes. You see you would not be caught in a trap, unless you found something. And you most certainly don’t have to work your way out of something your not in.
So it’s not hard to see how the NIEHS came to their conclusion that the Flagship studies were en effect useless. If that doe’s not convince you they were dishonest maybe this will.
When byron child asked CDC spokesperson Curtis Allen for a copy of the
contract that would detail the agreement between the IOM and the CDC,
Allen Spokesperson for the CDC
stated that the contract would be available only in a heavily
“redacted” or
blacked-out format.
Notice the IOM is not denying the leaked minutes “just saying no comment!”
You see, we should be worried about someone thinking the IOM report was
being manipulated enough to LEAK out
the minutes.
The IOM stated “no comment” to byron child about the leaked transcript
or its
use in the pending civil court case.
Truth is not relevant to these people! Even though it’s written out side (engraved on National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, D.C., location of NIH & IOM)
(These words)
“The right to search for truth implies also a duty; one must not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be true.” quote from Albert Einstein,
Their best defence on toxicological had to bail on them, because he would be committing purgery because of a paper he had written long ago.
When the Pichichero report said better than we thought it clears the blood quicker 3 to 7 days their own NIH paid for researcher came back to haunt them.
Not so fast, says Thomsas Brubacher, M.D., a scientist who studies the biological effects of ethyl mercury on primates. “Just because it came out of the blood doesn’t mean it is excreted from the body. It could have gone to the brain. In primates, you actually get more mercury in the brain after exposure to ethyl mercury than with methyl mercury - it has an easier time crossing the blood brain barrier.” (than does the fish mercury)
A deposition from Sigma Aldrich where a officer from the co. was being questioned the attorney asked what does Thimerosal
do in the body he said it “TARGETS THE
ORGANS OF THE BODY IN PARTICULAR THE BRAIN AND THE LINING AROUND THE BRAIN”
I said it once, and I will say it again.
What the hell is something that “Targets
the organs of the body, the brain and the lining around the brain doing in our
children’s vaccines!
Considering they were warned 2 times about the toxicity of this product 1948 and again in 1982 This from 1948 was before the AMA sold their souls to big pharma
study from 1948? Dr. Engleys AMA blue ribbon panel findings “We found thimerosal is toxic down to a level that is almost unbelievable.Down to 1.10, maybe 100 nanograms…a millionth of a gram and that is about
as toxic as you can get,” he said.”
Also
It is clear from this research supported by a grant from the American Medical Association that Thimerosal is neither efficacious nor safe, and should be removed as a
preservative in prescription biologics and pharmaceutical products, as well as from topical over-the-counter products such as Butt-Balm that have Thimerosal present in their formulations as an active ingredient.
Just before he died Dr. Engleys last quote and most important
“if they had followed through on our 82 report the vaccines would have been freed of thimerosal and all this autism they tell me would not have occurred”
The CDC, FDA, AAP, NIH, everybody
was warned, they have no excuse except arrogance and Greed incompetence and stupidity. Like the song goes from the
group KANSAS “how long to the point of
no return”! As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of
the Son of Man. Their hearts and minds were all ways on evil. I can think of no greater evil than sacrificing your own children for the almighty Dollar.
You have most defiantly won! HHS CDC FDA NIH AAP I concede you can make as many children as sick as you want, poison them
to your hearts content. And when you have poisoned the very last child, get ready to spend 3.2 million to 5 million each to take care of them.
It will cost Trillions for your mistake. also al-Qaida could not have poisoned the children of America with the precision that you have. “Congratulations”
Like I said, you won the right to
keep poisoning millions of children.
Who going to stop you now that you wore the parents down.
The president Ha!
the Congress Ha Ha!
The Senate Ha Ha Ha!
God, nope! He will just ask why you
did this. As he sentences you to life
in HELL.
All of your issues would be answered if you read all three decisions and attempted to understand the discussion of neuronal death/damage.
Thimerosal is safe and effective. Period.
I hope the readers are as alarmed as I am, that you do not have a problem with your CDC AAP FDA and NIH behaving like thugs from organized crime. And poisoning our children.
Here is a little more on the Denmark lie
from a CDC email received from the FOIA
act. CDC/Denmark e-mails like this: are the proof the CDC is lieing.
“Sent: Wednesday, November 13, 2002 5:33 AM
“Dear Poul, Kreesten and Diane Schendel
“Attached I send you the short and long manuscript about Thimerosal and autism in Denmark. [sentences redacted]
“I need to tell you that the figures in the manuscript do not include the latest data from 2001. I only have these figures as a paper version and they are at work [words redacted]. But the incidence and prevalence are still decreasing in 2001. [sentence redacted]
“I look forward to hear from you again.
“Best regards”
It is impossible for the rate to go up in
Denmark, when this email plainly says it was going down after the removal of the product Thimerosal from the Vaccines.
Joe, I feel sorry for you, and you child. Please accept your child as is, and move on. You are so angry. Get help.
Reputations were also staked in the 1930-40’s on the value of the lobotomy but look how that turned out. Should anyone care that it was a Kennedy child rather than someone else’s?
Security and safety are priorities that aren’t properly classified as that in the eye of the beholder. They are scientific facts, to be established or not, according to the facts of inquiry. Of course, if no inquiry is ever made, it’s easy to establish scientific legitimacy. The FDA exists for a reason, or should not be paid at all just like the SEC. They exist for creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards, or there is no reason for them except as a smokescreen, paid for presenting the facade - just like government.
