The U.S. Treasury sanctioned two Gaza firms for their ties to Hamas.

The Treasury announced Thursday it would impose sanctions on the Islamic National Bank and Al-Aksa Television, Reuters reported.

Under the sanctions, Americans are prohibited from doing business with the companies. The Treasury also will seek to freeze any assets the firms have in the United States.

The Islamic National Bank is operating outside the legitimate financial system in Gaza, and Al-Aksa television is financed and controlled by Hamas and used to promote suicide bombing among Palestinian children, according to the Treasury, Reuters reported.
