It has been a couple of weeks since I recapped Celebrity Apprentice. I watch it, but must tell you writing about it has been hard. There is simply no reason for this show to be two hours long. It is slow, drags along, and has so many annoying celebrities that it’s painful. By celebrities of course I mean some people who used to be famous, and one in particular, Aubrey O’Day, who is more famous in her own mind than in reality..
So here I am, with another episode coming on Sunday, so I much catch up with a double blog. I am going to speed through the last two weeks so I am ready to go on Sunday night. In the interest of full disclosure, let me state a couple of things up front: I love Teresa. I also think Debbie is a bitch, Aubrey is an idiot, Clay is mean, Lou needs to go, and am certain the reason the men don’t like Penn is because of penis envy. Okay, let’s go!
The task from March 18 is to create a video for a mop. Lou is going to lead the men and Tia is PM for the women. Lou needs to go home. He’s annoying, which is a shame because he’s also lovely, but I liked him more when I knew nothing about him. Tia has no shot in hell because Aubrey the vulture is going to eat her alive. Normally vultures wait until you are dead, but Aubrey is dumb and evil so she is going to eat her in front of everyone.
The women are going to focus on making something sexy, and the men are going for funny. Lisa comes up with the theme for the women and it’s about comparing how many lovers you’ve had to how many mops you have had. Dayana is a perv and it’s fabulous. With the men, Lou wants to be a super hero but Penn is not into it. Penn is smart, funny, charming, still famous, and probably wears a size 17 shoe, so the men don’t dig him.
Clay feels like everyone, Penn, is setting Lou up to fail, so he let’s everyone know. Does Clay color his hair? The orange looks a little clownish. Why does he wear so much makeup? There is no way this guy is not in full makeup with a double dose of blush. I know people love him, but he’s mean. Is it just me or is does anyone else think Clay is the Barry Manilow of his generation? They are one in the same to me.
Tia refuses to do anything Aubrey suggests which is awesome. Aubrey is horrific. From her hair, to her clothes, to her attitude, to her whorish make-up, there is nothing cool about this ridiculous girl. The men refuse to do anything Penn says and it’s very high school mean girl. Clay and Arsenio are forming an alliance as if they are on Survivor and it’s hilarious. By hilarious of course I mean lame. Grow up boys.
Aubrey seems to think this is her show. She got fired by Diddy, and is going to get fired here. Dayana realizes the actual product they are supposed to be selling, a mop, is not mentioned anywhere in their video and rather than tell Tia, the other women just whisper about it. I appreciate these are “famous” people and the egos are of epic proportion, but their insecurities dwarf their egos.
Sidebar: All the Trump children are clones of their dad. It is really fascinating to watch Donald Jr. because he is so much like his dad. I like the Trump kids. Well I did like them all until I found out Donald Jr. and Eric are murderers. Their killing spree in Africa was disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves. Killing animals for sport can damage your image boys. Just ask Sarah Palin.
Debbie Gibson gets friendly with Aubrey and together they give me a severe lower back pain. They are impossible to watch individually, so together it’s overwhelming. Tia sees Aubrey and Debbie have not included Dayana and asks them to include her, so Lisa looses her mind. She does not think everyone needs to be included. She is painfully jealous of how beautiful Dayana is and it’s ugly.
Lisa is a lunatic and a raging bitch. She may be a comedienne but she is not happy. She goes off on a tangent and makes a fool of herself. With the men, Penn is still sulking because the boys don’t like him. Clay explains to Penn it’s not personal, but Penn is paranoid. This show brings out the inner mean girl in everyone, male and female. Clay’s blush is distracting and I can’t hear what he is saying.
The women finally give Dayana a task, and it is to order flowers. She is told to order red peonies, but her accent makes it sound like she is ordering penises. We are relying on penis jokes for entertainment? Come on Trump. Make this show an hour. The men present their video and it’s crap. The women present their video and it’s crap. I would not watch either one of these videos online.
O-Cedar has been around for 100 years and Celebrity Apprentice just crapped all over them by making pure garbage. We are now in the boardroom and there are still 45 minute to go. Everyone is bickering, throwing each other under the bus, and it is simply not entertaining. It’s the same 45 minutes every week and I’m bored. This is what makes it so hard to blog about. It’s too predictable.
I’m sure if I watched 45 minutes of the boardroom I would find some blogging gold, but I can’t do it. It’s embarrassing to the celebrities that they are behaving like children, and embarrassing to Trump because he is fawning over people I doubt he even knows. In the end the men win. Important to note that Trump trying to psych out the men into thinking they lost is absolutely pitiful.
Aubrey is being nasty and the meaner she becomes the more Trump flirts with her. Everyone is saying Dayana is the weakest player, but Tia should be fired. Then in an attempt to save her friend, Patricia says Teresa is the weakest link. I love Teresa so this chick better step off. Aubrey says she is young and fresh, and Tia is old and lame. Tia is fired and we are onto the next episode.
The task from March 25 is to plan a party for Crystal Light. Aubrey O’Vey is leading the women and Clay is leading the men. Aubrey should seriously consider changing her last name to O’Vey! Aubrey kisses ass of the Crystal Light execs and Clay tries to make a joke about Aubrey that includes sex and stripper pole but it falls flat. He is awkward when discussing women is cute.
Crystal Light wants something fun so the men go for the fun, but the women are not quite getting it and are doing a Garden of Eden theme. Penn is still sulking about last week, Aubrey is the boss and Teresa is stepping up to the plate because she knows how to throw a party. Debbie is singing. Again. Does she really think a Crystal light jingle is going to get her a world tour?
Patricia says working with Lisa and Aubrey is the most damaging human behavior she has ever seen in her entire life and while I am not exactly sure why, I think it is the funniest thing I have ever heard. Penn is trying to be a team player but Clay is thrilled he is gone. Clay has an evil laugh when it comes to Penn, which I find entertaining. Watching them plan reminds us the show should be an hour.
The men throw Penn under the bus with Ivanka, and Aubrey is flirting with Donald Jr. in a totally creepy way. Patricia blames all of the ladies losses on Aubrey and Lisa. Clay is going to sing at their party and think what you want about this man, but he can really sing. Cut to Debbie singing her jingle and I want to slit my wrists. There is not enough wine in my house to allow me to listen.
Sidebar: Clay is clean shaven for the entire task, up to the time they are setting up the room, yet when the party starts he has a beard. Really? We all know these reality shows are fake, but when there are mistakes in editing that are so clear, you simply have to laugh at how silly these shows are and laugh at ourselves that we all watch them and love them.
The men’s party looks like a blast but the women’s party looks boring. Pretty, but boring, Then Debbie sings and I cannot take it. I need her to go. Clay sings at his party and it’s fabulous. I need him to go too, but he can sing. Once again we are forced into a 45 minute boardroom. Aubrey is certain she won and Patricia tells Trump the team was awesome which we know she does not really think.
Lisa says she is 99% sure they won and so you know they are going to lose. Trump asks Gibson to sing and I want to punch him in the face. Trump is flirting with Aubrey so I need to skip over it for fear I might choke on my own vomit. The men are united, Arsenio wears a Trump tie for bonus points, and I am praying this show was only an hour. It would be killer if they cut out 60 minutes of crap.
The men win. They are thrilled and the women are shocked. Aubrey is crying and I feel the need to punch something. Aubrey tells trump he will break her heart if they lose, and he tells her heart is broken because they lost. Perfection. Then Trump wrecks the whole thing by giving her charity $10K. Really? Just because she cried does not mean she should get the money. Nice for charity, but not fair.
The firing process is stupid in a regular episode, but to have it with Aubrey crying is too much. Patricia is fired. She complained to the camera in private but kept her mouth shut in the boardroom so good she is gone. A double blog is exhausting but I’m caught up! The good news is the preview for this week looks brilliant. I could be wrong, but either way I’ll watch, I’ll blog, and always keep it real.

The cast & crew of the fake boat trip. It’s been a week since Bethenny’s “Lost at Sea” episode aired. I sat in amazement at what I was saw. If you read my blog on a regular basis you know that I used to love Bethenny but now find her to be the single most annoying reality television personality in America. She is, in my opinion, a pathological liar so wrapped up in her lies, she no longer knows the truth.
I actually feel very bad for Bethenny. Had she not built her career on a pile of lies, she would have been a beloved figure because she was the little girl who could. The problem is that she fabricated stories to get attention and sympathy, and when after years of trying to become famous, she finally made it but the lies had already started to unravel her credibility.
She talks a lot about her horrific childhood and her unfit parents, yet the only people who corroborate her stories are on her payroll. She has a shady past in terms of the authenticity of her stories, which is fascinating because of the three people who can set the record straight, one is dead, one is unstable, and one is hiding. I’m speaking of her dad, mom and step-dad.
Bethenny talked for months leading up to the episode about how they almost died. After her claims of being lost and needing the USCG to help her, I spoke with both the Coast Guard and Tim Russell, the boat captain who “saved” her, and it quickly became clear that Bethenny had lied. When I wrote about how she fabricated the story, she placed a gag order on the boat captain.
It would appear, having now seen the episode, that Bethenny has had a change of heart. It is obvious that they were never in real danger. Her lies are clear and so I imagine that is why she has been focusing on humiliating her husband and faking the end of her marriage. If people feel sorry for her, will they overlook the blatant lying and manipulation of her fans?
I watch this show because I find her lies fascinating and am truly amazed by not only how she treats her husband, but by the fact that he seems to be okay with it. He is humiliated, his family is disrespected, and he stays. He is either a fame whore, has no balls, or perhaps has a girlfriend/boyfriend on the side and really does not care about it that much because he’s rich.
This fantastically scripted episode starts with Jason returning after he stormed off not wanting to go. They get on the helicopter and head out to their therapy session. We meet the other couple that is going with them, and they seem lovely. Nobody knew they were even there all these months so one can assume there was a gag order there too.
Jason is not into it, Bethenny is scowling, and the fake therapist is annoying. They are going out for a few hours of team building and I am laughing. This show is truly ridiculous and if we view it as a comedy we can laugh. Not because it’s funny, but because it’s so stupid, it’s actually hilarious. Bethenny is doing her stand up routine but no one is even listening to her.
The boat is on the way. The fake doctor is talking to Jason and it’s silly. Jason is laughing all the way to the bank and the fake doctor is looking off into the distance wondering if this gig will get him his own show. He is dreaming about fame and fortune and its lame. This doctor is unethical, not helpful, and selling his soul to the devil for fifteen minutes.
The metaphors about sailing and marriage is funny, but the added dramatic music and shots of Bethenny looking out over the vast ocean is simply too much. How can anyone take this show seriously? It is scripted by people who are paid to write whatever Bethenny tells them. This show is fake and you have to wonder about the stability of those who defend her.
Bethenny spoke for months about how they could have starved because there was no food, yet she is making dinner in the kitchen. There is ample food, enough for days, yet she wanted us to think there was nothing. Bethenny is cooking, Jason is seasick, the other couple is irrelevant, and Bethenny is complaining that Jason is not helping her cook dinner.
Jason is resting and everyone else is enjoying their dinner. The dinner that Bethenny told us never happened. The other couple is talking about their relationship and it inspired Bethenny to go talk to Jason. So he is on the bed sick, Bethenny and the doctor are talking to him about serious stuff. Jason is nauseous so why does she think he gives a crap about talking.
Everything is once again traced back to Bethenny’s horrible childhood. I have my own opinions about her childhood so no need to rehash that, but at what point is she going to take responsibility for who she is an adult and stop blaming all of her problems and character flaws on her childhood and her parents? We get that you suffered, blah, blah, blah. Move on already.
Jason is defending his parents, again, and Bethenny says she is letting them into her life but it takes time. Really? She has known them longer than she has known Julie, yet is nicer to her paid friend than she is to the grandparents of her child. Just when I think I cannot watch this show for another minute, the lies start to unravel and I am back in.
The fake doctor is talking about how the GPS is broken so the Coast Guard is finding someone to help guide them in. Important to note that Bethenny said the Coast Guard had to rescue them, and Tim Russell, the captain who eventually came to get them, confirmed that the GPS was in fact not broken. It was all faked for television and they were never in danger.
Bethenny was in fear of her life, yet the episode shows it was never true. The other couple has gone to bed for the night and one must wonder, if you were in danger of dying would a caption not wake up his passengers and tell them what is happening? The fake doctor is clearly explaining to Bethenny the Coast Guard is sending someone to help them get back.
Bethenny told Ellen that the Coast Guard had to come and save them. It is a lie. The Coast Guard was NEVER coming because they were NEVER in any danger. We hear the USCG tell the fake doctor a towboat is coming. The boat coming is Tim Russell. It is a calm sea, the sun is shining, and everyone got a good sleep. Where is the big emergency Bethenny?
How can you take this woman or her show seriously? She lied about this trip for months, and hurt an innocent man in the process. It takes the Coast Guard hours to get someone to come out and help them, but they fail to tell us it’s because everyone refused to go out an help them because it was fake, there was no danger, and it would be a waste of their time.
Tim Russell was told she was a big star, and could he come out. He thought the whole thing sounded fishy, lol, but he went because at the end of the day he would have been upset had they somehow really needed help. He headed out with his wife along for the ride, and for being a decent guy, Bethenny took a crap all over him. Her selfishness has no bounds.
They get to the dock and Bethenny does not acknowledge or thank Mr. Russell. Jason shakes his hand, but nothing from Bethenny. He “saved” her, she offers to sleep with him to show her gratitude, but does not have the common courtesy to acknowledge him. Could it be that she did, and it was edited out? Was Mr. Russell humiliated for talking to the press?
Thet leave the dock and life goes on. After months of a build up to their horror at sea, there was no footage to create the story she had told, so they had to go with what they had, which was nothing. I think the weeks of fighting leading up to this episode was all faked to take the attention off of the lost at sea fiasco. She dug a hole and crawled her way out.
All the tabloids are talking about how her marriage is in trouble and not about how she lied about her boat trip, disrespected the United States Coast Guard, and hurt the reputation of an honest working man. I’m thinking of all the crap she puts in her Skinnygirl Margarita, there must be some hallucinogenic included because she drinks a lot and she is delusional.
The fake doctor comes for breakfast and it’s stupid. They are skimming over her lies so whatever. Next week we will be back to Bethenny blaming her mother for everything bad in her life and the vicious cycle of the lies of Bethenny will continue. I’ll be watching because it’s a train wreck you cannot look away from. Nothing about Bethenny is keeping it real.

Golnesa "GG" GharachedaghiWe start off with the final moments of the Vegas trip for Reza’s birthday. Everyone is packed and ready to go except for MJ, who has not even started to pack. You have to love MJ. I have not figured her out yet but we know she is a sloppy drunk and seems to have absolutely no sense of time. She is a classic spoil rich girl, with equal parts funny and loyal.
Everyone is bagging on GG and MJ is sticking up for her. We learn that GG has left Vegas on her own, which I think is silly and dramatic, but also something I would do. I’m bailing before I stay somewhere that is not comfortable for me. Reza, Anita and Asa are all talking bad about GG and frankly it’s not cute. It’s rude and Asa is a bitch about it.
MJ is having lunch with GG back home. GG is so pretty. One must wonder however how she manages to walk around with such a heavy chip on her shoulder. To compare Vegas to high school seems like a little bit of a cop out, but if that’s how she feels then good for her that she is owning it. MJ is trying to make sure everything gets worked out.
What I like about MJ is that she is a girls girl. She wants peace and values her relationships with girlfriends above relationships with men. She is strong and feisty, while still appearing to be a little lazy. GG is trying to build a touch girl image, yet she is super sensitive and looks like she might cry any moment. She is vulnerable which adds to her beauty.
The bottom line here is that these are real relationships. I have the peacemaker friend, the tough girl friend, and like Asa, the troublemaker friend. Its reality television so one can assume it‘s scripted to some degree, but the characters that we meeting seem real to me.
Sammy is working on a project for Mohammed who we know as Lisa’s friend and Pandora’s fake Godfather on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. He seems like an interesting guy but come on. Cut your hair and get a girlfriend that is not a child. You look silly.
There is the mandatory naked Mike shot so can I get an Amen? This is a nice looking guy. He is trying hard to rebuild his career after it collapsed in Vegas. Sidebar: As he leaves his apartment his kisses the Mezuzah which I loved. That they are openly Jewish in a real way, matters.
Sidebar: There are different levels of Judaism, but when it comes to TV, the most popular Jew is a “Seinfeld” Jew. We all know they are Jewish because it’s implied, but they never really do anything to prove they are Jewish. From that perspective, kissing a Mezuzah is a big deal.
We’re spending time with Asa and seriously, I just don’t get her. She seems very judgmental of GG which is weird since there is no way her music is paying for her Benz, her house, or her diamond water. She appears to be supported by her daddy so why so much hate to GG?
Asa is very pretty. She has an interesting vibe about her that I find both authentic and fake. I want to spend time with her, yet find her not trustworthy. She is intimidating somehow which is odd because she is also very peaceful. It’s going to take me a little longer to get her.
Reza and MJ are at work, they are fun together, and I like their friendship. MJ is real which you have to love. She is traumatized by her parents divorce and trying to a build a life void of men, but she’d be a fun girlfriend. You would be on your toes, never knowing what she will do.
Reza is a shark when showing a property, while MJ sells like she could care less. I personally like MJ’s style because she makes me feel like it will be okay, but I like Reza because if I buy the house he will be my friend and we’ll hang out. Combined they are the perfect real estate agent.
Mike learns the deal he was working on is not going to close and it’s sad. He seems like a good guy but it would appear that desperation is creeping in. He needs to chill, take a deep breath, and know that something good is coming. He works hard and must be patient.
MJ has arranged a meeting between Reza and GG. Reza is pissed that GG was mean to his friend Anita, but it is more than that. She bailed on his birthday party, which is not cool. This scene is tough for me because I am in love with Reza so it will be hard to not take sides on this one.
GG lets us know she has anger issues and has been in therapy. It would appear that GG and Drita are cut from the same cloth. GG is perfect on the outside and cracked on the inside, which is sad. I really like her and hope she can reign it in because a man won’t handle it well.
Unless she hooks up with a mob boss! He might find her loose cannon side to be a turn on. I like GG and hope she manages to let the criticism of her roll off her back. She seems like a sweet girl and while she is perfect reality television, I hope the business does not bite her in the ass.
Mike is out for lunch with his mom and I’m digging it. I want this relationship with my son when he is a man. She seems very sweet but oddly accepting of his slutty ways. I bet it’s all for TV and privately she is loosing her patience and wants to plan a wedding already. Let’s go Mike.
Sammy is at Mohammed’s, but is he wearing an ascot in the interview? I love Sammy. He is a sweet and gentle man. He’s also a shark. He is being paid $30K to watch the house and he is investing the money in getting the job done early with the hope of impressing Mohammed.
Not taking the $30K, when he has said he needs, is the sign of either a genius or a moron. Time will tell which one. Sidebar: Bravo keeps showing commercials for The Real Housewives of New Jersey and let me just say: Oh. My. God! This season may revitalize the franchise.
Reza spends $8000 on champagne and caviar for his party. These people are living large. Reza is unapologetic for his life and it is sexy. The gang is all coming in and it looks like a fun time. Reza is divine, Asa looks beautiful, and Anita is a bitch on rails. Not cool Anita.
GG is keeping her cool and just ignoring her, which is a good thing, but Anita is walking around to everyone at the party complaining about GG and saying how it’s “getting out of hand”. Anita is a troublemaker and pretty or not, needs to check herself because she is a guest, not a Shah.
In the end GG is a lady. She has a temper to be sure, but she is inherently good. She catches herself getting crazed and tries to stop it. Her handling of Anita was really sweet and I think my instincts about GG are right on. She is fabulous and in the end the haters suck it. GG rocks.
I love this show and these people are good television. As the criticism fades, and people realize they are not going anywhere, we can settle in and enjoy the ride. This show gets better with each episode. We never know what is coming, but we know they are keeping it real.

Sammy YounaiI had the opportunity to talk with Sammy this week and I must tell you that I was really surprised by him. I‘m not sure what it was exactly that I was expecting, but it was not what I got. Shahs of Sunset has only been on for a couple of weeks and so it’s hard to say how he will be portrayed over the coming weeks, but speaking with him now, before the fame and madness of reality television really kicks in, I can tell you he is a mensch.
Sammy is both entertaining and thoughtful. He is proudly Jewish, proudly Iranian, and proudly American. He loves him family and to hear him talk about his parents made me melt inside. As a mother I hope my son will speak of me in the same way Sammy speaks of his. He respects his dad, adores his mother, loves his brother, and is fiercely loyal to friends and fellow cast mates on Shahs of Sunset. He’s also no pushover.
Sammy left Iran as a child and moved with his family to Florida. He speaks of his childhood in a nostalgic Leave it to Beaver fashion. He was an oddball in his white bread neighborhood, but he had his brother and parents who taught him the value of work, earning a dollar on his own, and believing that he could do anything he wanted. They gave up their life in Iran to give their kids the American dream and taught them to go after it.
The family moved to Beverly Hills when Sammy was a teenager and the rest is history. With or without the show, he has been a Shah of Sunset since the day he got here. When he was younger he had long hair, rode a Harley, and had no boundaries in terms of how big he dreamed. At 15 Sammy’s dad told him he should get a job so Sammy went to work and didn’t look back. He has a strong work ethic and does not want anything handed to him.
He has done everything from parking cars at a Hollywood restaurant, to retail and real estate. He is also educated, articulate, and insightful. He feels like he is prepared for the onslaught of press, the adoration from some, and hate from others. He has surrounded himself with good and loyal friends he has known for a long time. They loved him before the show and they will love him after. Depending on editing of course.
Sammy told me a story of friendship that moved me. Back in Iran, Sammy’s dad was best friends with a Muslim man who was on the police force. They were life long friends and in business together. The revolution sent the Younai family to America and his friend went to Germany. They maintained a friendship and a bond until the day his friend passed away from cancer in Germany. They both lived through two lifetimes together.
When the man died, his son was in Germany and not sure what to do. He made his way to America and became business partners with Sammy. They signed a hand written contact on a piece of paper. There is no binding contract, only a history and a love. These two families have now been friends and business together for over 65 years. It shows that when it comes to Sammy and his family, their word means something.
When asked why he agreed to do the show, he was reflective. He said when he is 70, sitting around with his wife, children and grandchildren, he will be able to tell them he was on a TV show once. Sammy has had a couple of long term relationships over the years, but nothing that felt like forever. His parents are waiting for him to get married, but don’t pressure. With so many divorces, they want him to wait for the right one.
Sidebar: Sammy has an older brother who is also not married. He does however have a dog. A German Sheppard actually, that he loves. Sammy’s mom is careful not to push her kids into marriage just to get married, but jokes that she is patiently waiting for a grandchild, and has to settle for a German dog. Hilarious. She has been married for over 43 years and is a quintessential Jewish mother.
Sammy wants to get married and have a family. His choice, if given one, is to marry a Jewish girl, but he refers to Jewesses as “tough”. He says there is a sense of entitlement, and he does not want that. He wants to know what she is going to bring to the table. I suggested that perhaps he is dating the wrong type of Jewish girl. Stay away from the princesses Sammy and you’ll have a better shot at finding a Beshert. Trust me.
Sidebar: I am obsessed with the Iranian dish Tahdig. It is rice with crispy potatoes and I have failed at all my attempts to make it. Sammy told me that while his mom is a good cook, and his dad is great, the parents of cast mate Asa make the best Persian food ever. If he knows he is going there to eat, he will not eat for 24 hours prior to have room. Note to self: write a great blog about Asa in order to get invited to family BBQ.
Sammy is connected to his faith and proudly Jewish. His life is busy, but he tries to maintain the customs, which we all know takes some dedication. Every two or three weeks he has a potluck dinner for Shabbat. He and his Jewish friends take turns hosting it. I think it’s a nice thing to do and to hear Sammy talk about it is very sweet. He is proud of the effort and it’s quite charming. He may not be observant, but he observes.
I asked Sammy what three words he would use to describe himself and he said funny, loyal and smart. I don’t know Sammy, but in our time chatting I would agree with his words. This is a sweet man. Important to note that we have only seen two episodes of the Shahs so I reserve the right to call him a pig if needed. This is reality TV after all, and he is a man, so it could be coming. Until then, Sammy is a mensch and he is keeping it real.

Tom BergeronI love this show. I adore Tom Bergeron, like blogging about how dumb Brooke Burke Charvet is, am a closet ballroom dancer, and at the end of the day this show is easy. It is fun, requires no thinking, and it is exciting to see careers long over get a boost. This is good old-fashioned television and while I may not know who all the stars are, I’m in.
There are no eliminations this week. The public humiliation will be delayed for one week so everyone gets another chance to wow us. I am happy about that because I will be going to the taping next week and will get to see everyone before the butchering begins. Here is a look at the stars and their first trip to the ballroom. But before we start….
Tom Bergeron is brilliant. He is a genius when it comes to live television and that he is forced to host this show alongside Brooke is both sad and fantastic. Brooke is pretty to be sure, but come on. Tom should be doing this show on his own. As for the judges, they have their moments, are occasionally funny and interesting, but predictable with nothing new.
Maria Menounos: I don’t get this chick. Her laugh is grating, her personality is annoying, and while beautiful, she is simply unappealing to me. That said, she danced well. If she is supposed to be the young, hot one I think they missed the mark, but it does not matter because she is not staying around long. She is not a star, not interesting, and not one I care about.
Jack Wagner: He looks better in pictures, from far away, than he does up close and personal with the camera. He needs to get an updated haircut. He was a mediocre dancer and if he stays around it will be because of soap fans keeping him there. His dance and his personality were a bit boring, but I want him to stay long enough for us to see Heather Locklear visit.
Donald Dryer: I love this guy and it has nothing to do with the fact that the Green Bay Packers are the greatest football team in the world. He is charming, his kids are adorable, he is fun to watch, and he is really good. What is it with these football players and ballroom dancing? I am going to become a fan of this guy and think he will be in the finals. He got my vote.
Gavin DeGraw: He’s cute and his personality is fun. He is not a great dancer and won’t be around for long, but he was a good choice and I will dig him for as long as he is around. Not sure his fan base is watching this show, so the votes might not be there, and his dancing is not good enough for fans of the show to keep him in. His visit will be short and sweet.
Roshon Fegan: I have no idea who this kid is, but he is this year’s mandatory Disney star. He is sweet enough, but really? He is a good dancer but there was nothing ballroom about his dance. He is really young but I just don’t care. He will be a fan favorite with the kids, and get better over time, but he is a wild card. No vote from me on this one.
Sherri Shepherd: She is cute, over the top, funny, and will be a fan favorite. She is going to enjoy this more than anyone because she wanted to do it forever. She is reminiscent of Neicy Nash, and will be good fun. You can’t watch and not get sucked into her happiness. She looked pretty but sidebar: I think she is in serious need of breast reduction. I voted for her.
Melissa Gilbert: I grew up watching her but it is fascinating to me that she is leaning on Little House on the Prairie jokes 40 years later. She is a little annoying and while I think she was hoping to be the Jennifer Grey of this season, that is just not happening Half Pint. She’ll get some fan votes, but it won’t last. Nice to see her, but she can go now.
William Levy: This man is beautiful and the best thing to come out of Cuba since the cigar. He really is very attractive both in looks and personality. He is quite easy to look at and he will be around for the duration. I can sit through all the mediocre dancers to get to this guy and I am anxiously awaiting the day he takes his shirt off. Amen.
Martina Navratilova: She is not very girly, but I just loved her on this show. She seems so nice and I think she looked pretty. She did a good job and I found myself cheering her on. Female athletes have the stamina but not the polish, so we’ll see how long she lasts. In the end I am a fan of hers and was not sure I would be. She got a vote from me.
Katherine Jenkins: I have no idea who this chick is, but she is great looking, has a killer body, and is a really good dancer. She looked beautiful and if people can focus on the dancing not the popularity, then she will be in for the long haul. I voted for her and think she is more of the hot young one than Maria. She made me want to dance, which is a great thing.
Gladys Knight: I LOVE HER. I have loved Gladys Knight for as long as I can remember. Her music is brilliant and her voice is perfection. She is adorable and the oldest one in the competition. She did a great job and you could tell she was having a blast, which is awesome. She got votes from me and I am most excited to see her dance in person next week.
Jaleel White: It’s so strange to see him as a man when we continue to see him as a child in reruns. This is a sweet kid and he is going to the finals. He is charming, funny, handsome, smart, and a child actor who managed to come out of it all okay. I loved his routine, and that he did this show for his Momma. I really liked him and he got my vote.
I really do love this show and this season will be great. There are enough interesting and exciting people to make tuning in a pleasure. It takes no effort to watch this show. It is a throw back to what television used to be. Not sure I will blog about it weekly, but I will be watching, dancing around my living room, and keeping it real.

AsaI am not ashamed to tell you that I like this show. It would be a lie, but I am not ashamed. Truth is, I love it. This is a fun, entertaining, mindless and fun romp into lives of a group of friends that happen to Persian. Their religions vary, but that does not matter because being Persian trumps all.
I have written about this show a couple of times and received some harsh criticism. For saying I liked it I was called un-American, a bad Jew, a terrorist, and it was even suggested I shut the hell up and move to Iran. People can certainly be charming. By people of course I mean douchebags.
I am not an idiot. I don’t think is a documentary about of the life of Persians in Los Angeles. It is just entertainment and while not for everyone, quite funny. Remove all political and religious agendas from your view and you’ll see it is simply an hour of silliness with some important lessons thrown in.
Episode two aired tonight and let me just say I still love it. I am no longer going to apologize for thinking this show is funny and the people on it are both interesting and endearing. I am going to watch it and I am going to blog about it. To all the haters I say thanks for sharing, now go suck it.
We start this week planning for a weekend in Las Vegas to celebrate the birthday of Reza. Reza is the break out star in my opinion. He is handsome, charming, articulate, full of one liners, totally quotable, and an openly fabulous gay man. I want to hang out with him because he is awesome.
Reza, MJ and GG are at lunch bagging on Mike’s whore from the pool party, as well as Asa and her wardrobe. They are cackling hens, but it’s harmless and all in good fun. After breakfast Reza talks to his dad and it’s sweet but sad because they are estranged due to his sexuality.
Everyone is getting ready for the trip and we see that MJ is a clotheshorse, and very attached to her things. Reza is a baller, GG needs a stylist to get dressed, and Asa’s home is fabulous. I want to know what it says on the painting behind her bed because it’s really beautiful.
Asa gets picked up first, then GG. There is tension between these two and you can feel it. GG clearly has a chip on her shoulder but we don’t know why because it can’t just be from the last dinner. GG is beautiful and yet insecure, while Asa is her own kind of beauty, and very secure.
Mike is picked up next and GG is going to try to make him jealous. Won’t happen. I was unsure about Asa last week because I did not get her, but 10 minutes into this week I have officially made up my mind about her. She is authentic, real, honest, and someone I would want to know.
The party bus has now picked everyone up and they are on their way to the airport, where they are flying private to Vegas. MJ is hammered, but lets us know she feels sorry for people who have fly commercial. Reza is all about celebrating, and Mike is letting us know he is Mr. Vegas.
On the plane GG is anxiety ridden about flying, and having a moment. By moment of course I mean she is dramatic and pissed off nobody is paying attention to her or her drama. I love GG. She’s got balls, and with a little courage, she will come into her own and be truly fabulous.
The suite they have at the Aria is beyond phenomenal. Everyone is ready to party and you can’t not think this is a fun group. They are all going from room to room checking in on each other and it’s cure. MJ is still drinking and while Sammy is low key in this episode, he is super cute.
Asa looks gorgeous, Reza is divine, and Mike looks like sex. This man is a Persian Jewish Ricky Martin and I want to lick him. Too much? Whatever. He is gorgeous. GG and MJ join the group and I can’t stop laughing. GG is stunning, MJ is hammered and looking like the morning after.
Mike orders Cristal for the table and GG says she likes Dom better. She is a little pretentious which is entertaining. Reza bets her she can’t tell the difference, and then tells the camera he could give her pee and seltzer water and she would think its Dom. I freaking love this show.
The girls are making fun of Reza’s friend Anita, who is stunning, and you know things are going to get ugly. They are now at a club and drinking like there is no tomorrow. GG shows up with her meaningless lover and I don’t get it. He has a nice body but he makes no sense to me.
GG brings him to make Mike jealous and even tells the camera Mike will be insecure when he sees Chris’s body. Turns out Mike actually knows Chris, and he could care less. It’s just too funny. GG is in love with Mike and I get it because I too am in love with Mike. Her plan is an epic failure.
MJ is beyond hammered. She is in the club vomiting on the couch and trying to take her dress off. I know it’s sad to watch someone struggle, but this is seriously funny. MJ is a sloppy and messy drunk but I can’t get enough. Asa has taken it upon herself to take care of her.
Asa does not want Reza to miss his party, so she takes MJ back to the room to babysit. Asa is good people. MJ thinks she lost her phone and purse and when Reza asks her what color it was, she says “expensive”. I want to go to Vegas with MJ, as long as Asa is with us.
Reza puts MJ in the shower and turns the water on to sober her up. Back at the club, the gang parties on without Reza. MJ is now in the bath getting burned by hot water, and I am laughing at her and really hope she is watching and laughing at herself. She is hilarious while sloshed.
In the morning Reza goes in Mike’s room looking where he has hidden his whore, and it is perfection. MJ turns up looking fresh as a daisy after her brutal night, and GG comes in with her boy toy. I don’t get it. He has a nice body, but she can do better. It’s embarrassing.
GG loves Mike and she needs to own it and stop with the games. Reza is praising Asa for taking care of MJ, and it is pissing GG off. GG is not happy unless everyone is focused on GG, but it could be the editing. By editing of course I mean GG is a diva, but that will change soon enough.
GG is a sweet girl who is a love bitch. She is not a bitch normally, only when dealing with love. She needs to send her lover packing, tell Mike she loves him, and get on with it. We’ve all been there and know how she feels. The power of love is strong and they’ll be fine. Be brave GG.
Reza takes GG and Asa to the spa so they can make up and it’s sweet. Reza is a doll. He tells the girls his mother offered him $500K to get married and all I have to say to that, is let’s go Reza. I will marry you because you, and we can have extramarital sex. Win Win and I’m in.
Asa apologizes to GG for the fight at dinner but I don’t think she owed her an apology. GG was a bitch and Asa got caught in the daggers of her love for Mike. I like Asa this week because I understand her more, but I’ve got GG’s back. Love makes you crazy and ready to fight.
Sidebar: I love how everyone kisses on this show. When the men great each other and kiss, I think it’s really great. There is something warm and genuine about it and I must tell you I have started to add the word June after everyone’s name. I am digging this show, and going Persian!
At the pool GG is having a fight with Reza’s friend Anita and it’s lame. GG is picking fights with everyone and I feel bad for Anita. I like it when explaining things to MJ, she goes back and forth between Farsi and English. GG is now officially labeled a bitch. I’m a bitch, it’s all good.
It’s okay for women to be bitchy. She is over the top but I’m sure at some point we’ll see her kind side. We’ll still think she is bitchy, but in the respect way, not unattractive way. I like her energy so I’m sticking by her. By sticking by her of course I mean for one more week.
MJ is once again sporting her curlers. I dig this chick. They go to dinner without GG. She comes late and nobody wants to sit next to her because she is looking for a fight. She takes a seat next to Mike, her Prince Charming, and everyone is ignoring her.
The shut out is on. They are all so immature I feel bad for her. Everyone is fawning over Anita, which is stupid. She is a guest not a star and they are turning their back on GG. MJ is feeling bad about what’s happening, but it’s too little too late. GG leaves the dinner.
It’s drama to be sure, but fabulous. This week we saw Asa in her true light, which is lovely. We learn MJ should not drink so much, and Reza is delicious. We also learned GG needs to mellow out if she wants us to like her. I love this show and will be here next week, keeping it real.

Brennie G.I have interviewed both Brandi Glanville and Jennifer Gimenez. I find them both to be entertaining and interesting. My interviews were conducted over the phone and they were great. There is a reoccurring theme when talking to them, and it is each other. With a friendship spanning 20 years, they have a special bond. By special of course I mean hilarious.
If you didn’t know anything about these two, and met them randomly, you would think they were an old couple who have been married for 50 years. They finish each other’s sentences, answer questions for each other, laugh often, and have inside jokes. There are knowing glances, and language peppered with f bombs. They are my new favorite celebrity couple.
I went to Brandi’s house to meet them both in person for the first time. The meeting was spontaneous as I simply asked them if we could chat and they extended an invitation. Granted I am harmless, and they like my work, but that I was invited to their home was both odd and lovely. These are down to earth women.
I pulled up to the house at the same time as Jennifer. She was coming back from working out, had no make-up on, was wearing work out clothes, and is absolutely beautiful. She is tall, thin, and very warm. She greeted me with a hug and I must tell you, it felt personal, not like a Hollywood fake hug. I don’t know what it is about this girl, but she is powerful.
Maybe because she looks more like my mother more than I do, or maybe because she is just an open human being, but I feel like I know her in a way I can’t quite understand. She is very aware of herself, and puts forth an energy that makes you feel like she’s got your back. There is a reason this woman keeps rising to the top. She is a star and can’t be kept down.
We walked to the house together and let me just say when Brandi opened the door I was intimidated for a second. This is a beautiful woman. It’s almost unnatural. Her body is quite simply, rocking. She also hugged me and it was with ease and comfort. She feels like an old friend because there is nothing pretentious about her. She is real, sweet and very, very tall.
Brandi is very much a mom. I was not in her house for more than a minute when she was offering food and drink. There was no saying no either. She was going to feed me, and make me drink a little something. I should have taken my laundry over because she would have washed it, folded it, and wrapped it in a bow. Brandi is a mom first, and you feel it instantly.
These chicks must do yoga because it required some serious bending for them to get down low enough to hug my 5’3” self. I settled into the land of the Amazons and spent the next four hours hanging out with the girls. We spoke about their friendship, and why it has endured for so long. They have a love for each other that is inspiring, sincere, and heavy with history.
We gathered on the couch and the fun began. Before we got to chatting Brandi let us know she got a splinter. Jen went to get tweezers, and removed it. It was huge actually and must have really hurt. They never once stopped their banter. They just kept on going. Chatting, poking fun at each other, and joking that she could have lost her finger. These chicks are funny.
They have known each for 20 years and met at a fashion show they were both walking in. Brandi had seen Jen on the cover of Allure and went over to say hello and tell her she loved it. Jennifer not only dismissed her, but told everyone else to dismiss her too. Jennifer knew of Brandi because they had dated the same guy, and Jen was not into her.
Brandi was a new model, Jen was already a supermodel, and the brush off was a little shocking to Brandi. She was small town sweet, while Jen was already a jetsetter. They crossed paths a few more times and eventually became friends. Really good friends. Jennifer was a bridesmaid in Brandi’s wedding, and Brandi led Jennifer to the light when she was in darkness.
Lots of things can define a friendship between women, and for these two their history is certainly important. Twenty years is a long time in a regular life, but these girls are not regular. They are ordinary women who have led extraordinary lives, and their bond transcends a simple friendship. They are connected forever, in profound ways, and are fiercely loyal to each other.
When Jen was struggling with addiction, Brandi stood by her. People in her life told her to let Jen go because she could not help her, but Brandi never did it. She knew she might not be able to help her, but she was going to try, and she was not going to let her go. She was a new wife, with a baby, but she was going to hang onto Jennifer and if nothing else, just be there waiting.
When Jen hit rock bottom, it was Brandi who got her somewhere safe. Brandi partnered with Jen’s mom Nelly, and together they hung on to a woman many had left behind. It has defined their relationship because it established Brandi in a mother role with Jen. She was the Momma bear, protecting her cub at all costs. She was invested and not turning back.
Years later, when Brandi was faced with leaving her marriage, it was Jen who became the mom. Brandi had young children and a husband who was cheating in a public and hurtful way when Jen stepped in. She picked up her friend and helped get her footing back. While one would think that addiction and divorce have nothing in common, they actually do.
They are places of complete darkness. You become exhausted, and no matter how many things are good in your life, it can make you want to give up. Pain is pain and no matter how you get there, getting out of it is difficult. In defining moments in the lives of these women, they led each other from the darkness to the light and it has created great love.
They interact like two halves of the same person. They finish each others sentences, give knowing glances to each other, and each thinks the other one tells stories better. They are sisters by choice, not by obligation. They constantly give each other advice even though they rarely take it. They have a very grown up relationship in terms of rules.
Nothing is off limits. They can scream at each other in one moment and when it’s done, it’s over, they are hugging, and life goes on. There is no judgment, no fear, and no pressure. As I watched them interact I found myself laughing often, but also in a bit of awe. These women have been to hell and back, both alone and with each other, and you can feel the power of their history.
They are supportive of other, but their banter is like a classic comedy routine. It’s not bickering as much as it’s the way they remember things. There are clearly two sides to every story and in their case, both sides are heartfelt, funny and caring. These chicks are like Lucy and Ethel, or as some Twitter followers suggested, Laverne and Shirley, or perhaps Thelma and Louise.
When Jennifer was in the depths of her battle with addiction, Brandi did not leave her. When Brandi was going through the end of marriage and public humiliation of a cheating husband, Jen was there. They take turns being the mother figure to each other and have been blessed that in their 20 year love affair, they have never hit the bottom at the same time.
Brandi is very funny and let me say again, prettier than anyone has a right to be. This chick is smoking. She is the glue that has always kept her friends together, and the divorce took its toll on her friendships. Some people left, and now that she is famous in her own right, some are trying to come back. Bridges have been burned, her feelings have been hurt, but she has Jen.
Sidebar: Brandi told me her family is proud of her and get a kick out of her being on television. Her nieces are convinced she is a Kardashian, which I think is freaking hilarious. They don’t watch the Real Housewives, but it’s reality TV so to them she is not only a Kardashian, but the prettiest one. Awesome. Kids are cute and Kardashian’s are bad, but that’s another blog!
At one point Jen told me that Brandi saved her life and Brandi quickly jumped in to say that Jen saved her own life. The moment lasted about a second but it was really great. There is a pride in each other that is very special. In a world were trust is hard to come by, and celebrity can bring out the crazy, their friendship began in a simpler time, and it transcends crap.
Brandi suffered a broken heart when her marriage ended. She lost the family life she wanted her whole life and to hear her talk about it is sad. Not a feel sorry for her sad, but the sadness all women feel when their marriage ends. Interesting to note that during our visit we talked a lot about love, marriage and divorce. She never said anything negative about her ex or his wife.
Regardless of what her feelings may or may not be, he is the father of her children and that trumps everything. She is classy. There is a vulnerable quality to her that is very genuine. She wants to move on and hopefully find love again. Like all women who have been scorned, it’s about self discovery, and rebuilding self-esteem. Divorce can break a woman’s soul.
I asked Jen to describe Brandi in 3 words and she chose vulnerable, feisty and beautiful. The 3 words Brandi chose for Jen were survivor, realist, and beautiful. These two women are my new favorite celebrity couple and thus must be given a celebrity name. From this day forward, Brandi Glanville and Jennifer Gimenez will be known at Brennie G. And so it is written!
Jennifer is learning to love herself in a meaningful way and understand that she is worthy of a good man. Brandi is lonely, and while still hurting, looking to rebuild her spirit and find love again. They wish the best for each other and it is lovely. Their friendship is strong and bold, but also calm and nurturing. These women are authentic, just like their friendship.
Sidebar: While gentle when needed, and forceful when required, there is no competition unless you are talking about board games. Then all bets are off and these chicks go a little crazy. Their charming interactions jumped a notch when it came to games. I love you turns to I will cut you. They really are funny and should have their own show. Someone needs to get on that.
Jennifer is lit from within and there is something spiritual about her. We all have demons in our past and although addiction is not an issue for me, you can face your own darkness through her, which brings peace. Brandi is a spectacular beauty who had her heart broken and has been able to get past it because her children bring her peace and joy. They are just like you and me.
The Amazons are tall, beautiful, funny, and living big lives, but in the end, they are just girls, like all of us, trying to get through life with dignity and grace. They are unapologetic, open, honest, brave and transparent. They are willing to air their dirty laundry with the hope that it will help someone. They are unselfish in terms of allowing people to see their struggles.
What is so interesting to me is that though they have seen each other through a lot, and did not necessarily like each other in the beginning, they do not keep score. There is no list of what each other has done or said to the other one. Their history does not look hover them or define their relationship. They are simply friends with a past, which is refreshing.
I asked them if they thought they would be friends now had they just met, and for a moment there was panic. Neither one could fathom the past 20 years not existing. They tried to answer the question but in the end couldn’t. There was a look of relief that they had a history nobody could take away, and as I looked at them I saw two little girls with endless secrets.
They are very different. Brandi is gentle but tough, and Jennifer is tough but gentle. They don’t tolerate crap from each other, and won’t allow each to take crap from anyone else. They are strongest when supporting each other, and at the end of the day have no fear they will ever be alone again because they are forever. Everyone should a friendship like this one.
We will have many options to see this dynamic duo on television. They are both doing what needs to be done in order to support themselves and their dreams. They are celebrities, but also just a couple of chicks. I like them. In spite of their offensive beauty and ridiculous height, I like them. Brennie G. is good people. When it comes to them, and us, they are keeping it real.

Just a few things to share…….
American Idol: I think its lame Jermaine Jones got kicked off. Did he lie? Yes. Does he have a criminal record? Yes. Should American Idol have done a better job of researching him? Yes. Lots of kids would have loved his spot and they chose him. He was never going to win, but why humiliate him in such a public way? We dug him and his mom. He did what any person would do if faced with losing their dreams. He did what he needed to do to keep his dream alive. He was wrong, but the mistake here lies on American idol. Shame on them for not finding out about him earlier.
Dance Moms: Abby lee is a lunatic and I would not let my kid dance there. She is rude, disrespectful and disgusting. So are the mothers of the children who are on this show. They are insanely talented, but I don’t think being on this show is worth it. Last week Abby dressed them up like showgirls and they looked naked. I was mortified for these little girls. The moms are fame whores and their teacher is truly a crazy person. This show is addictive, but it also needs to be canceled and these moms need a reality check.
Real Housewives of Atlanta: These chicks are boring. None of them are friends anymore and by anymore of course I mean they never really were. They fight because they hate each other, the storylines don’t work, and watching is a waste of time. Atlanta needs to be cancelled. Phaedra should be given her own show about her funeral parlor, and NeNe needs to be a regular on Glee. The rest of them can simply go away. The magic, which was minimal at best, is gone.
Real Housewives of Orange County: This show is tired. I watched it this week and simply do not understand why these women are on television. They need to move on with their lives by getting a life. They all have the mentality of teenage mean girls and it’s not cute. Vicki’s daughter has a major surgery and all Vicki can do it talk about herself and death. Vicki is a bitch, the rest are ridiculous, and they are embarrassing themselves by sleeping with the devil for their 15 minutes.
Retail Therapy with Jeff Lewis: I love Jeff, Jenni and Zoila, but this show just did not work for me. Jeff is hilarious, but his life is more interesting than his work. The couple featured on the premier was horrible and I imagine they regret showing their dysfunctional marriage on television. The better hang hang onto her husband because after this, nobody else will ever take her on. There were funny moments and I will watch, but it is not enough for me to blog it.
Fashion Star: Really? The premise of this show is good but it just does not work. Elle is stunning but sucks as a host. Nicole Richie is not a fashion icon, and I don’t get her here. After one show however, I have determined I adore Jessica Simpson. I loved her Newlywed show and think she is good television. She is gorgeous and super funny. If I watch this show again, and I’m honestly not sure I can do it, Simpson will be the only reason I tune in because she’s magic.
Reality television has nothing to do with keeping it real.
