    Finally, in mid-January, the rain started to pour over the land of Israel. The rain is blessed, no doubt, but it caught us unprepared. After two straight stormy days, the streets were flooded to the point that some people took out their canoes and started sailing. Most of us, however, stayed at home with a hot coco; after all, we are not used to a cold weather of any sort.
