Jewish Israelis who gathered in Hebron for a special Shabbat reportedly threw stones at the home of a Palestinian prisoner released in exchange for Gilad Shalit.

The rock throwers said the violence Saturday afternoon at the home of Hani Jaber began after a Palestinian attacked a teenage girl, Ynet reported. Jaber was freed after spending 18 years in jail in Israel for killing an Israeli Jew from Kiryat Arba, a Jewish neighborhood near Hebron.

Thousands of Jews gathered in Hebron over the weekend to mark the weekly Torah portion Chayei Sarah, in which the patriarch Abraham purchases the Cave of the Patriarchs. Muslims also claim the cave as a holy spot.
