Israel again allowing cars to enter Gaza

A shipment of private cars was allowed to enter Gaza for the first time in three years.
The 20 cars entered Gaza Monday through the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza. The car shipment will be followed in coming weeks by several others, Haaretz reported.
The cars are meant for the private sector, with most set to be turned into taxi cabs, Ynet reported.
Also Monday, a Syrian aid ship with 650 tons of food and medical supplies for Gaza docked in Egypt. The aid is scheduled to be delivered via land crossings to Gaza.
Israel eased some of its restrictions on what can enter Gaza in late May following the flotilla incident in which nine Turkish activists were killed.
