‘Hebrew Hammer’ named National League MVP

Ryan Braun, aka the “Hebrew Hammer” is the first Jewish baseball player named the National League Most Valuable Player in 48 years. The outfielder for the Milwaukee Brewers earned the NL MVP Award last week “after helping lead the Brewers to their first division title in nearly 30 years,” reported ESPN.com.

Braun received the news from his home in Malibu where he told ESPN:

“I’m not going to pretend like I wasn’t anxious or nervous because I was…I was obviously thrilled, excited. It’s honestly difficult to put into words how much this means to me.”
