‘Oh My G-d!’ Where’s my faith?

Tevya Heller, actor and comedian, misplaced his faith somewhere during his teenage years despite being raised in a devout Jewish household.

Now the atheist aims to find his connection to Judaism on his new reality show “Oh My G-d!”, airing Dec. 5 on Canadian ichannel.  According to the Jewish Tribune, the show trails Heller as he “embeds himself in the lives of young people from different Canadian faith communities…discovering firsthand how they experience G-d”.

So actually, he’s not aiming necessarily at reconnecting with his Judaism, but rather at choosing whichever faith is left standing at the end of the series.

Heller told the JT:

When he lefts home, “I became exposed to a million different points of view,” he said. “It really kind of blew my mind and I then realized that I did not believe in any Jewish teachings. That being said, I mean no disrespect to the religion. I remain proud of my Jewish heritage. I am a proud Jewish atheist.”
