Gail and Adam
By Gail Zimmerman
Arts & Entertainment Editor
Detroit Jewish News
“There are thousands of women of a certain age out there who are just one Adam Lambert Google search away from crashing their computers,” Newsweek’s Joan Raymond wrote in a June blog titled Why Cougars Crave Idol Runner-Up Adam Lambert. “The good news is that people who know about these things think that our little Lambert love-fest is downright mentally healthy.”
Raymond goes on to quote sex therapist Laura Berman, director of the Berman Center in Chicago, who says, “I think more women would be happier if they channeled their inner 14-year-old girls once in a while.”
Lambert, Berman believes, somehow manages to be “hardcore, crazy, humble, adorable, charismatic, sweet and mind-blowingly talented,” all in one package. “He’s a study in contrasts, and the gay thing doesn’t matter,” she says. “Anyone who can get women to talk, giggle and get their mojo back is fine by me.”
So you can imagine my excitement when I received an e-mail from the “American Idols Live 2009” press people saying that interviews were available to promote the Idols’ Aug. 26 appearance at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
“Can I get an interview with Adam? He’s the only Jewish Idol in the bunch,” I write. “Sorry, but his schedule is just too hectic.”
The consolation prize? “You can come to the press hour before the concert if you like.” The catch? There’s a 50/50 chance Adam will be there. Only five of the 10 Idols do press before each concert, and there is no way to say in advance who they’ll be.
I decide to take my chances. I come to the Palace on the day of the concert and hope for the best. About six or seven other press outlets are represented, including some local TV and radio stations. We are escorted into a dimly lit room.
A press officer from the AI machine comes in and announces that the Idols will be coming out shortly — not necessarily all at one time — and they would include Adam (thank you, God!). Absolutely no autographs or photos, she says.
She explains that the Idols will rotate around and that the journalists will have to speak with whomever ends up at their table — although we might not get a chance to speak with all of them. “You’ll get about 3½ minutes with each Idol,” she says. “You can ask whatever you want, but I suggest you don’t ask about Paula Abdul. Everyone has been asking about her, and they don’t know anything more about it.”
I go up to her and explain “the Jewish connection” and my desire to speak with Adam. She can’t make any promises.
The Idols trickle out (I don’t see Adam). She brings one over to me and introduces me as “Esther” from the Jewish News. I correct her on my name, and she apologizes. The Idol quickly figures out he isn’t going to get much press from me.
I see a tall figure with asymmetrically cut black hair — wearing jeans and a T-shirt — enter the room. Adam is smiling. Without his stage makeup, he looks younger than his 27 years. I concur with what Adam’s mom, Leila Lambert, said during an interview on ABC’s 20/20: “I always said he was like sunshine. He just walks into a room and he, he just glows.”
I’m talking with another Idol when I see Adam approaching with the publicist. (She must feel badly about calling me Esther.) I wish the Idol well, and he moves on.
The publicist introduces me to Adam. (Like Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl, I’d like to say, “Hello, Gorgeous.” But I am trying to maintain some sense of professionalism.)
Adam sits down next to me at the table and shakes my hand. We are face-to-face, sitting about two feet apart. He immediately makes an intense kind of eye contact, which he maintains throughout the interview, making me feel like I’m the only person in the room.
I abandon my notes and, hoping my tape recorder is working, decide to ask my prepared questions from memory. I don’t want to look away; I am having an out-of-body experience.
Adam laughs often and totally engages in the conversation. He is warm, polite, candid, good-natured and quick-witted, with a great sense of humor.
Listen in on our conversation:
Jewish News: Hi Adam, nice to meet you.
Adam Lambert: How are you?
JN: How are you?
AL: I’m very good. Thank you.
JN: Well, Adam, welcome to “the Jewish mom” interview.
AL: Yaaayyy! My people. (Laughing and opening his arms wide.)
JN: Speaking of your people, there are some things your Jewish fans are curious about. Are both of your parents Jewish?
AL: No, my mom is.
JN: The Rolling Stone article said you dropped out of Hebrew school at age 5.
AL: I think I was a little bit older than 5. Probably like 9.
JN: How were you able to sing those songs in Hebrew that everyone’s listened to over the Internet?
AL: Oh. All phonetic. I don’t speak Hebrew. I wasn’t bar mitzvahed, unfortunately.
JN: So did your family celebrate the holidays?
AL: We did celebrate Chanukah as opposed to Christmas. So we stayed true to our roots that way. And we celebrated Passover occasionally. I mean I hate to say it, but we were kind of Jewish by form. Lightly Jewish. Diet Jews. More of a heritage thing.
(True to his heritage, and to the spirit of tikkun olam, Adam has requested that his fans donate to charity rather than buying him gifts. For more on his campaign to help support arts and music in high-need public schools, go to DonorsChoose.org/Adam Lambert.)
JN: I loved the version of Muse’s “Starlight” you sang on Good Morning America and can’t wait to hear you perform it at tonight’s concert.
AL: Thank you.
JN: The song’s lyric, “Black holes and revelations.”
AL: Isn’t that beautiful?
JN: What’s the biggest black hole you’re afraid of falling into?
AL: Obscurity. That would be a shame. That would be a real shame. If I have anything to say about it, it won’t happen no matter what goes on with my career.
JN: What’s the biggest revelation you’ve had?
AL: You know, at the risk of sounding a little bit cliché, that anything’s possible. I really think that, to a point, if you dream something and really visualize it, I think that it can come true. I really do believe that now.
(The AI publicist has her back to me. I surreptitiously ask Adam if he can autograph my copy of “Rolling Stone” with him on the cover. “Ye-ah,” he laughs, as he signs it with the Sharpie pen I’ve brought for the occasion. Don’t be looking for it on e-Bay!)
JN: I know your mom’s going to be working for you.
AL: She’s going to be helping me with administrative stuff. Yeah.
JN: What’s the best piece of unsolicited advice she’s given you lately?
AL: You know, it’s funny [but] my mom doesn’t give me a lot of advice these days. I think it’s kind of in the vein of an unspoken kind of advice. It’s more of a support thing. My dad’s really Mr. Advice.
JN: There’s always one parent who’s like that.
AL: Yeah, yeah yeah. My dad’s my teacher. Teacher-parent.
JN: You have fans that range from age 8 to 80. Do you have grandparents who are alive to see everything that’s happening to you?
AL: Unfortunately, both of my mom’s parents have passed away. My dad’s parents are both alive, and they’ve been blown away by everything that’s been going on. I saw my grandma at one of the California shows. I think she came to the second L.A. show, and she was so sweet. She really enjoyed that.
JN: How is your family dealing with all the peripheral fame that comes along with all of this?
AL: I think they’re doing a pretty good job. Obviously, it’s a big adjustment because there are people trying to get to me through them sometimes, and it’s not something that anybody’s ever prepared to deal with, I don’t think. It’s interesting (laughs) … pretty interesting.
JN: November should be an exciting month for you. Your album is due to be released, and you’ve recorded a song for the film 2012 that will be in theaters about the same time.
AL: Yes, and it’s a really beautiful song. Very inspirational, and the production is gorgeous, very like a great classic rock ballad — very unlike the material that’s going to be on the album actually. The album’s going to be more modern electronic rock-pop, and [the 2012 track] is a more traditional, old school, heartfelt ballad, a little bit more like some of the stuff I did on Idol. The album is going to take what I did on Idol as a reference, and I’m going to launch it into today.
JN: With your album coming out, you’ll have to promote it. Would you like to host Saturday Night Live?
AL: Oh, my God. That would be amazing. That would be so much fun. That would be great. It would be very, very cool.
JN: When you go on the road in support of the album, would you like to tour to Israel?
AL: Yeah. I would love to. I want to go everywhere!
(The publicist puts her finger up for one last question, and I start to play a sort of “Jewish geography.” I ask Adam if he knows a certain family in San Diego, where he grew up.)
AL: Yeah (he says, with a look of surprise). How do you know them?
JN: I don’t. My next-door neighbor asked me to mention it. Her best friend in San Diego has a best friend in San Diego, who is the mom in the family.
AL: Well, her daughter Danielle is my best friend. And [Danielle] was sitting in the audience with my family during the [AI] shows. She’s my best friend in the world!
JN: Six degrees of separation.
AL: There you go! Nice meeting you! A pleasure. Have a good one. Have fun tonight!
Adam Lambert’s debut solo album will be released on November 24.

JEALOUSSSS. Good interview though!
Great interview! Thanks so much. I see you are another fangirl, how could you not. You are so lucky to have met him and talked with him. He really does shine.
BEST interview of Adam E . V . E . R !!!!!!!!
Awesome interview!
Adam is a mensch!
Now that ADAM has introduced himself to the world we have come to love and admire him ... he will NEVER sink into Obscurity ... at least not as long as I’m alive.
Loved this interview. In a very short time you managed to really bring out his personality. Nice job. I sure do like Mr. Adam Lambert.
I think it’s kind of rude that you seemed to ignore the other Idol contestants.
Thank you for such great questions..very touched by his not wanting “to fade way.”
I love his version of Starlight, get teary every time listening to the emotion in the heavenly voice. The goddess broke the mold after creating Adam Lambert!
Great interview!! Adam is adorable as always
I think Adam makes everyone believe that all things are possible! He’s truly an inspiration with the way he lives his life so openly and honestly. What a great interview. I loved your questions, not the same ole same ole!
Molly, where did she say she ignored the other idols? She spoke with them as noted when they would get up and leave. I think you need to be more respectful.
Thanks so much for asking questions that no one else did on the tour. I’m wondering why this interview wasn’t made available back in August! Now, I finally know which of his parents is Jewish and which holidays the family celebrated, etc. Not that any of that is really important. It’s just that when you get “attached” to a celebrity, you kind of want to know all of these little things. Also, I really appreciated your describing how he interacted and behaved in the interview. It confirms what we all feel is true about Adam: that he is a good and sweet person. That intense eye contact that he maintained during the interview makes me very envious of you! He certainly knows how to relate to another human being. Thanks so much!!
Great interview. Asked many interesting questions we haven’t heard before.
I loved the Muse lyrics questions. Those were two of the most original questions I’ve heard from the many, many Adam interviews I’ve read or watched. Good job!
Gail, what an absolutely fabulous interview-one of the BEST I’ve read. Thank you for shedding more light on our star by asking new, original & thoughtful questions that he would be proud to answer. Fantastic!!
One of the best Adam interviews ever. I loved the “black holes and revelations” part and it was great to read new info about his family and Jewish heritage.
My favorite interview, and I’ve seen most of them! Great photo of you and Adam; I’m so jealous that you got to touch his hand! Thanks, you made my day!
Why is this interview out now. Wierd. But good stuff.
Thank you so much for this great interview - your questions had terrific insight and we learned a bit more about our fantastic Glambert. I had the immense pleasure of meeting him and talking with him in San Diego last May, and I so agree with you about his amazing eye contact - it is disconcerting to have someone so gorgeous staring straight into your eyes; I’ll never forget it!
I was overcome with emotions reading how ADAM immediately made intense eye contact and all throughout the interview. It’s because I’m so envious of you having that chance and let you feel you’re the only person in the room or that matter. I would not know how I would react. Maybe I get weak in the knees or tear up. ADAM is such a sweet person and a rare gem. I like the way his mother described his presence: “He’s just like sunshine, he glows!” It’s my utmost desire that one day that sunshine is glowing on me with that intense gaze from those blue tantalizing eyes. Just want the experience.
Great interview! You asked some questions no one else has. Loved the stiff about ‘black holes and revelations’. And yea! You’re a fangirl like the rest of us. Loved that your first thought was “Hello Gorgeous” and I so understand putting the notes away because you didn’t want to look away from him. Great interview!
I loved the black holes and revelations question. Great interview. I am a huge fan of Adam Lambert and his music, so thanks for an interview that brought out some new things!
wonderful interview. great questions. you’re right. he does glow in person. I’m glad this keeps getting confirmed by others, or else I might think i am just too obsessed, but over and over i keep receiving confirmation of my own, albeit brief, experience of meeting him this summer.
The Best interview- He is so open and honest and just hands you his heart, you got some unique answers. Adam is even more desireable now when he says “If you dream something & really visualize it IT CAN come true” I needed to hear this, I had forgotten, but it is true. Thank you Adam for bringing me back to life again! You have been blessed with a supernatural gift to inspire through your voice, words, and presence! I Love you!
REREAD the interview. The interview was SPEAKING TO ANOTHER IDOL CONTESTANT UNTIL ADAM SHOWED UP. So, DU-UH!!! Obviously the interviewer did NOT ignore the others. This is an interview ABOUT Adam. Maybe if you GOOGLE the other idol’s names then MAYBE you’ll find an article/interview ABOUT THEM. Gee, I don’t know, it’s just a hunch. Let me know if the advice was helpful.
Adam Lambert wore a jacket with 2 swastikas on it for the whole tour. I don’t care if it was supposed to be an ancient symbol. It was extremely offensive to me and the Jewish community. Take a look at it and you decide. Adam does not deserve to be on a Jewish website after wearing perceived hate symbols for Jewish people. I am disgusted.
http://www.votefortheworst.com/20091004/adam_lambert_auctioned_jacket_swastikas_it
Adam Lambert is a drug and alcohol abusing sexual deviant who willingly and knowingly wore a jacket with hand drawn swaztikas on it. I guess as a society, our standards have sunk so low that we idolize somebody such as him. I find it disgusting and deplorable. For you, a Jewish woman, to act like this man is a Jewish “idol” is almost as deplorable. This is what everyone’s “idol” does in his off time, in between his interviews. SICKENING. Is THIS what you want YOUR children to idolize and emulate??? [THIS COMMENT HAS BEEN EDITED]
To LBC - Don’t hide behind your outrage at the swatikas on the jacket because he is Jewish. You are clearly a homophobe through and through (the picture you attached says it all)and feel that everyone must live their life according to your rules and beliefs. I find people like you SICKENING. Wake up to the 21st century, you freak!
Sorry, I meant that last comment for Phyliss
Yes, I’ve woken up to the 21st century, where morals and modesty are a thing of the past, where homosexuality and drug abuse is running rampant, where perversions and fetishes are supposed to be “accepted” and treated as the norm, where the very moral fabric of our society is being ripped to shreds and we just sit back and let it happen, then wonder where we “went wrong” with our youth. People like YOU make me sick.
Phyliss, what are you doing here - don’t you need to be in church or something?
Perhaps Mr. Lambert’s parents should have taken him there more often, JP. Homosexuality isn’t exactly accepted with open arms within the Jewish community. Have you ever heard of JONAH? Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality, a group that tries to “unlearn” a person from their homosexual tendancies. Perhaps they should read the book ” Light in the Closet: Torah, Homosexuality, and the Power to Change” by Arthur Goldberg.
Homosexuality is not a CHOICE - you can’t ‘unlearn’ this….it is what you are. I’m thinking maybe Mr. Lambert’s parents decided not to take their child to an institution that teaches and promotes hate instead of love for their fellow human beings.
So you’re saying that the Jewish faith promotes hate? Homosexuality IS a choice, perhaps YOU should do your homework when it comes to Jews and homosexuality. Are you Jewish? I am, and above all else I put my faith and its teachings. Homosexuality CAN and HAS been unlearned by countless people under JONAH. Each person is capable of violent rage, too, but do we act on it? No, as moral human beings, we know it’s WRONG and we resist the urge to become violent with rage. The same can be said about homosexuality, most people of the Jewish faith KNOW it’s wrong and have the CHOICE as to act upon it or not. Most DEFINETLY homosexuality CAN be unlearned, and it has been and continues to be with the teachings of JONAH. I think you need to keep your opinion to yourself until you become better educated.
I am not Jewish and I don’t single out the Jewish faith as promoters of hate. Unfortunately, it covers many other religions. How do you compare violent rage to homeosexuality? How is his sexual preference hurting you? If being educated means I need to become a hateful bigot to make myself feel special in God’s eyes, than I’ll pass.
Good for you, Phyllis Zimerman!! I 100% wholeheartedly agree with you. As a father of 3, I’m finding it terrible hard in this day and age to raise my kids with morals and ethics and faith. Seems the world no longer believes in the power and strenghth of faith, this world, and our country and society in particular, is going to hell in the proverbial handbag. That link you posted opened my eyes to exactly what is going on in this country, THIS is the young man people feel should be an “idol”??? Absolutely NO morals, at all, no fear of God, no fear of anything. It scares me, as a father, to see what our society is becoming.
I’ll bet you two are alot of fun at parties….
Thank you, Manny. Just a little FYI, that link I posted was a picture sent to my 12 year old daugther by one of her friends yesterday. First of all I was shocked, then disgusted that this is what a so called “family” show like American Idol was promoting and that a picture like that can end up in my daughter’s email. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who can look at that picture and NOT be disturbed even a little bit knowing that a 12 year old child can and did see it, has more problems than I can even imagine. There was a reason this kind of behavior was hidden from society for 1,000’s of years.
I couldn’t care less that Adam is gay. That doesn’t matter. What does matter is that he wore swastikas on his tour jacket. He is Jewish and wearing that symbol brings up nothing but hate and bad memories. He has never answered why he wore swastikas. BTW that jacket sold for $2000 on ebay. I am outraged that he chose to wear such a hateful symbol.
LBC, I doubt it bothers any of the fans of this creep that he sported a jacket with Nazi swastikas on it, it certainly doesn’t bother the Jewish woman who wrote this article. I’m pretty sure he could molest a little boy and these fanatics would defend him. They’ll defend him saying the swastika is an ancient Hindu symbol of Vishnu and means love or something to that effect. Where I come from, that symbol has and will forever be associated with evil, certainly not love. In Germany the swastika is illegal and is not allowed to be shown, in ANY form. So, I think you’re beating a dead horse, here, LBC. Apparently this deviant creep can do no wrong in the eyes of his fans, for some reason. I suppose if any of the other American Idol contestants acted like Mr. Lambert, they would have been ostracized to no end, but Mr. Lambert is allowed to break the rules.
The symbol on the jacket you are referring to as a swastika is very hard to see. I had to stare and stare at the photo to even find it. I doubt Adam had even noticed it. Certainly it would not be noticed by anyone who saw him on stage at the concerts. After someone looking for a way to slam him pointed it out to him, he sold the jacket, with proceeds going to charity. Adam is a good person and doesn’t deserve the hate he is receiving from some commenters here.
RMP, it doesn’t matter how small the swastikas were on his jacket. The fact remains he wore it. It looks hand drawn. Adam knew it was on there. I am not looking to slam him. I just want an explanation as to why he would wear a hateful symbol that evokes horrible memories for Jewish people.
Why are you saying Adam “knew they were there” ? Do you have any evidence of that ? Are you saying you think this wonderful, loving man is really a nazi sympathizer ? That is ridiculous.
RMP, you sound like you think Adam can do no wrong. The fact is he wore the jacket. He was certainly made aware of the fact that they were there and chose not to address the issue. The main reason I brought it up here is because this is a Jewish website gushing about Adam Lambert. If Adam is so loving and wonderful, he would explain how they got there and why he wore it in the first place. The only person that can answer why he wore swastikas is him.
I’m not saying “Adam can do no wrong”. He could do wrong, but it has not been proven to me that he has done wrong. He is innocent until proven guilty. Based on the fact I found the swastika very hard to see even when I was told one was there, it seems plausible to me that he had not noticed it. Given what I have seen and read about him (which is alot), he seems to have a sterling character which I very much admire. Therefore I find it unreasonable to condemn him for wearing the jacket without knowing more about the situation. He is an incredibly loving person and I don’t think he would purposely wear a hateful symbol. I think he just hadn’t noticed it. He is an honest and open person and I’m sure will answer the question if he is asked about it.
Wow, As a Christian I must say you ugly, nasty people on here are an embarrassment to your heritage. Adam is such a shining example of what a person of ANY religious background, creed, race and—yes—sexual orientation should be. Grow up and pray to your God to take your hate away.
I actually agree with LBC and Phyllis Zimermann. Eileen, shining example of what? Immorality? Degeneracy? Perversion? Alcohol and drug abuse? He’s a shining example of what I am teaching my children NOT to be. How in the world do you know that this person is “loving and kind”? Do you know ANYTHING about him other than what you read in these interviews? I see something in him that’s not very nice and not very kind, but you people can’t see past the glitter and makeup to actually see it for yourselves. Sheep, all of you, following blindly. And to think that there are women actually ignoring their families and and husbands and devoting every waking minute of their days lusting over this man is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever heard.
Eileen - don’t waste your time. These people aren’t worth the trouble it takes to explain why Adam should be emulated -because of the the amazing person that he is. They only judge people for what they are, not who they are.
It’s funny, Doris, but from you we’ve seen only hatred and distortion, while from Adam we’ve seen only love, kindness, generosity, and gratitude toward others. You attack others, Adam never does. NEVER. You see, that is what “morality” is all about - how you treat others. Adam has shown himself time after time after time to be a sterling example of how to treat others. You, not so much, at least based on your post here. I think you should reconsider what you are putting out into the world. Try to look honestly for the good in others and show them some respect. I humbly suggest that this will benefit you as well as others.
Well said RMP
Doris, I wonder why you even went to this site and apparently read this interview. If you so dispise Adam, why bother. Just ignore him. The fact that you are compelled to comment and make such strong statements reveals that you are in conflict. In fact, Doris, we do know Adam. We’ve seen him for months under the most intense pressure you could ever imagine. We have seen him taking criticism and hearing insults that would have destroyed a lessor person. He is open and honest about his lifestyle, and in this day and time, I find that remarkably refreshing. I feel sorry for your children. With your attitude, they could never reveal their true feelings for fear of mother’s rejection. BTW, thoroughly enjoyed this interview of Adam. Writer did a super job asking the questions I’ve wanted to know. I wondered about his family’s reaction and involvement in his career. Thanks.
I am Jewish, and I’m embarrassed by these closed minded comments. Homosexuality is not a choice. It is true that many men have tried to establish heterosexual relationships even to the extent of marrying and having children. But ultimately, they are miserable because they are acting contrary to their genetics. If you don’t understand, just try for a moment to imagine what it would be like if you had to have relationships only with members of your own sex. Homosexuality has been part of humanity foreever. Study your history. Highly recommend the HBO special OUTCAST. It is an incredible production dealing with this subject.
The swastika jacket was not sold for charity. Rather, he gave it to someone who sold it for profit.
And it has two very clear swastikas on it. The symbol of hatred that is so entwined with Nazis that everyone in the world associates it with. Only people who are insane could deny it. Like Lambert fans.
O.K- SETTLE DOWN!! Everyone here has a valid point! Resepct each others views! Yes we all have to agree this photo IS DISTURBING!- if they were Gay or Straight. It is true that the “GAY” life style appears to be more promiscuous. They don’t deny this. But! To call Adam a degenerate creep drug and alcohol abuser is WRONG. You do NOT know this man and should not judge! God did give us a free will to choose our path, and Adam is NOT hurting anyone, but himelf if he is not PLEASING GOD! Adam has to answer to GOD not us! We ALL have a walk in life that takes many turns and we all fall short, and no one is perfect. That is what life is—to live and learn through all our choices. God LOVES ADAM right now and knows he will go through and learn many things in his life. Everything good about Adam is a GIFT from God, and there is so MUCH GOOD! If you truely feel he is lost and confused , PRAY VERY HARD FOR ADAM THAT GOD REVEAL TO HIM HIS LOVE AND TRUTH! I feel a strong need to pray for Adam that God will work in his life on this journey he about to take. If being Gay is your only concern, then that is what you should pray for if you feel it is a choice. Ask God to help him! Don’t hate him! That goes against all God teaches. LOVE! As for the jacket, this is highly unlikely, No Proof they were even there when Adam wore this. They could have been added after to start this drama. they were hand printed. Find out the truth first!! God Bless You ALL!
A cab driver in the Philippines became radically saved. He was taught that he now had the power of God in his life to transform his community. Because he had not had any prior religious training to the contrary, he took a literal approach to believing what the Bible says about prayer and miracles.
He decided that the best mission field for him was the local bar in his neighborhood. So he began to visit this bar to find the most qualified sinner he could find in order to minister to him. He met the bartender and determined that he was a great prospect because he was also a gay drug addict and a pimp to 65 prostitutes. The cab driver visited the bar regularly and got to know the bartender while drinking his “usual” Coke. Eventually, the Lord used the cab driver to bring this man to Christ.
The power of God moved greatly in the bartender, and he was delivered from his homosexual lifestyle. He began to change his life and share Jesus with the prostitutes. All 65 of them became Christians, and they began meeting in the bar for Bible study.
Soon, the owner of the bar began to notice the change in these people, and he also was saved. The bar became a church, and the group started 10 cell group churches in the neighborhood. Now that is a miraculous transformation!
No matter what situation we find ourselves in, we should always remain aware that God wants to intervene. He desires a moment-by-moment relationship with us, and He wants to demonstrate His loving power to others through us. We can approach God about any situation, for there is nothing that is too small or too great for Him.*
Ask God to be a transformer in your workplace and city.
I cannot believe the Jewish community is not more outraged- or even outraged at all- by the swatikas he wore on his jacket to 52 cities on tour. Give me a break he didn’t see them. I believe the non-Adam idolators just want him to address it. That’s fair. But so far, nothing except some snarky tweet saying “I love those Germans”. I guess he meant this in jest but it is another diss on the entire nationality of Germans who were not and never were Nazi sympathizers. As was stated, HE is the only one who can explain this, and yet he doesn’t. hmmmm.
I am not a homophobe and have 2 members in my family who are homosexual. But they are not deviant as he has been pictured to be. This is ONE of the ways and times Adam spent his off-time. It is NFSW.

Is this a Jewish role model or a role model for anyone? People obsessing about Adam are insane. They put him in a box that is most certainly full of holes and depravity.
Adam did not wear a swastika. There are a lot of similar symbols. what the hell is the matter with you? Adam is a remarkable young man. stop being as bad as the far right loonies.
Here is another wonderful example of how Adam spends his time. It is Noa Dori and Adam singing “The Prayer” in an English/Hebrew version. Beautiful! He is a gift from God. Just listen, and appreciate what he has to offer.

Rest assured - the people whose lives are driven by hate will find a way to refer to that beautiful video as blasphemy - that is just what they like to do
Good for you RMP and JP. Adam is a beautiful person inside and out. Perfect. Of course not. He has flaws and weaknesses like everyone else. But he’s honest, open, intelligent with a voice from God. Why don’t we appreciate this special young man instead of dwelling on petty business.
I am absolutely disgusted by the hate mail on this site. I am a mother of three boys, Jewish and I happen to be a big Adam fan. I am SHOCKED by the disgusting nature of the postings. With all of the hate out there, Adam is one of the few who is honest, a good person, immensely talented, and giving. You all should save your anger for those who really deserve it, like the Baptist group that wants to kill Jews, gays, etc. You should focus your anger where it really should be focused, on the right-wing fanatical lunatics who are dangerous!
Thank you so much for the questions you asked in this interview that had to do with him being Jewish! I’ve been dying to know things like that, but I couldn’t find the answers anywhere. Personally, I’m much more interested in him being a Jew than being gay. My parents, cousins, friends and I all love Adam! He does shine!!!
bra! bro! get a grip this is propaganda. jews represent less then a 5th of the country or world. they have shared in the american dream and have found refuge here. As has many! they are concentrated in 3 cities ny,la,miami beach and nowhere else… they own no land, no real machines, no real influences in any commodity except for new york and all the dirt there. Its a great country the US. they are the first to hate it if they can’t claim it as their promised land, sorry they are the communist offspring of marx and FERMI discovered the bomb not einstone all the time could not pass third grade in germany but i did make it in america as a theorist!!!! patent office clerk ..........haha
