Apparently, the Blockbuster star left early because he was under-dressed. Unfortunately, there were no black hats up for auction at Chabad of Alaska’s premiere fundraising event.
According to JointMedia News Service, which reported the event:
Unbeknownst to Cage, who showed up in typical Alaskan attire (comfortable clothing), the gala was a black tie affair. According to a photographer on site, he retreated soon after because he did not feel it was appropriate to attend such a glamorous event without being properly dressed.
That didn’t sink the party, however, which went on to raise $250,000 for the establishment of a Jewish Museum and Cultural Center in Anchorage.

Tevya Heller, actor and comedian, misplaced his faith somewhere during his teenage years despite being raised in a devout Jewish household.
Now the atheist aims to find his connection to Judaism on his new reality show “Oh My G-d!”, airing Dec. 5 on Canadian ichannel. According to the Jewish Tribune, the show trails Heller as he “embeds himself in the lives of young people from different Canadian faith communities…discovering firsthand how they experience G-d”.
So actually, he’s not aiming necessarily at reconnecting with his Judaism, but rather at choosing whichever faith is left standing at the end of the series.
Heller told the JT:
When he lefts home, “I became exposed to a million different points of view,” he said. “It really kind of blew my mind and I then realized that I did not believe in any Jewish teachings. That being said, I mean no disrespect to the religion. I remain proud of my Jewish heritage. I am a proud Jewish atheist.”

Miri Ben-Ari, violinist and Grammy winning singer, performed again in Washington last week at the Kennedy Center. The popular singer has played with artists such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and Britney Spears reported the Washington Examiner.
Previously Ben-Ari played at the White House “at the request of Michelle Obama where, as part of the annual celebration of Women’s History Month, she was deemed a “remarkable” woman mentor.
She also spoke out about “Gedenk” (“Remember”), her non-profit aimed at bringing awareness about the Holocaust to the younger generation.
Ben-Ari told WE,
“I think that it’s my responsibility as an artist to utilize my talent to do things that are greater than me,” she noted. “Supporting great causes and spreading important messages are crucial when it comes to looking at the world as a global community. I would like to consider myself as someone that contributes to a movement to make the world a better place.”

Comedian Joan Rivers shopped with her niece, Caroline, for the perfect wedding dress…for Caroline, not Rivers!
Rivers told Caroline and the Huffington Post,
“You have got to feel like you are the most magical creature alive that day, because then the reality will hit. We can give you the Snooki look,” Joan says, puffing up Caroline’s hair into a little bump. “And if we put a hole here [pointing to Caroline’s privates], we can give her the Kardashian look.”
When asked what could make Rivers shop for another wedding dress of her own, she replied, “An old Jewish man with a cough!”

James Deen is the next hot thing in the world of porn. The 25-year-old Jewish porn star was chosen as “What Women Want” in Good magazine as reported by the Forward.
“Apparently ‘nerdy Jewish dudes’ are a hot genre in porn” and the 5’8” Deen fits the bill along with “a certain appendage that is, shall we say, bigger than average.”

Madonna has been on the phone daily, consoling Demi Moore with “spiritual guidance” following the announcement of Moore’s upcoming divorce, Perez Hilton (PH) reports.
PH says according to a “friend”, Madge is giving Moore messages of strength and encouragement, telling her “Ashton’s immaturity is evident and that she deserves someone who will fulfill her intellectually and emotionally.”
Both women dated younger men, sought Kabbalah counseling, and now have ended in divorce.
