Obama Flounders in Face of National Calamity

A picture speaks a thousand words.

LOS ANGELES. Predictably, liberals have already begun scrambling to connect last night’s devastating storm to Climate Change™ or Global Warming™ or whatever buzzword is trending as of late in that camp—and “don’t get it twisted”: that is exactly the plan. While millions of Southern California residents survey the unspeakable damage this so-called sharknado caused, wringing briny water from their children’s tattered vestments, the focus has yet to shift to President Obama’s steady inaction in the face of national calamity.

The sharknado, which top scientists have described as “a tornado full of sharks,” hit the West Coast at approximately 6PM PST, and, in the ensuing hours, Americans watched the carnage with mounting horror. According to social media website Twitter, the event peaked at more than five thousand tweets per minute; even the American Red Cross (@RedCross) issued warnings to practice preparedness.

Chris Vaccaro, a spokesman for the National Weather Service, also advised those in proximity to the storm: “As with any waterspout or tornado, the best advice is to be in an interior part of the lowest floor of a sturdy building—and not outside, whether sharks are raining down or not.”

In fact, only the Environmental Protection Agency, a historically left-leaning organization, has, in a desperate bid to protect the President, refuted science itself.

At this point, it should not come as a surprise that liberals waffle on what Climate Change™ is or is not, but to deny the occurrence of something that has dispossessed and made homeless so many citizens is to usher in a new, despicable nadir for the Democratic Party.

That no national relief effort has been announced, that no shelters have been opened, that President Obama has not yet acknowledged the tragedy in Southern California speaks volumes about his time in office. His record on Benghazi, the NSA, and other dire “missteps” precedes him; in the coming days he will stand before the American people to rhetorize, sympathize, and, ultimately, attempt to pull the wool over the media’s eyes—all too late.
