Quadrantid meteor shower Saturday morning
Be sure to wake up extra early Saturday morning for the Quadrantid meteor shower. You’ll get a good view since the sky is expected to be free of moonlight, but it’s best to head out into rural areas free of light pollution. “Before dawn, the shower’s radiant is located 56˚ high in the northeast, in the northernmost reaches of Bootes the Herdsman, between Hercules and the handle of the Big Dipper. The Quadrantids can produce between 45 to 100 meteors per hour in dark, rural sites.” (Griffith Observatory)
Why isn’t that PS3 price dropping?
According to Nielsen’s year-end review, PlayStation 2 is still the No. 1 video game console in terms of time spent on game play; the PlayStation 3 ranks No. 5, behind Xbox 360 (2), Wii (3), Xbox (4). The problem could be the high sticker price (about $399). But don’t expect a price cut anytime soon—iSuppli found it costs Sony $448.73 to make the system. Crave blog has details.
