Kosher in the mix for Twins’ ballpark franks

Fans of the Minnesota Twins can chow down on Hebrew National this spring.
Target Field, home of the Twins since last year, is setting up a kosher hot dog cart in time for the team’s home opener April 8 vs. the Oakland Athletics.
The hot dogs and condiments are under the supervision of MSP Kosher headed by Rabbi Avi Olitzky of Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park.
Olitzky does not charge a fee for his supervision.
“This is about providing more kosher food for people,” he told JTA.
Kosher options are available in about a dozen major league stadiums, including Baltimore, New York, Chicago and Washington, and about the same number of minor league parks.
Some of the stadiums offer glatt kosher food, while others sell Hebrew National hot dogs, which are recognized as kosher by the Conservative movement but not by Orthodox kosher authorities.
