The Angels Are Men

By Emily Stern

The angels conceal themselves
from those who could see them (Avraham could see them)
To him they must call themselves men.
And the angels reveal themselves to those who
Would never see them as angels
But still to them (Lot would not see them) the angels are men.

And there was my heart
That had tried every day
And the first love he breathed
He looked at in its most natural way.

The early mercy became part
Of this tree and the red
Freedom peered and she began to
Put on orange stockings and
Walk to the news stand.

  • Living Tree

    The Tree

She asked me about the Tree of Life!
And I told her that all the way through her,
She can be a tree. Ever growing, ever giving, free.

Oh, says the woman, I choose to be a pear tree
That’s the kind of tree that I would like to be.

And her trunk is made of parts... read on

  • Guardians of Prayer

    By Emily Stern

    Guardians of prayer
    Are so free inside
    flying to you in messages
    Asking for nothing
    But you.

Someone mentioned to me that we are guardians

    of the whole world

    And everything that we guard

    belongs to you
these songs for you, to you as space.

    We  are the Guardians

    and gardens of prayer,
caught in your grace as you.

  • Meant to Be Here

    By Emily Stern

    August 26, 2013 | 10:11 am

You are meant to be here. Have you ever heard this said? You are meant to be here. Lets say why. When people say it usually they mean there is a great big plan—or maybe even it is small, but you are meant to be here.  There is intention behind your hips, behind your ribs, your pulse, your lips. The mind of Him. And of here of which they speak of now. Right here. Here- here you are meant to be right in this moment wide, ready, open hearted. Raise your hand as if it is a prayer. I am here, fully here.

  • Eagle sing

    By Emily Stern

    June 24, 2013 | 9:13 am

You were born and given eagle's

    something soft, something big.

    Something fluffy, something free,

    have you ever heard

about the latent cells in the human heart waiting until some perfect time, a pre-determined time when all will sing?

Are you ready, Song, to be heard?

do you even care that you weren't before?

"yes!" Because the song she sings

will envelop you like eagle's wings.

    Sarah Is In The Tent

    Inside your submarined light
I saw through it and forever you have my eyes.

    Avraham within the cave wondered if when he killed the kings, he was lost in defacing God;
    Not only nature is God.

    Someone I admire is superman
In a lighter blue leotard... read on

  • Zombies and Enlightenment

    By Emily Stern

The Zombies are such spiritually enlightened ones who give up the self
    and follow the way.

The bloody headless ones have only the heart that is the path.

and the vampires, yes, who live forever know the immortal and teach your blood they place beyond.
