I Spared Nothing

By Emily Stern

Even though We were so different,
That hardly anything lined up,
Something more than perfect stars, making you,
God broke through and Made each of Us
In miraculousness- in polarity- in, you say, nothing,

But really

“I spared nothing to make you.”

  • Being Commanded (REWRITTEN)

    By Emily Stern

    August 5, 2015 | 9:49 pm

    Maybe we are keeping commandments

by finding the seeds planted inside of us, growing them, trimming them,

and in the sacred offering space in our... More.

  • Freedom

I certainly shout I choose freedom
    past the heavens
They touch it, swing by the birds, doing double takes, being spun around,

    what was that?

    I... More.

  • One or the other?

    By Emily Stern

    June 22, 2015 | 10:01 am

    It has been said,

once we know we are reflections of each other, once we recognize the whole in the awareness of "Love your neighbor as yourself." as One, as the face of God, the hand of God, the mouth of God, God,

Once that happens, things change, of course.

but can we be in splitered awareness, believing we are separate parts, and still care for each other?

The gift of this time is this question:

    Can we love the Other?

  • This Flower

    By Emily Stern

    June 9, 2015 | 11:13 pm

    My palms are the petals

    of this flower in bloom

    whose center I've entered

    to find King Tut's tomb,

a popsicle, my very first breath,

    a large box of cookies

    with just two more left,

    The Book of Three,

    the Tree of Life,

    and the hummingbird

who thinks all people look alike.

  • The Sun

    By Emily Stern

    feel the sun
    in the warmth of possibility
    if there weren’t so much
    shame to hide,
    we’d embrace our own
    telepathy.
