Song about schnoz has Jewish plastic surgeon in hot water

A Jewish plastic surgeon in Miami is under an ethics investigation after commissioning a Jewish band to write a song about a Jewish teen with a big nose.
Dr. Michael Salzhauer, 40, hired The Groggers, a Jewish punk-rock band, to write a song and make a music video that encourages plastic surgery in a bid to connect to a younger audience, ABC reported. Salzhauer, who is also known as “Dr. Schnoz,” performed rhinoplasty on the band’s lead singer, L.E. Doug Staiman.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons called the promotion “offensive and inappropriate,” the Huffington Post reported.
The society’s code of ethics requires members “to uphold the dignity and honor of the medical profession.”
Salzhauer is also holding a contest in which people can make their own music videos for the song. The video that receives the most views on YouTube will win a free rhinoplasty for its creator.
“I wanted to create something no other plastic surgeon has done before,” Salzhauer said in a news release. “Rhinoplasty is my favorite and most desired procedure. I found a way to incorporate my work into a fun and creative way to attract more patients.”
The lyrics of the song read:
“I want her, but she don’t want what I am
She says you got a beak like Jewcan Sam
She says I only go with guys with perfect upturned noses
So cut yours down to size.”
At the end of the song the guy gets a nose job—but still doesn’t get the girl.
