Ventura County Jewish Film Festival

55 SOCKS: Based on a poem by Marie Jacobs, this animated short by Oscar-winning director Co Hoedeman, pays tribute to the ingenuity of a tiny group of Dutch women during a dark period of their history – the “winter of hunger” in 1944-45.
BESA:THE PROMISE - An independent feature documentary tells the little-known history of Albanian Muslims who saved Jews during the
Holocaust. Through the images of photographer
Norman Gershman and the words and deeds of the people who lived it, the film is one of the last great untold stories of WW II.
Films followed by dinner with Christine Romero, Besa’s Producer/Editor at “the kitchen” restaurant across the street from the theater (at 6:15 PM).
