UCLA Hillel Dortort Center Presents the Annual Triple Art Opening

The Dortort Center for Creativity in the Arts at UCLA Hillel will open three art exhibits in three separate gallery spaces followed by a reception on Thursday, October 25th from 7-9pm. In addition a musical tribute in memory of Daniel Pearl will be performed by Jacqueline Rafii.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available for $11 at UCLA parking lot #2 on the corner of Hilgard and Westholme.

The exhibits presented are:

“What Remains: The Iranian Jewish Experience”, a mixture of sculptures, photography and video with participating artists, Soraya Sarah Nazarian, Shelley Gazin, Jessica Shokrian, Krista Nassi and a video installation by Tess Halavy. This exhibit is presented in conjunction with UCLA Fowler Museum’s “Light and Shadows” show.

“Frozen Music”, a black and white photographic study of Walt Disney Hall by Gil Garcetti

“Where the Past Meets the Future”, artist Fay Grajower’s stunning installation of 140 wooden boxes which depict the complicated history of Poland and its Jews.

Exhibits run through December 14th.
