“Thresholds”

This program of breakthrough compositions, all premiered in 1912-13, unites Stravinsky’s revolutionary ballet, “The Rite of Spring,” and Arnold Schoenberg’s then-shocking 1912 “Pierrot Lunaire” with equally innovative chamber music from the same years by Alban Berg (Four Pieces) and Anton Webern (Six Bagatelles and Three Pieces). World-renowned singer-actress Julia Migenes will perform Schoenberg’s masterpiece, the setting to music of 21 French poems.
